kdrama whump recs: found family/team as family edition
Found family/team as family is my favorite trope, and when it’s combined with whump it’s even better! So, without further ado, here are some of my favorite whumpy kdramas featuring these tropes! (This list is not a ranking!)
1. The Uncanny Counter (2021)
Age Rating: TV-14
Synopsis: So Mun is an orphaned high-school student who suddenly gains supernatural powers. Soon after, the local noodle-shop employees recruit him into their team of “Counters”, where he begins to learn of the evil spirits roaming around town.
Notes: This was actually my first-ever kdrama! It’s a great blend of action, drama, and comedy. It also has one of the most unique “magic” systems I’ve seen, with the “Counters” each connected to a spirit in the afterlife. It’s also extremely whumpy, with a lot of comfort and care given to the characters. Definitely recommend.

2. Bulgasal: Immortal Souls (2021)
Age Rating: TV-MA
Synopsis: Dan Hwal has lived for the past 600 years as a Bulgasal—a mythical creature that feeds off human blood and is cursed with immortality. Eventually, he connects with his reincarnated family, along with a formerly immortal woman.
Notes: This show is pretty complex and can get confusing at times. It’s also heartbreaking, but the characters make up for it! There’s a TON of whump for both characters shown in the GIF above.

3. Mystic Pop-Up Bar (2020)
Age Rating: TV-MA
Synopsis: Han Kang-bae is a young man with the ability to make people confess their deepest troubles with a single touch, but this power isn’t always a gift to him. One night, he meets the mysterious owner of a pop-up bar, a woman who must settle the grudges of 100,000 souls in order to gain a peaceful place in the afterlife.
Notes: This show isn’t the most whumpy on this list by any means, but it still has a good amount! What stood out to me were the relationships between the main trio of characters and how close they become with each other over the course of the show. No spoilers here, but this drama does involve reincarnation...

4. While You Were Sleeping (2017)
Age Rating: TV-14
Synopsis: Three young adults discover that they all have the same ability: seeing the future in their dreams. As a trio, they work together to attempt to change these (sometimes terrible) visions and save each other from harm.
Notes: Though this show is more focused on the romance between Jae-chan and Hong-joo, there are some great moments of found family feels between the main trio, sometimes including Jae-chan’s little brother and a different character who somewhat acts as a father figure. Pretty whumpy show that I absolutely adored watching! (Plus, the cast is STELLAR! I mean, Suzy, Jong-suk, and Jae-in together in a drama? It’s so good.)

5. Tomorrow (2022)
Age Rating: TV-MA
Synopsis: Choi Jun-woong is a young man struggling to find a job, but when he falls into a coma after an unfortunate accident, he’s offered a place on the Risk Management Team as a temporary grim reaper. Together, they help save people from s*icide.
Notes: Possibly my most favorite kdrama ever! It has more emotional whump than physical for the most part, but it’s so amazingly done. The main trio (plus another character, later in the show) have such great platonic chemistry, and even though they have conflicts, you can tell they all truly care for each other even after a short amount of time. (Rowoon’s acting talents are really highlighted in this show, as well as the other main leads!)

6. The Devil Judge (2021)
Age Rating: TV-14
Synopsis: This series is set in a dystopian version of South Korea, where the people live in chaos and corruption runs rampant. Trials are held through a courtroom live show aired on television, led by "The Devil Judge”.
Notes: This show is very dark, but has an interesting dynamic between the characters that evolves and grows over the course of the show. The characters are complex and imperfect, and though their conflicts are intense, it just makes the domestic moments so much better because of it. It has some good whump for the two main characters, and of course, Jin-young is an added bonus.

7. He is Psychometric (2019)
Age Rating: TV-14
Synopsis: Lee Ahn is a young man with the ability to read the memories of any object or person he touches. He begins to train his powers in order to help solve crimes and get justice for the death of his parents.
Notes: One of my favorite kdramas ever and a must-watch for anyone in the kdrama whump community. Fair warning, this show will absolutely shatter your heart, but it has such a great storyline with many twists and turns. This is a complex found family, and though the show does have a romance, it’s a really good one. Also, there’s SO MUCH WHUMP! Like in every single episode. It’s truly amazing. Jin-young never fails to amaze me with his acting.

Under this damn contract
Summary: Ariadna was just your average college student that suddenly found herself in a tight situation: she woke up inside her favorite novel! Well, isn’t that nice~? WRONG! She reincarnated as a support character whose fate is to end up dead, victim of the novel’s villain Kino, who’s thirst for blood and power makes him extremely dangerous! Right now, she’s one year ahead from the tragedy so Ariadna’s only choice is to find a way to survive. Ari must do anything in her power in order to avoid the destiny that was given to her. The question now is: will she make it?

Chapter 8: Playing with fire.
Mun Ari: One piece of advice: Do.not.write.anything.without.prior.planification!! I made these mistakes so YOU don’t make them! I wonder if it is only me though… meh! Anyway! I want to thank you for your patience while waiting for my brain to come up with a good idea on how to proceed with the story. I hope it won’t disappoint ^^.

Ari finished making her order to the kind waitress and soon she left to prepare it. Ari sat by her favorite spot at the cafe in Sutzig city, waiting patiently for her guest to arrive.
“Ari!” She heard someone calling her. Ari raised her eyes and soon Naomi made her way through the restaurant until she sat across from Ari’s chair.
“I’m so happy you made it Naomi!” Ari said cheerfully “It’s been a while since we could hang out together!”
“I agree, it’s such a shame…” Naomi sighed.
Ari felt guilty, after all she couldn’t keep in touch as much as she could due to her new “social life”. Yet, she hoped Naomi wouldn’t know about that.
“I would like to offer you an apology regarding this” Naomi interrupted Ari’s thoughts.
“You? Why?” Ari questioned her.
Naomi left a tired sigh.
“The truth is I’ve been very busy within my responsibilities to be able to send you letters” Naomi replied.
“Is that so… then it couldn’t be helped. Please don’t worry about it” Ari tried to comfort her.
“Still, I would like to apologize. Please accept them” Naomi insisted.
“Very well~”.
There was a tiny pause between them.
“You won’t ask about the things that have kept me busy?” Naomi inquired.
“I mean… I suppose that they are confidential topics that I shouldn’t know” Ari replied, confused.
“You’re right but, aren’t you curious?”
“I-I would be lying if I said I wasn’t” Ari admitted “But I think it is not correct for me to ask”.
Naomi smiled.
“You’re so honest and correct~” Noami praised Ari “Yet, it could help me to sort out my thoughts by talking it out with you”.
“Why me?”
“You’re my friend and I trust you”.
Ari felt touched by Naomi’s words and simply smiled.
Naomi left a tired sigh and soon started talking.
“Remember what I told you about the Eagle clan job regarding the barrier? Also regarding the towers that surround our kingdom so that the barrier reaches every place in our empire?”
"Yes, I remember," Ari said.
“However, the situation hasn’t been ideal. Just recently, the fluctuations have been more recurrent and are becoming a serious matter for us”.
(Wait! If the barrier comes from KarlHeinz, then…!) Ari’s eyes opened in realization. (Doesn’t this mean that these fluctuations means that his health is deteriorating!?).
“We have no way to know what exactly is causing this, but I hope it gets fixed soon. In the meantime, we have already asked for reinforcements” Naomi concluded.
(Then no one must be aware of this fact!!) Ari got worried.
Naomi noticed that Ari’s expression on her face. Naomi smiled, as she spoke.
“Don’t worry Ari. I assure you that with some more magicians the barrier will be restored in no time. We are fully prepared to whatever emergency that may arise in the future, so worry not~”
Ari smiled, but deep down she knew better that that wouldn’t be true.
(Now that I think about it, in the novel no one spoke about these incidents) Ari thought (These were subtable signs from KarlHeinz’s health slowly declining and no one seemed to notice or link these fluctuations with him. The barriers will cease to exist when KarlHeinz dies in Autumn… as well as Iberitia and everyone living there… even myself).
But she knew better than she had no way to tell Naomi that as she had no proof and probably thought of her as some lunatic.
“I hope so too Naomi” Ari finally stated.
“Let’s change to a more pleasant subject, shall we~?” Naomi said cheerfully “How have you been? Is there anything you’d like to tell me?”
“Not really. I’m doing well” Ari said as she took a sip of her tea.
“Really~? Is there really anything you’d like to tell me~?” Naomi said while taking her tea as well “Then I must have heard wrong since I heard you were having quite a social life~”
Ari shrugged.
“Oh, that? They’re exaggerating~” she lied “Just a couple of parties or reunions here and there~” Ari then took another sip.
“Really~? Then, how is it that I heard you have been accompanying certain young man to these ‘occasional’ gatherings~?”
Ari almost choked on her tea. She coughed and cleaned her mouth as she tried to recover.
“Y-You knew!?” Ari asked. “I thought you d-didn’t care about listening to rumors”.
“I usually don’t care about them as I believe they are a waste of time” Naomi agreed. “However… when my friend’s name was mentioned I couldn’t ignore them”.
Ari tensed.
“I had really hoped you hadn’t listened to them… at least this time” Ari admitted.
“Rumors fly and it was a matter of time before I knew” Naomi shrugged.
Ari gulped discreetly, she had to come up with an excuse for Naomi to lose interest and let it be.
“The duke Kino from Rottisen, huh?” Naomi said and after a brief pause she spoke again “I don’t like him”.
Ari opened her eyes in awe. Naomi had never openly expressed a dislike towards someone. She could guess so by the way she interacted with them, but everything kept being respectful.
“H-How so? Do you know him by any chance?” Ari asked.
(If Naomi knew something, maybe I can use that to my advantage!).
“That’s my point: I have never heard of him before” Naomi replied “And that makes me doubt him. Ari, due to my position, I know every single member of the nobility. They are part of my responsibilities as I have to interact with them at some point, therefore I have to know about them to maintain diplomatic relationships. Not just nobles here in the Makai, but I also know the most important members of the foreign nobility. Yet, I’ve never heard of the existence of the duke of Rottissen”.
Ari didn’t know what to say. If she dared to say something wrong, Naomi could know about Kino’s secret identity and complicate things more. She had to cover up for Kino.
“Is he your lover by any chance?” Naomi interrupted Ari’s thoughts.
“I-I! W-Well! I-I mean! We are still getting to know each other!” Ari said blushing.
(I wish I could explain to her the type of situation I’m stuck in…) Ari thought ashamed.
(For what I learnt, here in the world of the novel something as ‘boyfriend’ doesn’t exist. Apparently, the closest to it would be ‘lover’, but having that title means a step closer to becoming a fiance!).
Naomi looked at Ari and left her tea cup on the table.
“I don’t like it…” she repeated.
“Y-You don’t have to worry about it Naomi!”
Naomi sighed.
“I would have preferred you to go out with someone I knew. That way I could have given you useful advice in order for you to make a good decision. For example, if you had chosen Sir Tersul… Sure, he looks like a gentleman, but he’s addicted to gambling. Or maybe if you had chosen his highness the fifth prince, I would have warned you about his famous whereabouts with various ladies. Something as fidelity isn’t in his vocabulary…”
Ari giggled, yet Naomi went serious.
“Yet his grace… I know nothing. It makes me feel uneasy”.
Ari felt moved, having such a great friend like Naomi moved her heart deeply. Naomi was never mentioned in the novel, so Ari suspected she wasn’t someone of importance and most likely ended up as Kino’s victim at some point in the novel. Although she greatly appreciated her, she had to keep her as far as she could from all this issue… to keep her safe.
“Don’t worry Naomi… I mean it when I tell you I’m fine” Ari smiled at her.
Naomi sighed once again.
“I trust your intuition, so I’ll respect your decision and won’t push it further. Still, I would like to advise you to be careful with his grace. Since no one seems to know about him, I can only offer you this much advice”.
Ari nodded and so they changed the topic.
Some time later, they finally said their goodbyes and parted in different directions.
As Naomi had just entered her carriage, it started moving. Naomi was deep in thought regarding the conversation she had today with Ariadna.
(Duke Kino from Rottisen, huh? Sounds fishy…) Naomi thought seriously (Besides… Why does that land’s name sound familiar? I’ll have to look into this further…)
Soon she heard a light knock by her window. She opened it and one of her soldiers looked at her with urgency.
“I’m sorry ma’am, but your presence is urgently required back to the Eagle territory” the soldier said “The barrier is going through a new fluctuation right now”.
Naomi opened her eyes, surprised.
“What? But it stabilized just hours ago!” Naomi exclaimed.
“The messenger just came to inform us ma’am” the soldier replied.
“Very well. Then let us hurry back, we’ll use a magic portal to arrive as soon as possible. Hurry everyone!” Naomi ordered and all her soldiers went back to work.
Naomi sighed.
(This can’t be normal. If this continues there’s no way we can keep it a secret much longer. And we haven’t received any reply yet from the imperial palace. Just what is going on?) Naomi thought as her carriage hurried. (I need to take care of this before anything else. I’ll need to put Ari's situation on hold. I hope I’m wrong about it and not to worry Ari unnecessary).
Naomi’s carriage took the magic portal and soon vanished, taking their preoccupations with them.
As Ari was getting ready for the party she was heading out to, she kept thinking about her conversation with Naomi the previous day.
(There’s no doubt that these fluctuations are signs that KarlHeinz’s weakening by the day. At this point, the story will follow its original curse) Ari thought as Mia was styling her hair by her mirror (We are just 2 months away from the Star’s festival and therefore the prediction of the oracle…).
“All done my lady! You look stunning!” Mia exclaimed.
“Thank you Mia,” Ari said as she rose.
She headed to the carriage waiting for her by the entrance of her home. Once inside, it made its way to her already designated encounter point with Kino. When she arrived and both made their way to the party, silence always prevailed. It was clear that they took the ‘business only’ by heart. Ari sighed at the uncomfortable atmosphere between them. She had tried to start a conversation with him several times before, but they had died soon after they had started. It was clear that Kino refused to speak beyond the necessary… not to mention he wouldn’t speak about his plans at all with her.
(He’s unapproachable. He’s also very cautions around me and he doesn’t trust me at all) Ari thought gazing at him from across her seat, while he was looking out the window (If I could only know what he’s looking for at the moment and I managed to get it for him…. then I could have some chance to get him to trust me).
The carriage stopped and both descended.
(I need to find out what: it can be information or maybe an object or maybe getting closer to a specific noble… if I manage to get it for him first! He might think of me as useful!).
They entered as they were announced. Soon Ari felt the guest’s stares and somehow she had gotten used to them at some point. They walked together and slowly they were greeted by various guests.
(I guess I have to start by sticking with him at all times to find it out) Ari thought.
Yet, at some point, as she was greeting some ladies that greeted her, she lost sight of Kino. Ari made her best effort to be by his side, yet he sneaked somehow every time. At some point, Ari ended up by herself by the dance floor.
(I can’t believe it! Is he doing it on purpose!? Why can't I remain by his side!?) Ari thought frustrated, looking everywhere for Kino. (He’s a sneaky jerk! Like a hummingbird flying at high speed from flower to flower! I can’t keep up with him!).
Ari’s eyes couldn’t find him anywhere. In late parties, he would leave her by herself and disappear not to be found by her until the end of the party or after some hours if she was lucky.
(If this keeps happening! I won’t make any progress at this rate!) Ari groaned, still looking around. Suddenly, she felt someone touch her shoulder making her go back to her senses.
“Lady Ariadna! It’s been a while!” a group of young ladies she had met at Lady Mindel’s party, Lady Shabel being one of them.
“Oh my~! You’re right! How have you all been?” Ari asked them.
(Oh dear, what a bad timing…) Ari thought as she smiled at them.
“It’s a pleasure to have encountered my lady!” lady Shabel exclaimed.
“The pleasure is all mine,” Ari said, and started talking about meaningless things.
Although Ari was secretly looking around for Kino and as soon as she would spot him she’ll excuse herself to go directly to him.
At a certain point, the music changed and all the ladies started leaving in search of a partner to dance or being asked to dance by a brave gentleman. In the end, lady Shabel, a lady called Linda and Ari remained with no one asking them to join them for a dance.
“Where is his grace, my lady?” Lady Linda asked curiously “I thought he would come to take you for a dance by now”.
“A-Ah! His Grace had some business to attend with other guests at the party and had to retire for a while” Ari invented an excuse.
“Oh! If it was for work, it can’t be helped~” Lady Shabel replied understandingly.
“I agree. Sometimes my father would take the opportunity to make business at gatherings such as this one” Lady Linda agreed.
Ari thanked they believed her lie, while she kept looking around for him. Yet when she laid her eyes on the dance floor, she forgot her search for Kino as she focused on the dancing couples. They swung around in sync with the music, somehow they were so coordinated that Ari thought of those movies back on her world replicating a ball like the one she was seeing herself. They all danced like they were professional dancers with a lot of practice for the big event. Ari always felt her heart beating fast with emotion at those scenes, but seeing it with her own eyes felt surreal. Since she was little, things like balls, dresses, princesses and anything related made her wish she was there. Even in the tight situation she found herself in, she wished she could join them… everytime.
(Even if I was asked to dance I don’t know how to do it. Maybe the original Ariadna knew as she was a noble since birth, but not me. I can’t risk making a fool of myself) Ari thought, yet her eyes never left the dance floor. (Besides, if I happen to dance with someone else, I can make Kino angry with me).
The dance piece came to an end and a round of applause followed. Ari resumed looking for Kino, but got distracted by a sudden commotion on her surroundings.
“Oh my! Could it be…?” someone said.
“I don’t believe it!” someone else said.
“What is she doing here?” Lady Linda asked incredulously.
“I never thought someone like her would attend an event like this,” Lady Shabel added.
Ari followed their direction and by the entrance she saw that a new guest arrived at the party.
A beautiful lady was slowly descending the long stair by the entrance. Her long straight hair looked like strands of gold fluttering behind her. She was wearing a deep wine dress, richly decorated with details in black. When she arrived at the bottom of the stairs, she made a little bow with her head to viscount and viscountess Weiter, the hosts of the party, that were there. They reciprocated as they thanked her for joining them. She nodded and focused once again to the rest of the party and slowly made her way through them. They moved aside as she walked, somehow intimidated by her mere presence.
“I’m shocked she’s here” Lady Linda commented, her voice almost a whisper.
“I agree. This isn’t the type of party she would attend” Lady Shabel agreed with lady Linda as well in a whisper.
“Who is she?” Ari said, realizing late that she thought it out loud.
“You don’t know who she is, Lady Ariadna!?” both ladies exclaimed looking at Ari surprised.
Before allowing her to answer, Lady Linda spoke.
“She’s her Grace Sabine Tachihara! The heiress from the Vibora clan!”
“Not to mention she’s currently the one that leads all trends in the empire. Whatever she wears or says is for sure turning into the next trend in the coming days”. Lady Shabel added.
“Everyone wishes to be part of her group or at least be on her good side. If someone dares to offend her or making her angry, it will be a social suicide! She can turn everyone against that person and it would be almost impossible to recover from it”.
Ari looked at Sabine as she kept walking. She passed exactly in front of Ari and the ladies and for a fraction of a second, Sabine seemed to look towards her direction and Ari could have sworn her eyes seemed cold and almost hateful. Was she looking at her? Did she imagine it?
Sabine kept walking across the center of the ballroom.
“Oh dear…” Ari heard Lady Shabel mutter and Ari looked towards the direction she was looking.
As people were moving away from her, someone didn’t move. Ari opened her eyes, surprised that that somebody was Kino. He was distracted by a conversation he was having with a man Ari didn’t recognize. Ari also saw that man looked behind Kino and closed his mouth in astonishment. Kino must have wondered the reason for that behavior and finally turned around to find himself face to face with Sabine that was forced to stop by this. They both look at each other, like analyzing each other. They looked like two beasts measuring their strengths. Everyone at the ball seemed to stop breathing, Ari could hear some worried whisperings around her wondering what would happen next. Some whispers claimed that Kino was being reckless by not moving aside on time, while others wondered what yould be Sabine’s next move.
After what seemed like an eternity, they simply smiled at each other and bowed at each other.
“Your grace” she greeted him.
“Your grace” he reciprocated.
Everyone was astonished and Ari could guess Kino achieved something big.
“I finally have the pleasure to make your acquaintance your grace” Sabine continued.
“The pleasure is all mine” Kino gave her a charming smile.
“I look forward to having a conversation with your grace in the near future” with another bow Sabine walked past Kino and continued her way.
As soon as Sabine disappeared, everyone seemed like they were holding their breath and finally were allowed to breathe. Soon whispers could be heard everywhere, but Kino was unbothered and resumed his conversation with the gentlemen around him that joined him once again, but Ari could tell they were somehow more lively after what had happened, most likely proud from Kino’s achievement.
“Her mere presence is intimidating” Lady Linda commented.
“I can see that…” Ari said, but was more impressed as to how Kino handled it. (It felt like a scene from Mean girls if you ask me) Ari laughed internally.
“I still can’t think of a good reason as to why her grace would attend a party like this one” Lady Shabel said.
“Whatever the reason she might have had… I’m so glad I came as well! Is it better to experience it than to hear about it, don’t you think?” Lady Linda replied excitedly.
“I agree! The rest of the ladies will be so jealous when they hear about~! I can't wait for our next gathering!” Lady Shabel agreed.
Yet Ari remembered that stare Sabine had given her. She also wasn’t quite sure if she had to admire Kino’s nerves of steel or question Kino’s sanity. In any case, she had to find him, she couldn’t go home like she always had with no progress on her plan… or any plan she had made anyway.
She excused herself and went to find Kino, only to spot him just in time taking some stairs open to the guests to the second floor. She hurried after him and when she arrived to the second floor, she lost sight of him. The second floor merely consisted of a huge corridor with an incredible set of large window-like doors that led to small balconies for guests to use for a brief pause to have some fresh air. Something that just made sense since Ari well knew that viscount and viscountess Weiter enjoyed hosting various parties every couple of weeks. As an introvert herself, she thanked having somewhere to escape to when she felt like charging her “social battery”. As Ari walked looking for Kino, she heard some noises coming from the last of the balconies on the right side of the hall. She peaked and found Kino, but she discovered Kino wasn’t alone: Sabine was with him.
“I’ve heard a lot about you, your grace, I’m glad to have encountered you this evening” Ari heard Sabine said.
“Heh? And what is that I perhaps owe the pleasure for her grace to look forward to have a word with me?” Kino replied.
“Rumors spread fast and wide in this empire, it was a matter of time for me to hear about you. I must say that what I heard has picked my interest”.
(Then what the ladies said is true!) Ari thought surprised (If she’s aware of Kino’s existence our rumors have made it to the higher circles).
“I have to say that it is quite an honor to have caught the interest of a lady such as her grace,” Kino replied, clearly satisfied.
“Is not something easy to achieve, considering that I’m hard to impress”.
“I wonder what I can do for her grace to keep her interest longer”.
(Could it be that Sabine is interested in Kino in a flirty way?) Ari wondered (I mean, she isn’t really the first, but a duchess as Sabine!? Was this a thing in the novel? I can’t remember–).
“Lady Koizumi?” a nearby voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Y-Yes!?” Ari jumped and turned to look around to find Viscount Weiter in front of her.
“I’m terribly sorry to startle you my lady” he apologized with a sympathetic chuckle for Ari’s reaction.
“N-Not at all my lord!” Ari quickly composed herself and bowed to greet him “I was simply distracted”.
“I see” the Viscount replied “Are you enjoying the party my lady?”
“Oh! Definitely! The selection of music and the decorations are wonderful! It’s clear that everything was planned with the utmost care!” Ari praised.
“I’ll let my wife know your thoughts, my lady. I’m glad it was of your liking”
“Please do, my lord. Plus your hospitality has played a great part as well!”
“You’re so very kind, my lady” Viscount Weiter said with a pleased smile “I was actually looking for his Grace, have you perhaps seen it?”
Ari paid extra attention to his words.
“Did something happen?”
“Nothing to worry, at least not as far as I'm concerned” he said “Is simply that he asked for a moment to have a word with me and is just until now that I’m finished greeting all guests that I can spare him some time”.
“I see!”
(This is my chance!) Ari thought.
“I thought you might know as his partner where could he be”
“As a matter of fact, I do know where to find him, my lord!” she answered “I’ll go and tell him myself, so if you'd like you can wait for him in one of the balconies and I tell him to go and find you”. Ari replied.
“Wonderful! Then, tell his grace I’ll be waiting on the last balcony on the other end of the hall for more privacy”.
“Sure! Meanwhile, my lord should use this time to have some fresh air himself while waiting!”
“What a great idea! You’re so kind, my lady” Viscount Weiter said and turned around and left.
Ari turned around as well and, after a deep breath, lightly knocked on the balcony’s door where they kept talking. After a brief pause, she entered.
“Excuse me…Oh! Your graces! I hope I’m not interrupting!” Ari faked surprise as she entered.
“Not at all~” Kino replied, but Ari had a glimpse of Sabine’s face to notice she wasn’t happy with her interruption “Were you looking for me?”
“I was, thankfully a servant saw you coming here and I was able to find you” Ari replied.
“Did you need something?” Kino asked.
“Actually, I came to tell you that Viscount Weiter is free now and is waiting for you in the balcony by the end of the hall”
“Ah~, then I can’t keep him waiting. If you’ll excuse me~”.
Kino left, leaving Ari and Sabine. Ari looked at her and felt the sudden change of the atmosphere. Sabine opened a fan to cover her face, not allowing Ari to read her expressions any longer.
(Kino you jerk, you didn’t introduce me to her!) Ari thought annoyed.
“Allow me to introduce myself with your grace: my name is Lady Ariadna Koizumi, youngest member of the Koizumi family” Ari introduced herself as she was of lower rank between them.
Sabine nodded. Ari felt uncomfortable in the awkward situation before her. After what felt like a long time, she spoke:
“I’ve heard about you”.
(You could have said so sooner!) Ari thought. (Ugh… This is so awkward! I want to leave!).
“It’s an honor, I hope only good things!” Ari tried to joke.
“Maybe…” Sabine answered coldly “but that doesn’t change the fact that is… annoying”.
Ari opened her eyes in surprise, taken aback by her words.
(Did I hear right?)
Ari could only look at her confused, but Sabine simply started walking towards the entrance behind her.
“If you’ll excuse me” and with that Sabine left.
Ari stayed there even after a couple of minutes trying to process what had happened.
(What was that!? Did I do something wrong? What did she mean by that?) Ari then felt angry (So the look she gave me before wasn’t my imagination!)
Ari took a deep breath and let it go.
(You won’t always be liked by other people… maybe she was just not in a good mood?) Ari said as she shrugged (Besides, I have other things to worry about).
Ari then entered the mansion and went directly to the other end of the hall where some gentlemen were having a private conversation.
(I have to find out what Kino is after. I need to try to be a step ahead of him!) Ari thought as she hurried.
As she approached the balcony silently, she listened as both gentlemen chatted.
“I’m afraid that as much as I would like to help his grace, I’m unable to do so” she heard viscount Weiter said.
“It’s hard for me to believe it, as you are well informed in all the affairs regarding the internal market,” Kino said.
Ari really didn’t have the background of their conversation, but kept listening.
“Is true, but what his grace is asking is beyond my capabilities. Rather than involving the market, I think that’s a topic more fitable for politics'’.
“Not even if I double the current offer?”
There was a brief pause, clearly Viscount Weiter was contemplating the offer.
“Something as offering such a large supply of magical weapons… enough to fully equip the Imperial Army: Are you saying that your land has a higher production capacity than the North Kingdom?”
Ari gulped.
(If Viscount Weiter knew that, in fact, Kino does have that capacity…) Ari thought, remembering the events of the novel.
Viscount Weiter sighed and the sound of footsteps was heard closer to the entrance.
“I seriously can’t help you, your Grace” Viscount said “You have great talent, I’ve heard of it and I’ve seen proof of it just now. If you continue like that you’ll have a bright future ahead. However, I don’t possess the resources or contacts to provide you with the information you need. My sincere apologies, I hope you find what you’re looking for”.
“It can’t be helped then” Kino concluded “Thank you for your time then”.
“We can sign the contract another day,” Viscount said. “However, with the original offer only”.
“You can keep the second offer, it doesn’t make a difference anyway”.
“There’s no need, the double offer was in case I could be of any help. I won’t rest if I take advantage of his grace. Now if you’ll excuse me”.
Ari heard those footsteps again, so she hid behind some curtains and waited until she was sure the Viscount was gone.
As she left her hideout, she heard Kino grunted, clearly angry that things didn’t go as we wanted.
“What a waste of time” Kino dropped the kind act “How is it possible for a business man like him not to know anything regarding the north border?”
(The north border? Could it be…?)
Kino took a deep breath and spoke in a serious tone:
“I know you’re there”.
(Dammit!) she thought, entering the balcony.
“Well, if it isn’t you~” Kino spoke mockingly “Bad habits die hard, I see~”.
“It wasn’t my intention” Ari replied apologetically.
“May I remind you that this habit of yours got you in this situation to begin with~?”
“I know”.
Standing next to each other, they saw far in the distance.
“So, how much did you listen?” Kino inquired.
“J-Just the last part” Ari replied.
“Great, just great” Kino sighed exasperated. “Just forget you heard anything”.
“I-Is there any way I can help?” Ari dared to ask.
“Another bad habit of yours: minding in other’s business. No, you can’t help” Kino turned around with the intention to leave.
Ari grasped on the balcony concrete trying to calm herself.
(I have to try something! I need to try to cross that line he’s putting between us, otherwise I won’t be able to make it!) Ari thought desperately (Those that don’t risk, don’t win!)
“I-Is pretty hard to introduce products into the Makai right?” Ari finally said nervously “Let alone cross the border… Well, or so I-I heard”.
She heard Kino’s footsteps stop. Ari dared to turn her head and saw he had turned his head around.
“What?”
“Y-Yes, after all the Makai is p-protected from external t-threats” she proceeded carefully “Is specially though in the northern barrier”.
“And that is…?” he inquired.
Ari was a nervous wreck, she had to keep going.
“T-The magic barrier of course” she declared. “It was made purely with the purpose to protect our empire”.
“You are telling me nothing new” Kino finally said and was about to leave when Ari once again said.
“Security these days has increased considerably, don’t you think?”
“Security has always been strong”.
“But you know the reason behind it?”
Kino squinted his eyes, not really answering which Ari could dare to think she had guessed it.
“Are you suggesting you know it?” Kino said in a mocking way.
“I do, in fact, know” Ari answered to his remark, sarcasm in her tone.
“I doubt it~” Kino shrugged, “so far, I have eyes and ears set on the north barrier, the reason behind it is confidential, someone as you knowing is…”
“Then, I suppose you already know about the fluctuations of the barrier” Ari finally said, somehow annoyed that Kino kept underestimating her.
Kino’s eyes opened so slightly.
“Fluctuations? In the barrier? That’s impossible” Kino said “That would mean the Makai is vulnerable to an attack any time a fluctuation lasts long enough for an army to invade”.
“Why do you think it has been kept as a secret or at least to just a few?” Ari questioned.
Kino went silent for a minute.
(Bingo! So there was something Kino didn’t know!) Ari thought satisfied.
“Fluctuations can be fixed sooner or later, even if what you said sure is interesting… doesn't make any much of a difference to me" Kino concluded to which Ari felt disappointed.
But backing off… wasn't an option anymore.
"That’s a shame really, you seem to go after big things"
"Which I deduce you can’t provide. Such a shame, better luck next time~"
"But, what if the fluctuations meant something bigger?"
Ari had his full attention and Ari had to place everything on the bet if she wanted to make a change.
"Bigger as?"
"Do you know where exactly the barrier comes from?"
"The towers" Kino answered with no hesitation "they are spread wide in the Makai"
"True, but not quite" Ari said "they amplify the magic so it covers the Makai as a whole”.
“I can hardly believe that” Kino replied “The towers must have a source of its own to produce enough magic to cover just a fraction of the land and where that ends the other tower close by would cover the next part and so on”.
“I understand your logic, but here in the Empire it is possible” Ari answered calmly. “The source is what really matters".
“Are you suggesting that something so powerful exists that is only required one of its kind to sustain the whole Empire and even better to be kept in only one place?”
"Actually, rather than imagining something… you should be thinking of someone".
"The source comes from someone and not something?"
Ari could tell Kino was confused, she had nailed what kind of information he was really after. It was understandable that it was something hard to believe, it was hard for her as well at first. However, everything made sense… at least for her with what she knew from the novel. She was given an advantage and she had to use it wisely.
"Magic reflects the state in which the porter is at. Can you imagine the severity of the situation?"
Kino was silent, Ari was expectantly waiting.
After what felt like forever, Kino spoke in a serious tone.
"Who is it? Who is producing all the magic enough to protect an empire and for it to only be distributed by the towers?"
Ari looked calmly at him, although she was a nervous wreck on the inside. It was time to use what she knew in her favor and assume the consequences that would come with them.
"No other than his Majesty the Emperor KarlHeinz".

hi, lovelies! it’s yulhee’s mun here with a second muse (i must have a thing for girls with pink hair??). introducing to you all, this is kwon somin. side note that this is a sideblog so any sort of plotting will be done through my main blog (lovexoxos). below the cut will be a brief introduction to somin and as always, please do like this post to plot!
₊˙ ◌ ⁎˚ 〇﹒﹙ha sooyoung/yves. cis woman. she/her.﹚guess who was almost late for their shift at salon 20 again ?? that’s right, it was kwon somin ! it’s a wonder their job as a nail tech isn’t in jeopardy. the 24 year old has been working at sunset galleria for seven months, and is well known for their humor. on bad days, they can be rather thoughtless, though. when the mall is dead at night, they can usually be found taking a nap at any bench around the mall, but don’t tell their boss !
BACKGROUND.
born in seoul to a father who was a director at a bank and a stay-at-home mother along with a younger brother. from the very beginning of her life, she was pretty financially stable and never had troubles with money
dipped her feet into art pretty early on in her life while her younger brother played baseball
(tw! gambling) unknowingly to the rest of the family, somin’s father was a huge gambler which comes to bite the whole family in the ass about a year ago! he was caught embezzling money from the bank he worked at, fired immediately and even facing charges. her mother divorces his ass quickly and brings her children to live in daegu where she’s originally from (end of tw!)
SUNSET.
adjusting to life in daegu is hard, especially because with all the money lost, somin can no longer afford to do art. the art degree she got doesn’t come in handy either in a place other than seoul and becomes pretty much worthless
plus, it’s not like she was ever close with her maternal grandparents either. at first, somin does a few side jobs. she works at a cafe, does art tutoring for some children around the place by playing up the college degree she has. once she makes enough, she decides to move out of her grandparent’s house to live alone
she ends up sort of stumbling into sunset one day and sees the sign that salon 20 is hiring. look, she still loves art so much that she wants to do something with it, which is why she ends up working as a nail tech
it’s different from what she’s used to (working with pastel oils, water colors and so on) but she still gets to do nice designs and such, so it’s a good second alternative
of course, somin doesn’t see it as a permanent job, but she believes she’s settled in pretty well and have decided that, at the moment, she’s going to try not to think about all the what if’s and just enjoy her life considering that she never got to as she did art
PERSONALITY.
if you were to have met her about a year ago, you would have thought she was pretty out of touch with reality. however, as her world came tumbling down, she’s also humbled down a bit as well
a little secretive in the sense that she doesn’t love to talk about her life before coming to daegu. it seems like such a different world that she’d rather not speak of the past, and she doesn’t want to talk too much about her future either. would rather much talk about short term goals/plans than long term ones. somin’s really just trying to #yolo her life right now
in that same sense, she probably appears to be aloof from time to time like you can’t always tell what’s going on in her mind because she’s... not actually thinking of much
really passionate about her job like yeah, being a nail tech might not be the fanciest job within the mall, but she really loves it. plus, she likes to hear other people’s stories and what better timing than when they’re getting their nails done, right?
very likely to try to take up mall employee discounts whenever she can. might even bargain a little like “come on, we’re technically coworkers! let me get a cup of coffee for free”
overall, she’s a pretty simple human being. her whole life’s been changed quite suddenly, and she’s still in an adjustment period. still pretty new to daegu as well, so i’m sure she just creams i’m from seoul a lot, but i’m excited to see what kind of connections she makes with all your muses!

I'm an adult in my 30s. As such, I will NOT roleplay with a minor! I'd prefer 20s and older.
I only RP adults and don't feel comfortable with any aged-down or otherwise child-ized characters involving any kind of non-sfw content. Please message me prior to any rp if your muse is a child and we can discuss the restrictions.
Note: The one general exception I make is with Wendy, as Peter Pan and the lost boys are part of her lore.
Please remember that any actions or opinions that my muses have are not a reflection of me. Totally different. Also, please don't think that we can flirt OOC just because my muse flirts with yours. I'm not interested in anything OOC.
Most of the time, I'm on mobile. As such, I don't format my posts heavily for aesthetic. I don't mind if my RP partners do, but I will not match it.
I prefer multi-paragraph. I do not usually put faceclaims or images in my posts since I’m often on mobile and found it’s not my style. I don't mind if you do, so long as you still write out everything.
I am OC and cross fandom friendly, although I prefer to avoid self inserts when possible. There are some fandoms I'm not into, I usually won't mind my partner using a fandom I'm not familiar with (as long as you can forgive me for not knowing a damn thing about it).
I have no problem with NSFW but I have found that tumblr isn’t the best place for posting smut (without blogs getting flagged as expletive) so I do not write smut on my blogs anymore.
Despite the fact that I won’t write smut here, I do enjoy romance, often opting to do fades to black when things get extra spicy but will write out things leading up to it.
With that being said, I don’t roleplay for the sake of smut. I prefer romance that is organic and has meaning to the plot or character development. I won’t pre-plan a ship until I see if the characters interact well together.
I tend to make comments OOC in the tags during posts, you don't have to do the same but I found it works for me.
I have a full time job and several hobbies, so my replies aren't always in a timely manner. I try to do it daily or every other day.
As this is a multi-muse blog, I have a variety of muses on here which is constantly growing or changing. I know not everyone enjoys all fandoms but I respect peoples tastes regardless. I also have several blogs dedicated to single muses.
If I don't feel the characters mesh well or just not feeling the roleplay, I will drop it. I will let you know if I drop it. Just because I drop a rp doesn’t mean we can’t try again with different muses if we both want to.
I occasionally post open starters. These are open to anyone! If you like or reply, I assume you read my rules and I will read yours before responding. If you like and your main blog isn’t a RP blog, please comment with your RP blog so I know who to send the starter for!
I’m currently trying to limit myself to one RP thread per mun, with a few exceptions I’ve made for very old partners I’ve had, to keep me from being overwhelmed. If you feel our current thread isn’t going as you’d like, feel free to pitch a new one to me and we can switch.

ROXY FIELDS is the creation of one absolutely spectacular maggie! i owe maggie quite literally everything as it comes to liam. they truly wouldn’t exist without maggie and her lovely beautiful brain who one day agreed to make spider-man ocs with me. we’d been talking so much about the lack of older spider-men in stories and also just badass women and friendship and devotion that blurs lines in platonic love and from it came liam and roxy.
i keep wanting to dedicate a post or seven to roxy and truly appreciate all that she is and gives to the story, because she is quite literally. 50% of it. but i always fear i’ll get some factoid wrong or misremember. roxy isn’t mine and therefore i just kind of stand here and point at the beautiful art of creation that maggie’s made. i will certainly try to get some stuff out about roxy, because i do want to so maybe that’ll be a fun thing for maggie and i to do together and reconnect with.
i truly don’t do a good enough job on this blog to emphasize how vital roxy is to the liam kaz story. their lives are intertwined in a blue and yellow ribbon and in every single universe they will be brought together to make each other better. roxy is the reason liam does anything and lets themself be loved and feels seen. roxy is the reason liam suffers as long as they do and fights to get back to earth-1530. roxy and liam, liam and roxy are a package deal. anyone close to them will know them as such

After the attack on the party and getting the intel based on the evidence and statements from the captured mercernaries. The boys and the fraction leaders are having a plan in motion through Dazai and Eraserhead’s briefing.

----- Four Months Later ----
In the criminal underworld, a hitman approaches a client who is sitting at the table inside a dive bar. He is fidgeting and nervous. This must be his first time.
“Alright. I got your call. What’s the job?”
“This one....you gotta kill this monster. I hear you’re the best at what you do..” The client passes a photo. A bounty. The hitman looks over the name and wide his eyes slightly.
The 20-something client chuckles. “Got your attention, huh? Good. Do this and you get-”
“Forget it.” The hitman cuts him off.
“Huh?! Why?! This damn lizard and their damn team cost me my weapon-smuggling business!!!” The client yelled.
“Do you have any idea who this person is?” The hitman sighed, tapping on the photo.
“Yeah. Van Ink The Dragon. I heard she lead a bunch of punks acting like pro-heroes without licenses, taking down bad guys. They’re nothing compare to you!”
“And you already heard that she took down that anti pro-hero, Iron Titan, right? Fought Killer Night a year ago. And a few others?” The hitman wrinkles his cigarette in annoyance. “Yeah but those guys are-” The client argues but the hitman cuts him off
“Then forget it. Just take the loss and move on. Van Ink The Dragon isn’t someone you want to mess or else the Six Claws will go after you and makes sure you will regret.” The hitman tells him.
“The what-now?” The client blinks stupidly.
“Ugh...I’m going to tell you what happened the last time when someone who tried to target Van Ink The Dragon. Wanna know what happened?”
“Fine! Can’t it be that bad...” The client huffs, crossing his arms. “Heh. You got no idea...” The hitman begins to tell the story of The Dragon and her Six Claws. “

It took time but thanks to the efforts of Mouse and Fosh with the support of ADA and a few pro-heroes such as Eraserhead. They found the identity of the person who send the mercenaries: Ray Decham. Said to be businessman whose hobbies are hunting, art collecting and is known for a money-laundering business and smuggling naroctics. He looks to be in his late twenties or early thrities, has a knack for throwing huge auction parties. He had that look that similar to a lackey from a Yazuka gang. He has pericngs on his ears as he has boastful look.
A meeting is being held in a huge office by the ADA who find proof along with Eraserhead and Dazai who are spearheading the investigation behind the incident.
The fraction leaders are in the meeting in person while their core teammates are watching via online. The DBT are also in person as well as they want to take down the ones responsible. Ink is in the hospital, is fine but unconscious so it’s going to take time for her to wake up.
Dazai briefed that the motive is that Ray targeted Ink not only for the bounty but he has a reputation in underworld saying that he will take down the Dragon and he has a few friends who have a grudge against her for indirectly messing with their illegal business and he works with a doctor, Adam Ripper who is seen with him on a patio in a photograph having wine. Adam Ripper, an infamous doctor who has a reputation in illegal organ trafficking and his hobby of occult. Dazai theorized that Adam wants Ink or rather her power due to Adam’s pervious crimes.
So in short, Decham works with Ripper. Decham hired the mercs as he has money as he wants the reputation to take down the famed Van Ink The Dragon and Adam gets to keep her body if succeeded! This got everyone disgusted besides Dazai and Eraserhead who kept a serious straight face.
But man....they did not take in account for the six who cared about Ink so deeply or the fact their plan failed miserably the moment their hired goons attacked the party the other night.
As the meeting went on, the fraction leaders sense something off. Or rather....everyone in the room knew. The DBT and other fraction leaders can sense the anger and fury, especially Kali. She can sense how angry the boys were. Atsushi gave Dazai notes but she can tell how quiet and eerily calm he is. She sees glimpses of his tiger eyes time from time when Dazai explained the motive of these two men. Rin and Yukio are here too. Yukio had to look towards his brother a few times in concern when Rin keep his mouth shut. Kali can tell he is snarling right now, holding it in.
Denji and Ren are with the DBT on request to which the fraction allowed them so. Denji muttering something under breath. ‘Fucking bastards..’ and whatnot as he gripping his arms tightly as he is gritting his teeth.
Ren was silent more than usual. He zeroed in the faces of Ray Decham and Adam Ripper when Dazai summarizes the motives of these two men like he is going to murder them in their sleep.
But it’s nothing compare to the two upcoming pro-heroes of UA. Midoriya and Bakugo.
Bakugo hasn’t said one curse throughout this meeting. Not one. There is no outburst from him that disrupts Dazai and Eraserhead’s briefing. Which is worrying DBT and the fraction leaders. But Midoriya? Yeah, they all FEEL that he’s pissed off because he is not saying a word and he held a blank face.
He hasn’t said one word until he asked.
“So where is Ray Decham located?” Midoriya asked calmly. There is no emotion in his voice. But damn, his voice can cut the tension with a knife, which made the fraction leaders startled. Yuuka, who knew Midoriya, who is not known for anger in class 1-A. He is a happy green bean who is so cheerful and inspires everyone, so hearing him speak like this scares her a little.
‘Damn....these guys are PISSSSED.’ Fin thought, now pitying any SOBs who tried this shit now.
Guam gulped a little while Joshua and Rex are comforting Ashely, who is now worried about the mission.
“As you can see, this is where Ray lives. In the South Bronx, like the mercenary leader has stated. However...he has a few properties; a mansion in Riverdale which is straight north from the South Bronx. Not too far, another in the Hamptons, and one in Yonkers.” Eraserhead said before listing other properties.
“So the guy is lying-?” Denji growled, now wishing to chop the bastard’s dick off.
“No, the GPS is correct. The location acts as a checkpoint. Endeavor has arrested his associates who hand in giving the mercs weaponry and has given up Aaron’s whereabouts to us.” Eraserhead added. “We checked the properties with other fraction and it leaves Riverdale. Given the structure of the mansion, it is said to be that Decham lives on this property.
"That said, we have you two along with Atsushi, Rin and the DBT to go to Riverdale and apphrend Decham. We have yet to find Adam Ripper..."Dazai said.
This got the fraction leaders.
“Wait...are we not participating in this?” Rex asked.
“Oh no! I think it’s best if we leave in their hands.” Dazai smiles with a laugh. As if he knew what the six are capable of right now.
‘In their hands???’ Yuuka thought. Knowing Midoriya and Bakguo, they’re top of their class and work under Endeavor so they’re more than capable. So they can handle them. Atsushi? And nothing will stop them.
“Now let’s get this mission on the road!” Dazai laughed.
The fraction leaders has a feeling that Dazai is going to enjoy the destruction oif Ray Decham and his estate. Just like him, Kali nods. “Okay let’s do it. I will accompany them. We have rides! Bernard and Welsey can drive them there.”
“Jaron recovered so he can drive us there as well.” Shdwkyz stated.
“Hm...” Ren nods. And so the mission begins.

There were guards stationed around the manison and inside. There were maids and bulters around doing their routine of housekeeping. Further down the hall, Ray Decham is on a phone call near the pool at his backyard, talking to someone. “No. I haven’t heard anything from Condor and his team. yet” He said. “Huh?! You’re saying they failed?! How?! You said these guys are pros at what they do, Ripper! Tch. Those guys aren’t going to talk. Or else they can forget about being paid! Huh? Go with the back-up plan. Yeah, okay! That’s fine. I will do that.” Ray then blinks.
“Huh?! You’re leaving?! But what about the dragon?!”
Then he heard a loud explosion that made him stagger, making lose his balance and sits down on a chair.
“What the fu-” Ray heard it before he hears another explosion. A terrorist attack?! There is shouting and gunshots running out the building.
“B-boss! We’re under attack!!” Said a guard as he bursts through the doors. There were booming sounds and yelling as the guards were trying to fight something or someone.
“Hah!?! Under attacked?! By who?!” Ray asked. “The pro-heroes?!”
“Yeah...but uh..”
“Yeah but what?!” Ray demanded to know what’s going on.
“There’s six of them!” The guard cried.
“SIX?!” Ray yelled in disbelief.
----- Outside of the Ray’s Property ------
“Well shit! They go through the front?!” Kali said watching this thanks to Mouse and Fosh’s drones who is recording this on the scene. She is eating popcorn and passing this to Oblivion and Rust who are invested in this.
“I have my money on Atsushi here!” Dazai laughed, watching unfold. He is going to supervising this. Of course....
“I go with Bakugo...” Maggie said.
“Nah...Denji!” Rust said.
“You guys...” Fosh sighed while Yuuka sighs, “Can you guys take this seriously?!” This is serious but then again. Seeing how the guys took out professional mercernaries. Those guards are no match for them.
“This is going to be itneresting.” Hellmare said while sipping her frappe. “How much damage are they going to inflict.”
“Till the place in rubble.” Oblivion said.
“Yeah...no doubt about that.” Shdwkyz said. “They’re going to tear the place apart in search of Decham.”
“Shit.....” Navarro slumped his shoulders. He is thanking god that these guys are not the enemy because holy shit. They are fucking everyone up except for the housekeeping staff. They got fuck of there and went into hiding.
Navarro can hear the yelling from here.
And so the assualt on the manison begins....

· I went to game design school and the burnout was so severe that made me reconsider my career choices. Nowadays I work with translation but I also occasionally do freelancer jobs in many areas, although I tend to lean more to training games;
· Another of my interests is singing, I take lessons and I also used to go to swimming and drawing. I don’t consider myself particularly skilled on any of these activities, but I do it for fun. I’m actually very shy and decided to take some of these activities to work on my abilities to communicate better;
· One of my passions is to travel. Nowadays it isn’t viable, both financially and due to current events, but I have been to around 10 different countries. Material possessions come and go, circumstances may change, but one thing that will always belong to you are your memories and your experiences. ——— MUSE PREFERENCE !
· GENDER: I don’t have a preference but most of the time I rp male muses. I’m interested in their personalities first and foremost, and the stories we can tell with them.
· LEAST FAVOURITE FACE(S): I don’t have a least favorite faceclaim, although I do take some time and double take when someone uses a character from a popular fandom for their OC. Sometimes I find it hard to disassociate the popular muse from the concept of the OC and I do understand that not everyone can draw or know where to look for obscure characters – and many times obscure characters have a very limited selection of expressions so it might be hard. But that is a “me” thing.
· MULTI OR SINGLE: For many years I used to have only single muses blog but now I’m so happy and cozy with my multimuse. Maybe one day I’ll resume having single muses, but not anytime soon.
——— FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT ! ♡
· FLUFF: Yes please. Ok, let’s elaborate: I love fluff, but not on its own. It usually is part of a larger narrative, something to give a relief and something nice. I think it is important to have something to motivate the muses forward so they can have character development and their relationship get stronger and more profound along the way. Romantic, platonic, found family – give me all the relationships.
· ANGST: Hi, I’m addicted to angst. Well, in a way. I think that it is always good to have a conflict or a challenge to be overcome, a small “spice” to make the moments of fluff to feel even more rewarding. It isn’t angst for angst sake or to be edgy. Besides, life isn’t made only of good moments. I do understand when people want everything to be calm and gentle, to get away from problems and experience happiness – but overcoming angst is also something that I enjoy, a reminder that there’s hope. Hardships can be conquered, there is always the sun after a long night.
· SMUT: I used to write a lot of smut when I first started but it has been years since I stopped. I’m ace, so it doesn’t really appeal to me very much. I don’t mind writing it with my partners, specially when it is part of the story progression, but I’d never go out of my way to write. Besides, I also had some very bad experience with partners forcing ship and even sending NSFW material without asking if I was ok with that or before shipping.
· PLOT / MEMES: I like plotting! One of the best parts is to start talking to my rp partners about ideas and have this back and forth. It helps to learn my partner’s boundaries and get the thread going. Memes can also bring some good ideas and situations that might turn into something interesting.

Considering my bio is much talk without actually knowing who Anne is, or rather her personality, here are some of her personality points that I find the most important when it comes to interactions;
Anne is very affable on the outside. With her knack for playing roles and wearing masks, her job also requires her to chat someone up to get information. She is very likely to flirt with someone and hit on them, without any romantic goal – even if it ends in sex. She can be honestly friendly, but since she often wants or needs something, she naturally assumes that the other person does too. Strings attached everywhere. She might change her tactic depending on who she’s talking to, and how to approach them best. Or: Friendly Sniper until you happen to wander in front of her scope. On the other hand; she isn’t above taunting someone.
Anne is dangerous. Considering as a Kingsman agent, she had extensive combat training and she’s a very skilled markswoman and sniper, she knows how to hold herself very well in a fight, although she’d prefer if no one would see it coming. What makes it tricky, is that she is very prone to violence with low inhibitions. She manages to mask it very well, but when poked long enough, she will absolutely dish out, and she isn’t the type to hold back or stop before she is done either. If she wants someone dead, she will kill them. If she gets killed first, she will find a way to come back and finish the job. ( Of course, no muse gets hurt without the mun’s explicit approval. She’s just the type that if you fuck around, she will make you find out in the nastiest way possible. )
Anne is absolutely loyal. To Kingsman (or whomever, in other verses) and the people she actually loves and admires, and she would do anything for them and their approval. Which also means that she has her own morals and very much adheres to it, even if she plays it fast and loose with other things. Her highest priority is always her mission or assignment, no matter how it gets done.
Anne is emotionally detached. She has, due to the aforementioned things and PTSD troubles with emotional intimacy, plus the whole mantra of No Time For Emotion and maintaining a stiff upper lip, caused her to really go to distance. She doesn’t tell many people where she lives, has difficulties maintaining a friendship ( especially due to the nature of her job, where she can’t be present, but also doesn’t want to put anyone in danger ), and she’s the type to skedaddle instantly after a one night stand. She is lonely in her very very white and very cold flat that doesn’t look like somebody lives in it, but would never admit to it.
Still, she’s a very easy person to approach, or she will approach someone without any hassle, and I’m always happy about questions when it comes to her and how she would act or react in a certain situation.

man, this goes back to 2014 huh. i don't remember when i initially followed you, but i did for your great writing. your portrayal of gin is a favorite of mine and you're actually one of my favorite writers in the bleach rpc as a whole, as well. i love the interactions you have with lu and jackie, and i can't wait to get into some shenanigans together down the line. you're an incredible story teller and it's been an honor getting to watch you grow with gin.

EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): I’ve been writing since a year that begins with 19. I’ve come to accept I’ve been writing longer than some muns have been alive. Do not get me started on ‘back in my day’ stories about fandom and roleplaying communities.
PLATFORMS YOU’VE USED: In somewhat chronological order? AOL, Yahoo, AIM, YIM, Yahoo!Groups, Livejournal, Deadjournal/Greatestjournal, forums and emails, and tumblr. I missed the Myspace/Facebook/Twitter era of RP, mostly due to university monopolizing most of my time.
BEST EXPERIENCE: Meeting some RP friends in real life! We aren’t as close as we used to be, but I have acquaintances that I began writing with over 20 years ago, and I last saw one of them about 10 years or so. Real life jobs and new fandoms/interests/hobbies make it hard, but we stay in touch via Facebook.
RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: I have a lot of these, to be honest. Most of them I tend to just ignore the best I can, or I choose not to write with someone because of it. But the top three that annoy me (beyond formatting issues) are:
1. Not writing rules or bios and not reading rules or bios. For the most part, content and style differences can be accounted for and addressed early as long as muns both write and read rules and bios. Where bios are concerned, description definitely helps, even with ‘popular’ canon muses. It gives me an idea of how you see and describe your muse, as opposed to bullet point facts (age/race/sexual orientation/etc).
2. Muns who continuously ask for memes and new threads while not replying to any of the interactions they currently have. Mostly as this often leads to no real character growth or development and an overwhelmed mun restarting all of their interactions or the blog itself. To be fair, I understand if someone is new or has unexpected life issues that result in this: this is more for the chronic meme/thread hoarders who delete and restart constantly. I feel like those muns don’t really care for writing at all, just notifications and asks. Which is off-putting.
3. Muns who continuously ask for romantic ships while not replying to threads/interacting with blogs. This is mostly because I don’t write an insta-ship muse, I write a slow-burn muse, and generally approach romantic relationships based on threads and IC interactions: let her meet your muse first and get to know them, and see if the chemistry is there. I don’t go into writing with a mun with a romantic ship in mind, right off the bat: mostly because it’s hard to deliver with threads if my muse just isn’t feeling it.
However, I recognize it can help break the ice, and plot, for some mutuals to establish a romantic ship immediately. It just doesn’t work for my muse, and so I tend to be uninterested in writing romantic ships with blogs who continuously keep asking for them. Can’t our muses meet as friends, to start at least? ☹️
FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: Yes. I write all of these, as long as they make sense for the thread and interaction, and my writing partner is comfortable with these topics.
PLOTS OR MEMES: Also yes! I just don’t like one-liners or starter calls, mostly: I like having the guideline of a meme or a plot idea for someone before I write a starter.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Long. It’s always been that way for this blog. I use shorter replies as crack threads with mutuals, usually ones I have other established threads/interactions with.
BEST TIME TO WRITE: mid-afternoon to evening, after work and after I’ve had some caffeine in me. I’m most grouchy and tired in the morning, the entire morning.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): Sonia and I have some common interests and, since my own style veers on the side of classic, vintage, and feminine, I do style her in clothing pieces I own or would like to. We also both come from well-off families, and sometimes I throw in details or situations I’ve either seen or have heard about from others. But she’s very chipper, optimistic, and friendly, and I’m far more blunt, cynical, and sarcastic.
Sonia loves Shi.rou Emi.ya. I love Lord El-Me.lloi II. If that doesn’t show our differences, I’m not sure what does (I don’t often have anime husbandos but the grumpy professor does it for me!).

1. Favourite thing about roleplaying?
The whole collaborative process in general - what’s always drawn me to writing is not wanting to be an author or a writer personally, but the idea of getting to share ideas and craft a unique world with another person who felt as passionately about it as I did. Back when I was a kid, before I even knew what roleplaying was, I’d have these little back and forth MSN stories with people - like I’d write something, they’d add onto it. I found that so much more interesting than just the chatting and social media element to MSN and to this day, I still feel excited at the thought.
The reason I eventually found Tumblr was because I thought that Tumblr was a platform for a lot of different writers from many different fandoms who were able to come together and write together - whether that was collaborating on stories or fanfiction or RP, the environment on here has always felt very collaborative to me and I’ve always felt that Tumblr is full of passionate, amazing writers and it’s been so so fun to meet and to write with so many of them.
2. Least favourite thing about roleplaying?
I’d probably say just how fickle it is - like for example, it can be difficult to get into a good groove of things if you have a consistently busy schedule, like maybe shifts at a job or school to deal with - likewise, it can also be hard when you have partners who are in the midst of a busy period of their lives. I don’t blame them in the least of course - people have school, people have work, life just happens - that’s part of adulting, but it can be a little sad when you’re all excited about a ship or a plot and the other person isn’t around quite so much to share your excitement with.
There’s also writers block and just the loss of interest - I know for me personally, all of the muses who I stopped writing for in the past, I did mainly for one reason - I’d lost passion for them and their fandom. That doesn’t make them any less special to me and those blogs and interactions will always be very special to me but I find that trying to force yourself to write when the passion or drive just isn’t there anymore is a futile gesture. So many times I’ve felt like - and I know others do too - that they need to catch up on all of their replies, on their drafts - it starts feeling more like an obligation or a job than something you enjoy. I’ve had moments of crushing guilt when I realize just how behind I am or how many times I promised to plot with someone before life got in the way - it’s a difficult thing and it’s not because my mutuals are people who would blame me or make me feel guilty, it’s just an internal problem and one that I think a lot of people struggle with too. Best thing you can do is to just try not to blame yourself and don’t force yourself. If you have writers block, don’t be ashamed to maybe take a week off or explore another muse - hell, take a hiatus from Tumblr if you really feel it’ll help you.

Um… Heatwave isn’t violent….
Easily aggravated yes, but I can’t recall any point in the series where he’s actually gotten physically violent or aggressive with anyone... Even when he could have seriously hurt Doctor Morocco (off screen of course) for threatening Cody and Frankie, all he did was pin him to the wall unharmed
Watch the others’ reactions when he’s growling in frustration at them or stepping toward them. No one flinches away, no one cowers, because they know damn well that he won’t hurt them and how much he cares about them! Is he sarcastic? Yes. Does he throw insults? Also yes. But the others straight up throw it right back at him, fearlessly. He gets in High Tide’s face for yelling at Blades and is incredibly upset when the Squilsh eats Chase and does everything he can to get him back. He’s always the first one in (barring situations where one of the others is more knowledgeable) and always the last one out (again barring situations where someone more knowledgeable has to take care of it.) He. Loves. His. Teammates!
Okay, imagine landing on a completely alien planet and finding out that, while you’ve been ‘asleep’, your entire planet, your home, has fallen. You meet up with the guy in charge of taking down the bastards who destroyed your planet and tell him “Let’s go get ‘em!!!” Only to be immediately shot down and told: “Nope, you’re staying right here. And furthermore, you can’t tell anyone who you are or where you’re from… You and your team are basically going into the witness protection program on this tiny island.”
As if THAT’S not enough, you get paired with this complete aft who, even after learning what and who you are, still refuses to acknowledge you as anything more than a simple tool of his trade.
Heatwave has every right to feel resentful and angry in season 1. While the rest of his team is making headway and bonding with their partners, Kade is still treating him like crap. Plus, I imagine he just feels like he’s let Optimus down by not being there when Cybertron needed protecting, so he wants to make up for it by joining the actual battle, but Optimus keeps brushing him off, so that’s not helping his mood either.
Heatwave is very team oriented, he hates the fact that his team is being made to act like mindless robots, he wants his team to be able to join Optimus in fighting the Decepticons. In fact, when Optimus finally does make him an offer, as a test, Heatwave is flattered, but won’t go unless his team is included.
It’s really REALLY difficult for me to imagine Heatwave as a Decepticon. It takes a lot of selfish ambition to stray from a job that prides itself on helping others and working as part of a team, to a position where you’re constantly striving to outshine everyone else just so you can live to be backstabbed by a ‘teammate’ or punished by your boss another day…
I CAN see him admiring Megatronus’s original idea to do away with the caste system and making everyone more equal, but I think it would become clear to him very quickly just how far Megatron’s ideals have fallen if he ever witnessed a Decepticon recruitment drive or something like that.
This boy is about as antithetical to a Decepticon as it’s possible to get.

i think a lot of the time admins + players just don’t do a lot of research on fcs (which is valid esp in larger groups, and sometimes it isn’t always the first search result). and in my experience messaging a group or mun about the mistake won’t be ignored and they’ll change things as needed! but i’m also optimistic and can’t imagine someone purposely making a non-cis fc cis when there’s so many other options available.
i agree with this !
having had been an admin, myself, there have been times where i had to legitimately research fcs for almost an hour because different resources were stating different gender identities. most often, it winds up being the wrong gender identity depending on how old the source it.
honestly, i haven't had issues when bringing it up to the admins or sending an interview/article to players to clarify with legitimate information! educate over attack, and everyone gets better.
it's also tough cause gender is so fluid as well. like, for example, there's this artist phem. they first went by she/her, then she/they, then they/them and didn't announce it - they just changed their pronouns on insta all within a couple months' span. and demi is another artist who is frequently changing pronouns on social media platforms.
but this is also why muns within the trans and enby communities are important to have as voices on this platform. not only for them to empower one another, but to properly educate us through their personal experiences and stories (though it's not their job to educate us, by any means). so when they speak up about proper representation - we must listen, research, get better.

Story Summary: Alternate Universe- What if Anakin's mother survived and Anakin never went dark side. Padme has the twins on Tatooine and survives. Anakin tries to help the surviving Jedi, while still keeping his family secret. Meanwhile Darth Sidious has been crowned emperor and is going after the remaining Jedi. Rumors have it he's looking for a new apprentice. Anakin gets to be a daddy.
Chapter 79 - Translation Error
“Thank you, sir. You’ve been most generous in hosting us during these exchanges,” says Coleman Kcaj, the Jedi Master.
The Yrashu elder he is talking to doesn’t give any signs of recognition to what is being said. R2-D2, their droid escort, steps up. It is again time for him to facilitate communication.
When R2’s Master left him, he was ordered to help Rebel Techs with their daily chores around the Base on Yavin. R2 was happy to do this, really. The techs were nice, if a little dumb, and they really needed his help. But that got boring. His servers were craving something new. An adventure. So when he found out that the techs were working on creating a droid translator to send with the Jedi Negotiation team to Beskarn, well, R2 just had the best idea ever!
Modifying his systems to translate the language was easy. There was already a program that did that on the Alderanean servers. Installing it on his servers was easy! Even a Toddler could do that. Devising a way to “speak” the translation took a little more planning. Unlike C3-PO, R2-D2 lacks a vocal processor, and he couldn’t trust the primitive natives to the planet they were on to be able to understand Binary. In the end, he went with another device, networked to his systems.
R2-D2 uses these systems to translate the words the Jedi just said. Of course, being a translator droid isn’t as easy as plug and play. The word for Sir, alone, has several different options in the Yrashu language. But R2 selects the one logic tells him is best, and he sends the message along.
The speaker device Master Coleman is holding activates “Moo-ma vlox wham. Agotta toga-ram jrap pama nomoclan.”
He was rewarded a few moments later, when Sahnmaro Voy, the chieftain’s brother who was their host for the past week, gave them a smile. His face then turned serious. “Yill ibba kenedaro? Mun-momu Vem o lom Ug ushko.”
R2 perks up. It is for translating sentences like this one that he was brought along, instead of a simple translation computer. The word “Mun-momu” for instance could mean flood, it could also mean proving grounds or a chance for success. R2 chooses this last definition. They are exchanging pleasantries. It’s unlikely to mean anything else.
R2 sends his translation and it comes out of the device. “Where is your youngling? She will find success in the jungle today.”
Coleman bowed his head in return to the kind words, and he answered the first question. “My Padawan went to deliver a message to our people. She will be back in a few days.”
R2-D2 translated the message and Sahnmaro looked at them in surprise. Then he bowed his head and mumbled something to one of his people. Something about praying for the young one’s successful completion of her “momu.” The word worried R2 for a second. It was not in the translator, but then he shook it off. He was not asked to translate that sentence afterall.
R2 beeped an unnecessary pleasantry to the native who didn’t understand it, and followed his Jedi. Internally, he praised himself for doing such a satisfactory job. “I don’t know what C3-PO complains about so often. This is the easiest job ever! And I did it without snark. Well, alright. Maybe a little snark, but only in the right places,” R2 beeped to himself.

The Basics
No godmodding. This means you’re not allowed to dictate how my characters react/respond to anything, your characters cannot know everything/all the secrets about my characters without a good reason (such as being told this information by my characters or another character who knows, or getting my okay in OOC chat), assume a major development between my characters and yours, or have your character successfully nail every attack they make against mine and-or dodging/blocking every attack my characters make against yours.
Communicate with me if there are any issues or confusion about something
Muses =/= Mun; The character thoughts/opinions are not the writer’s thoughts/opinions
Be patient for replies. I work a full time job so I am working a lot and quite tired. Send me a reminder after 48 hours if you think it’s necessary

The Finer Points
Fights, Darker Themes, and Plotting
If we haven’t plotted for our muses to engage in combat or any sort of abusive scenario then please ask if it’s alright to shift gears towards that kind of scene first. I am open to writing any kind of violent scene but generally terrible at writing action, and very picky about what abusive themes I’ll engage with, so please don’t surprise me with either of the two.
Potentially violent scenarios don’t have to be a fully detailed disclosure either. It could be as simple as, “X wants to punch Y” and if I’m okay with it I’ll say “Palpatine voice: Dew it.” Then, we can begin discussing/plotting how the fight will go.
Truthfully speaking as well, I have very little combat writing experience so please have patience with my reply timing and be aware that I’ll most likely ask a lot of questions to make sure I’m understanding things correctly. I’m pretty much a newbie when it comes to this theme and I have trouble picturing written action, which makes it difficult for me to understand what’s going on.
If you do not have the patience for this though that’s okay too. We can handwave the scene to an agreed ending and move on our with our lives, no problem.
Certain forms of abuse and toxic personality traits are a major turn off for my muse, due to personal reasons that can be loosely boiled down to PTSD. So if I say no to something - whether it’s a plot or an entire muse - please respect that boundary. I will not write themes with:
Domestic abuse
Parental abuse
Emotional abuse
If you have any questions about what is or isn’t okay with me, feel free to ask! I take no offense to being asked for details and there is no harm in discussing limits. This is just a general guideline to help you understand what I’m not okay with.
Don’t spring plots on me without discussing them beforehand. I’m not against plots happening, I just don’t like being surprised.
Trading Threads
I will not reply to asks or threads for muses looking to trade with Redstrike without narrative purpose or prior discussion. I am okay with Redstrike being credited as the source of an item as a means of making connections/establishing plausibility provided I’ve been given a heads up about it beforehand, but I don’t like writing threads that are solely focused on making a basic exchange between muses because it’s repetitive to me. I want action and purpose if there is trading, not another typical day at the grocery store.

Duplicate & Multiverse Friendly
I’ll play with any character - canon or OC - and I’m not exclusive with anyone either so I’m more than happy to play with multiple versions of the same character.
I’ll play with any character regardless of where their base continuity is or if they’re something completely original. Redstrike is fixed in a TF:P based world but that doesn’t mean he can’t branch out of it.
I’ve spent a lot of time building the world Redstrike lives in though so the characters that exist in his world are NPCs - meaning there’s really no assuming or fulfilling the role. Everything and everyone is from the multiverse from his perspective.
M!A Spells & Anonymous Interaction
I will accept all magic anons (M!As) but I retain the right to turn down/delete ones that do not strike my interest or make me feel uncomfortable. If the latter happens, I will do my best to elaborate on what exactly made me uncomfortable so it can be avoided in the future.
General messages will be answered normally and treated like messages on the datanet. Anonymous messages that suggest, imply, or depict physical interaction with a muse will be treated like an NPC.
