anyways i havent settled on a suitable understanding of ghosts within the dp universe which is REALLY hindering my writing about it
#ghosts sort of require mind body dualism .... which i dont love.#sort of thinking of the ghost zone as a metaphysical realm layered over the physical one#it sort of functions as an ocean w currents and stuff and a reverse ecto snow type thing that ghosts feed on like marine snow#then ghosts can also hunt for stuff on the physical side of things which gives them motivation to come and cause havoc#but theres also a ghost ectosystem that sustains deeper populations/more esoteric ghosts#also i lovethe idea of dead languages being spoken in the ghost zone lol#but ghosts come from the living - either as real physical things or dead ideas etc but from there they can change#so u can get werewolves and dragons etc - concrete ideas can warp ghosts and ghosts can warp themselves provide they have the energy to#idk im still trying to iron stuff out#fanon dp stuff is fun but i have Thoughts#phantom tag#canis speaks
