i'm really a fan of how darius seems to surround himself with people that have him exasperate a lot of time.

i'd like to continue that trend with the previous golden guard.

like imagine teen!darius who acts as of he is soo much more mature than his peers and totally above their childish nonsense (which is like only 20% true)

and then there is his mentor who is very serious and competent while on duty as golden guard. but he puts on a prince charming act or he will joke around and act sillier than necessary.

it initially annoys darius so so much because he tries really hard to be all serious and grown up just for... this.

"why so serious and uptight? you are like, 14. we should go play a prank or something to lighten the mood."

darius is 15. he knows his mentor knows. he is totally just trolling him.

obviously darius comes to greatly care for and admire his mentor but yeah

i think he is generally one to need some time to grow fond of people haha
