On Tuesday I had one of the worst crits ever while operating on 3 hrs of jetlagged sleep. It was one of those crits where you're trying to explain your concept, which is deeply rooted in your identity and the inherent conflict it has with the men around you, to the men around you lma and ones that have disrespected you time and time again. My work deals with esoteric rites, worship, and gender and identity through the lense of religious art techniques--both in an attempt to understand the symbolic "woman" and the feeling of "woman". This parallels my inability to understand the feeling of "faith". I use archetopical symbolism to construct my pieces. The pieces like I said are deeply rooted in being an andro lesbo, and I frankly and too recently soft-out to want to discuss to a group of jackoff art dudes that sort of venerable content.

And ofc to a room full of 30-40nyr old men this is totally incomprehensible, and me refusing to explain in great detail what each piece or symbol mean (again, cuz THAT'S THE POINT AND ALSO THE PIECE SHOW WAS ABOUT MY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH MEN IN ACADEMICS, I.E. THEIR ASSES!,) was totally unacceptable. I spent the whole time trying to explain why I wasn't going to explain the deeper meaning of the pieces and them then giving confusing, mean, replies. My prof at home point said "yeah if an atosy doesn't explain what their work means in a gallery I just walk right by it" which is such bullshit Idek where to start. For one this sort of esoteric art is SOOOO historically rooted and common that is a fun in lie. Like viewer interpretation of peices with repeated symbols being placed above clear explanation is not only common, but also incredibly important. 2ndly uh no the fuck you wouldn't. My work is visually good enough to stand on its own which again, IS THE WHOLE POINT OF MY CONCEPT. these fucks get so caught up in "woman no give me what I want" that they totally overlooked the actual piece in the room in favor of trying to pry shit out of me simply because I didn't want to freely give it to them. Because of that I got NO formal feedback, NO comments on the actual Piece. NO suggestions of what to do/take away visually, NO comments on craft, NO useful shit at all!!!

And this is more minor- I happened to have been accepted into a very competitive apprenticeship, yippieee! I posted it to my story the day before. My prof saw it, no likes, not message, no nothing this dude goes out of his way to congratulate every dude in the class on whatever they achieve. This guy has told us to aim and achieve high and tell us about our achievements so he can brag about his students. Anyways fays forward to class the next day- and mind you I hadn't had a chance to talk to him and tell him, considering his ass showed up late to HIS CLASS. We go through class announcements, and another student asks me in front of everyone "hey didn't you get that apprenticeship? Co grays dude that's awesome!" n I was like "oh thank uu ^_^"

What does my prof do? Absolutely nothing. Totally ignored that happens. No smile, no mention, no Congratz, no nothing. Just moves on. And the whole class he's like, peeved at me. So my crit with this asshole the same day after all this shit.

What's annoying is this prof is nonconfrontational to an infuriating point. If he realizes he was a dick, he will never apologize, he'll just do what me and other girl students have dubbed "puppy dog mode" where he acts like a friendly little kicked puppy, and will try to be all extra niceys, which is just annoying and frankly infantilizing. Like dude you're what, 43? Just say you're fucking sorry like dawg we are all adults in a graduate academic course let's be so fucking real. And that's even if he feels like he HAS done something wrong.

"Getting Pardew vibes off Bruce now" - These Newcastle fans fuming with "hypocritical" comments

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to express their anger with Steve Bruce after they heard his comments on Joelinton.

The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder revealed that the former Sunderland boss said that the Brazilian striker “has got to learn and improve” following the 4-0 defeat to Arsenal, in which Joelinton once again failed to find the back of the net.

The 23-year-old still has just one Premier League goal to his name following a £40m move from Hoffenheim back in the summer, and he is in danger of being branded as a flop.

Against the Gunners, Joelinton won a huge eight aerial duels, although he had five unsuccessful touches and zero shots on target.

Bruce also said that he has to keep reminding the Brazilian to get himself into the box, before bringing up the striker’s terrible goal record.

However, a number of Newcastle fans have been angered by these comments, with some suggesting that the Magpies’ playing style is hindering Joelinton’s ability to get involved offensively – having scored the second-fewest Premier League goals and also created the second-fewest ‘big chances’, the Tynesiders really don’t seem to be the most creative nor clinical team around.

To kick off the reaction, Craig Middleton said that Bruce “loves blaming everyone but himself” before calling him the “epitome of a true yes man” – brutal.

So he’s blaming Joelinton now? He’s ruining him, he was in the box all the time at Hoffenheim. I wonder why what happened? He’s getting absolutely no service at all, so the least he could do is to help defend (because that’s all we do anyway)

Elsewhere, Lucas said that Bruce is “ruining” Joelinton before adding that the forward is struggling for service.

@ShelveyGoat then backed up that point, telling Bruce that the striker’s poor goalscoring return is his fault and that he shouldn’t make the team sit back all game – the aforementioned ‘big chances created’ stat reinforces this.

😂 This is so hypocritical. Bruce manages him. Sets him up in a system where service is non-existent. Please ask Steve if he’d kindly like to leave at the earliest convenience.

Craig Longmore branded the comments as “hypocritical” before telling Ryder to ask Bruce to leave the club.

John Gorman then made the hard-hitting statement that he’s “getting Pardew vibes” off the Magpies boss now.

Then, Brett said that Bruce’s lack of football knowledge baffles him, before reminding the man in charge that he “can’t keep blaming everyone else” – brutally honest from this fan.
