hey i know u didnt mean anything malicious with it but i really dont think calling people dumb and telling them to go read a book is a great look when u have followers with things like learning and intellectual disabilities who can see that kind of rhetoric come from ur mouth

#the specific point of the post was the lack of reading comprehension that people on this site have#so let's go over the post. ex gifted kids using burnout as an excuse to not engage with any sort of internal assessment#and just complain about being dumb. beyond this short vent post. that is often grating to listen to and constantly hear when people with#learning disabilities have had to work exponentially as hard in the same rigorous and demeaning environment#2nd. the tag was gifted to iep -> the person who made the comment = me also has a learning disability#so going to other disabled people and telling them that the way they express frustration is wrong is really annoying#3rd. the read a book comment stems from a common phrase to mean go educate yourself. it does not need to be an actual book#so I am sorry that sometimes words said in the moment not intended for you can bounce back and feel insulting#but you have gotta get a backbone and realize not everything is about you#that might feel harsh but it is 8am and school is a very specific sore spot for me#also “bad look” I am not an influencer I am a 19 year old dropout on a personal tumblr blog#if you are my friend then come to me and we can have a conversation. if you are not then you really need to learn when things#are not actually a problem#delete later#I try to be very nice and that is not fake but this sort of thing irks me

Hey hey, I’m Neeno! I’m twenty-five and use she or they pronouns (though I do usually prefer they/them when you can!). VETOHQ was my little creation. It was around back in 2014 (yikes) and this is its first revamp, although I wouldn’t really call it that since I’m the only person from the OG that’s here as far as I know! i think ASTRID LOCKE is working at veto as a SERVER now. i believe SHE will do well, because they’re OUTGOING and BRAVE. that said, the 19 year old can also be pretty IMPULSIVE and HARSH, which might hinder their performance. they are working FULL-time and are from COMPTON, CALIFORNIA. — female / ester exposito.

backstory.
astrid was born and raised in california to a single mother and an older half brother named stephen.
her biological father was just a one night stand from the years her mother had spent as a groupie. he was in a toronto-based punk band called Hades, that is now retired.
though she had occasional infrequent contact with her father, the two didn’t keep in touch much.
her environment was very free, always able to make her own mistakes without much parental guidance.
her brother acted as a sort of shield to the outside world and his biological father took astrid under his wing too, always taking her out to eat and whatnot.
the two of them were her rock, to say the least. at fifteen, however, stephen’s father suffered a massive heart attack and died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
at seventeen, she moved out of her home.
her mother would bring home boyfriends who were often not much short from evil and she’d had enough, moving in with stephen and a couple of his friends.
the house was riddled in drugs, but it wasn’t something she wasn’t used to. her childhood home was very simular.
then, just after her 18th birthday, stephen overdosed on the heroin they’d both been using and died while astrid waited for an ambulance to arrive.
they all moved out of the house then and astrid made the drastic decision to get far far away.
so she moved to toronto, to be closer to her biological father and to potentially get to know him.
she took on a job at veto, which was gruelling hours and not the best tips, but something at least.
she managed to get mostly clean and moved so she lived in the apartment over from her father.
she’s dating someone (totally looking for this connection), but they’re open because astrid can’t really commit.
