you know I was so excited to move on from my lab job and do health care because I wanted to do meaningful work that wasn't for the purpose of making a businessman richer, unfortunately I live in america
#all of our city hospitals are being bought by businesses and they're closing hospitals too#trying to get people what they need is a goddamn nightmare. I'm studying the insurance situation rn and it's like. evil#I mean overall#I do find my work meaningful and I really enjoy it*#BUT I also feel very helpless and angry in my limited role because it's so clear what people need (housing food respect childcare)#but we can't give it to them! we can refer them to people who may not even have the resources#I just really want to work in surgery that's all I ask#should have gone for surgical tech perhaps#*I've had great experiences but there are are also really horrible situations I've seen#and there are fields I am absolutely never going into#and ways that people I've shadowed or peers have spoken that have been so disturbing#the system is real fucked#and yet. we can't do without health care#cor.txt
