Disclaimer: I took an inordinately amount of time to ponder and write the following. Last lost occasion was just before the most Recent Blunder - not exactly the best moment to mention other Oriental affairs.

Last mid-December, we all (yes, even me) watched this, live from Madrid:

This moment was important, in many ways, and at the time, the focus was on the personal acknowledgements part of the speech. One of my very first posts on this damn blog even deals with some elements of context overlooked by many. Mordor has pretzeled its collective quarter neuron to try and demonstrate, once more, 'he didn't mean it like that' (he did exactly mean it like that, mind you). Some even bravely tried to link S to 'Mysterious Muslim Woman nr. 6625' (to no great success). Finally, Norouzi was mentioned, in more or less salaciously insinuating overtones . A ready-made explanation for something they simply could not grasp: it's a bit more complicated than Bridgerton's plot, I am afraid. Everything about that evening was discussed, apparently ad nauseam.

But not the Persian reference. That went completely under the radar and I think it's a shame. So why that reference?

It was everywhere. On October 28 2022, in Buenos Aires, for example, Coldplay (and the exiled Persian actress Golshifteh Farahani) were openly supporting on stage the Persian women's unprecedented protests. This specific wave of protests followed the horrendous assassination of Mahsa Amini, a student who died while in police custody for the crime of 'wearing her headscarf improperly', on September 22, 2022:

So no Muslim woman and - I bet the farm - no Alex Norouzi were instrumental in this choice. Someone else was. A someone who openly protested, too and at a very early moment: as early as October 1st, 2022. Kindly refer to the 0:28 mark:

This made no waves, at its time, either on X or Tumblr. It wasn't exactly convenient to the Narrative, you see. And Norouzi, spare for being Persian himself - something else that escaped the Mordorian intelligentsia for almost five years (!) - is, in my humble opinion, quite a different story altogether.

I started to write a horrendously long post about history, culture and all the personal rest. But I realize it would just be too much. I would simply discuss AN, the Add-on a bit later: that should make things more clear.

Alex is SH's business partner, but Norouzi is not mentioned in any Nobleman magazine categories in this Photoshop in Los Angeles, California. However, the interest in his partner's activities seems to go beyond the simple alcohol business; he shows too much ambition inappropriately, as he meddles in matters that are none of his concern. Now he has become a collector 🤔

Now, in his experience, finding alcohol can't be complicated. Of course, if he’s allowed to promote alcohol and cocktails during Ramadan, the only obstacle is his conscience. Despite his relaxation of the rules, for anyone promoting, transporting or consuming laws regarding alcohol are still very strict.

He should respect his religious festivity with his family, and stop being interested in businesses with incorrect practices on a holy month, and not associate himself with alcoholic or frivolous activities since Ramadan is not expected to end until April 9. He should be more respectful or Alex is interpreting his faith his way based on his principles because that would express concern.

Oh, that's an interesting post.

 I believe I read about it on one of the blogs. There were a few names mentioned there, but I only googled two of them, which I now remember.

Everybody knows Alex Norouzi is Iranian.

Iranian actor Kamran Darabi-Ford played Robin in Batman Live.

His roommate for a long time, Nicholas Karimi, is Iranian.

Sam and Nicholas lived for a long time maybe that is why he likes and cares about Iranian People. Who knows?

Oh well, there can be more than one connection of course. It's just that I see Djamili actively posting about the situation in Iran on IG. And I know S scrolls his timeline and most of his interests or following comes from there.

I can't confirm if AN is Iranian, well, actually he's not I mean he a US citizen for all I know and born in Hamburg. It's all possible his heritage is Iranian, I just did not research and can verify it. So wont make a statement and assume it is a fact. I don't recall AN saying so or talking about it either to my knowledge.

Wait. Ship on and don't panic are things you've said a few times. Who is panicking? Why wouldn't we still ship? Are there "shippers" who actually think Sam and Alex have a thing? I said "shippers" not anti's (I know what they think). It drives me bonkers that Sam isn't allowed to have friends of either sex (never mind business partners). Before Alex it was Luke and/or Matt Neal.

That is a very good question and thank you for finally asking it: I think it was much needed.

Maybe panic is not exactly the right word; that being said, I wanted to trigger a reaction. And judging by your speedy comment, I was right on the money.

After ten years of shenanigans and innuendos, our troops are weary. Much of the sadness that punched me in the gut, as soon as I opened this page, came from at least five years of non-stop, unsanctioned and therefore perfectly irresponsible bullying from Mordor. It is one thing for the leads to try (and fail miserably) to gaslight part of their fans. It is another thing altogether to see a faction of the fandom constantly trying to gaslight the other one.

This has consequences: some people are tired, confused and also very thirsty. Some play both sides (I know who you are and you will soon be blocked, all of you). It is not easy to tell who's who and much less to trust someone: I consider myself immensely lucky to have almost immediately met some extraordinary people that I consider friends. So maybe it's my Southern mamma side, but yes - I do tell people not to panic for nothings, in an attempt to prevent/stop unneeded drama.

As for Norouzi... that guy only had to be spotted at the Keepers of the Quaich gala for vicious speculation to immediately start. The Dimwit from Madrid bets her quarter of a braincell that S's coming out is imminent. Meow Kabob dragged herself out of her basement, after two weeks of eerie silence (I wonder why...). Many newbies are confused and probably shocked at the state of play - and what is worse, unwilling or unable to choose a camp.

And look at you, thoughtful Anon, perfectly summing up the situation: 'Sam isn't allowed to have friends of either sex (never mind business partners).'

How come, 'isn't allowed'? That is such an arresting thing to say.

The very way you worded it speaks volumes. About how ridiculous and abusive this whole dynamic is. About how mean and stupid these people are. And then be glad S doesn't give a flying fuck anymore about whatever this fandom thinks. It is my firm conviction and I am glad it is so. It is the only way to remain sane when you know you are the focal point of all this menagerie.
