You and Bradley had met each other in college, both taking engineering classes at Virginia. You two became awfully close and were inseparable. You felt in your gut he was it and you thought so too when he introduced you to his uncle Pete, or Mav, his callsign he was given being a pilot in the Navy. He was all the family he had. Bradley always said Mav was like a dad to him growing up. He said he wanted to be just like Mav and his dad. He wanted to fly just like them. You were the happiest girl in the world and nothing could ever change that as long as you had Bradley…..
Isn’t 21 supposed to be fun? You had been so stressed and sad ever since Bradley was deployed. This was his first deployment since being in the Navy. You spent all your days home slumped on the couch binge-watching every show possible to pass the time, but I don’t think you could watch another year worth of TV shows… or maybe you could? Bri, your best friend, and roommate planned for you and a couple of others to go to the Hard Deck to get you out for some fun. So against your will, you went and had some drinks and finally started to let loose and have fun.
Some drinks later, you felt a wave of sickness hit you when you were out at the Hard Deck with your friends. You thought maybe it was the drinking not sitting well with you. You were never really good with holding your liquor. So you excused yourself to the bathroom. You barely made it before you were falling to your knees head in the toilet throwing up everything you had in your stomach. You felt dizzy and began to throw up again. The room was spinning and you just laid up against the wall until everything was still. You finally gathered yourself and made your way to the mirror. You rinsed with some water and wiped your mascara that was now running down your face. You popped in a mint and straightened out your shirt before you went back out to meet with your friends. You tapped on your best friends shoulder and let her know you were going to head home.
Y/n: “Hey girl, I’m not feeling very great.” You let her know, your eyes were still glossy. “I think im going to head home.”
Bri: “Oh no! Are the shots of whiskey catching up with you?” She looked at you concerned. “I can take you, I haven't had anything to drink tonight.” She offered looking around for some water.
She handed you some water and you drank the whole glass. You started to feel unstable. “I’m never drinking like that again.” You thought to yourself.
Y/n: “Please? That would be great! I’m feeling a little dizzy again.” You said starting to sweat.
Bri:”Of course, let me just grab my things.” She said as she turned to grab her purse.
You started to feel weak, you sat on the barstool near you and began to blackout. “Oh my gosh! Y/n!” Was the last thing you heard before you hit the floor.
You woke up on your couch the next morning, smelling like the whisky you had the night before. You were sweating all the alcohol out of your system. Your best friend came over to you with a banana shake and some ibuprofen.
Bri: “Hey sleepyhead. How are you feeling?” She said as she handed you the shake and medicine.
Y/n:  “Like a million bucks.” You said as you took the medicine and chugged down the shake. “What happened to me?”  You folded your arms and sat back against the couch.
Bri: “You had quite the ride last night. You passed out face first into the barstool next to you, after you asked me to take you home.” She laughed. “How is your head?” She sat at your feet and rubbed your leg.
Y/n: “It feels fine, I had way too much to drink last night.” You put your face in your hands. “Never let me do that again please.” You said In embarrassment.
You looked over to the patio door and saw how bright it was. “What time is it?”
You pulled out your phone and looked at the time, 2 PM. “Great, I missed the opportunity to text Brad before he went to bed.” You threw your phone next to you and laid back again.
Bri stayed quiet for a little bit and bit down on her lip before asking, “Do you think he will actually respond this time?”
Y/n: “He’s working in a completely different place and time zone. I know he will respond when he can.” You smiled weakly knowing its already been 2 weeks and nothing from him. Not even an “I’m here now" email, text, call, messenger bird, something.
More time passed and you started to feel really sad again, you had no energy. You barely were eating and when you did, you would just throw up. You didn’t feel like yourself. You just felt off. You were sad because it had almost been another month and you hadn’t gotten anything from Bradley, you almost started resenting him.
You couldn’t figure out what it was. You two were so happy when he was here, it seemed he had the same feelings you were feeling. But now just the cold shoulder, you were getting nothing. It's like he got what he wanted from you and now he’s done. Like you were his “just in the moment, while he was home” kind of person. You always gave him the benefit of the doubt and would say he’s just getting used to everything with being away, settling in, getting used to the work and the hours. You just wanted to feel better about the situation. You knew Bradley wouldn’t hurt you like that. You always said when he has the time, he will get back to you. But more and more time kept passing. You kept calling/texting/emailing and nothing. You started to think that maybe he changed his number and forgot to tell you.
It’s been 2 1/2 months and still nothing from Bradley. You started to text and call him less. You started to just try to get back to your life before him. At this point you were mad at him, making you wait, putting you constantly into a bad head space; wondering if something bad had happened to him. You were beyond hurt. You were being left in the dark on purpose now.
Tonight, you and Bri went out to the Hard Deck to have a couple of drinks. The two of you sat at the bar having conversation with Penny. You all were just having causal conversation and Mav came in and sat down with you. He hugged you and Bri and gave Penny a kiss.
Mav: “Hey Y/n. How have you been with Bradley gone on his deployment?” He said with a loving smile.
Y/n: “I actually am fine.” You said monotoned then pressed your lips together and giving him a small smile.
Mav cocked his head at you and looked a little concerned at the tone of your voice. “Do you get to talk to each other as much as you’d like?” His eyes now narrowed at you and took a sip of his drink Penny had just given to him.
Y/n: “We haven’t talked since he’s left.” You took a deep breath. “He doesn’t respond to any of my calls or texts.” You said now looking down at your drink, counting the ice cubes.
Mav: “Oh I see.” He looked at Penny with wide eyes and she gave him the same look back.
Bri saw their exchanges with each other. “What’s going on, Mav?” She said now eyeing the both of them.
Mav opened his mouth slightly and looked at Penny who now turned around to serve some Pilots that just walked in. “I, uh..” He stopped. “I can’t imagine…he doesn’t have the time. I have a buddy of mine who’s son is out there with him and I talk to him all the time. I don’t really talk to Bradley very much anymore, but my buddy’s son is always out with him during their free time after work.” He started to tap his finger on this glass and looked at you nervously.
Your head shot up to him saying that he LITERALLY has some free time. You furrowed your brows, “Im sorry, what?”
You started to feel it again, the nausea. The over whelming taste of saliva in your mouth. Everything went silent, your ears were ringing and your vision blurry. You weren’t going to make it to the bathroom this time. You ran out the back door to the beach and threw up right then and there. Right on the edge of the deck, barely missing it and into the sand. Mav and Bri came running to you and comforting you as you kept on throwing up. Your knees on the deck, you were hunched over, hands buried in the sand. Bri holding your hair and Mav rubbing your back saying they’ve got you.
Bri and Mav looked at each other very concerned for you. They were comforting you as you kept on heaving and releasing everything you had in your system. Mav covered his face in disbelief. This wasn’t the Bradley he knew, he would never just leave you hanging. He wished he could do more, but at that specific moment in their lives they had no communication.
You were hurt, why was he ignoring you? Why did he want you to hurt? And why were you so damn sick? Wait…you’ve been sick. Shit.
You slowly got up and rubbed your hands together to get the sand off. Bri and Mav looked at you with concern. Bri rubbing your arm and Mav pushing hair out of your face as you looked at them scared.
Mav: “Are you okay?” No response. “Y/n, you okay? You okay?” He said now cupping your cheek.
Y/n: “Can I have some water, Mav? I just- uh need to get this taste out of my mouth…” You said looking at him scared.
Mav: “Yea, of course. I'll go get some.” He went back into the bar to get you some water leaving you and Bri alone.
Bri: “Honey, what’s wrong? You’re really scaring me.” She said brushing our hair behind your ear. “Is everything okay?”
Y/n: “Bri, Ive been so sick. Like sick sick.”
Bri: “Yea we know you can’t handle liquor, y/n.” She cocked her head at you and let out a little chuckle. “It happens to everyone girl. Just let it all -”
You cut her off, “No girl. I’VE BEEN SICK!” You looked down and covered your mouth.
Bri: “No…you don’t mean…” her eyes were wide. She gasped.
Mav: “Here’s your water y/n.” He gave you the water. “Can I get anything else for you, sweetheart?”
You grabbed the water and chugged it. You hugged Mav, “Thank you Mav but we have to go.”
Mav hugged you tight, “Im so sorry Y/n. If you need anything, I’m just a call or text away. No matter the time or place.” He rubbed your arm and hugged you again.
You grabbed Bri’s hand and ran for the car. Bri drove quickly to the nearest store. You were shaking when she came back with the pregnancy test. You were terrified. You’ve drank a couple of times. You haven’t been eating a lot. You hadn’t even thought of being pregnant as a possibility. You were so scared. You weren’t being the best mom you could have been or should have been if you were pregnant. You felt so guilty.
You finally got home and busted through the door and ran to your bathroom. You peed onto the small pink stick and set it face down onto the counter. You threw a tissue over it and didn’t want to see it. You set a timer and paced around your bathroom. Bri was out sitting on your bed waiting for you to come and tell her the result. She gave you your privacy as you waited.
A million thoughts ran through your head. “Ive only had sex once. Jesus Christ, y/n… THAT’S ALL IT TAKES!” You said to yourself in a loud whisper. You were pacing up and down your bathroom. “C’mon hurry up you damn thing.” You stood at the counter watching the timer count down. You tapped your fingers on the counter top. “C’mon, c’mon, c’mon.”  You took a deep breath and cover your face as you leaned against the cold wall behind you. Then finally your timer went off. You took your hands slowly off of your face and just stared at the tissue that was hiding your fate. You slowly walked over and stopped the timer on your phone.
Those two minutes were the longest two minutes of your life. You pulled the tissue off of the test and dropped it on the floor next to you. You were shaking as you picked up the test. You flipped it over and it  revealed the two little pink lines. You gasped. “Holy shit….” You were frozen. You couldn’t breathe. All you could hear was your heart pounding in your ears. You put your hand up to your mouth and looked at yourself in the mirror. You started to sob. At first quietly. Then you gasped louder and the tears running down your face. You couldn’t catch your breath. You were terrified. Bri came running in to comfort you. You sat in her embrace the whole night in the bathroom crying. What were you going to do? How were you going to do this? How were you going to raise his child?

Home is wherever I'm with you - P. Mitchell (part 2)
Tumblr media
After two months of being apart, Maverick is finally back home. But for some reason, his wife wasn't home for those two months either, even when she stayed in their house and didn't go anywhere else. The wait is always worth it, she thinks. It's always worth it for her husband.
a/n: sorry it took me so long to post this😭 im so glad for you guys to finally read this and I really hope you all like it. it's late and I'm going to bed, so goodnight kisses to u all. the last one was really sad but u deserve happiness so here's this nice, happy, fluffy, anticipation fic <3
•─────────────•°•❀•°•─────────────•
July 16th. The sixteenth day of the seventh month of the was the day that y/n Mitchell would finally get to see her husband for the first time in two months. She had been so worried about him, waiting for updates every week but becoming anxious every morning about receiving a call that she never wanted to get. Knowing Maverick so well meant that she also knew how perfectly his call sign matched him, and that he was more than willing to take unimaginable risks that she didn’t even want to think about.
The night before she’d been restlessly walking around the house, unable to sleep. She had spent the last couple days making sure their house looked spotless, cleaning the dust off every surface, making everything perfectly organized, and stocking the fridge. Though she did it partly so Mav would feel at home when he was back, she mostly did it because she needed something to focus all her excitement into so she wouldn’t explode. So, instead of sleeping, she made sure every single nook and cranny had been accounted for. Before reaching the kitchen, she was far too sleepy and only peeked through the doorway with blurry eyes.
She woke up still feeling tired, but the knowledge that her husband was finally coming home after what felt like forever was the only thing she needed to get her out of bed. After having breakfast and taking a shower, she sat on their bed in a robe and her hair wrapped in a towel, waiting for the admiral’s call about the time the pilots would be arriving at the base.
The phone rang and she picked it up, not even letting it finish its first ring before she did.
“Hi, y/n. How are you, honey? Do you wanna come over? We can go pick up Nick and Pete up and go for dinner afterwards, if you want”, said Carole, on the other side of the line.
“Carole! I thought it was the admiral, but yes, I would love to.” Y/n answered.
Carole knew how hard it was for y/n when her husband left and she also knew that y/n needed a shoulder to lean on when he was either leaving or coming back. Frankly, though, she also wanted to have someone there with her today, and they spent a lot of time together when their husbands were gone.
“I’m going to finish getting ready and I’ll come over in like 20 minutes”, y/n said.
“Ok, see you soon!”, replied Carole, with a smile on her face that could be heard through the phone.
When they were off the phone, y/n got dressed, put some things in her purse and made a final walkthrough of the house. She knew that she would likely not be back home until after she and Carole picked their husbands up from the base, so she wanted to make sure everything was just right for when both her and Maverick came back home.
On the drive to Carole’s house, she turned up the radio and rolled the windows down, letting her hair flow in the wind and get tangled in her sunglasses. The roof of the car was down and she was smiling with the wind blowing in her face.
Then, as if in fate’s hands, the song that played on the radio as she was driving back home from her first date with Maverick came on again.
The sound filled her ears and made her mind slow down a little bit. It hit her once more than just in a few hours she’d be seeing her husband for the first time in months and it both terrified and calmed her all at once. She would always worry that maybe life back here was boring for Maverick when he came back from those high adrenaline missions he was sent on. She was scared that maybe she wasn’t enough sometimes, an irrational fear she had since marrying Pete. But even then, the smile that overtook her features softened and became a gesture filled with love and peace.
Pulling into Carole’s driveway, she could see her holding little Rooster on her hip. He had the biggest smile plastered across his face that matched Carole’s own.
Y/n got out of the car, Bradley running up to hug her legs and extending his arms so she would pick him up. Once he was on her hip, they went into the house and sat in the living room.
“Sorry the living room is kind of a mess, Bradley was playing with his toy planes because he says he wants to make daddy feel at home when he came back”, said Carole.
“God, he looks just like Goose, Carole”, y/n told her friend as Rooster was back at it, playing on the rug with his planes.
Carole made coffee for both her and Y/n, then sitting on the couch together to talk.
“Has the admiral called yet?”, asked Carole.
“I don’t think I’ve gotten a call yet. It’s making me nervous.”, y/n replied, looking down into her mug and swirling it around.
“Don’t worry, honey. You know he can call whenever. I’m sure they’re all fine, we would know already if they weren’t”, Carole replied, putting her arm on her friend’s shoulder.
30 minutes had barely passed when the house phone rang.
“Hello? Yes, this is she”, Carole answered.
“Alright, thank you very much! How is Maverick, by the way? I have a very concerned wife over here who wants to know”, she said, glancing at her friend who was now standing right next to her.
“Tell his wife that he’s just fine”, said the admiral, a little louder in hopes y/n would hear him.
“Alright, thank you very much. Bye!”, said Carole, hanging up the phone.
Sighing with relief, y/n sat back down.
“So, they’re supposed to get back at around 5:30”, said Carole.
A couple of hours had passed, the three had eaten lunch and Bradley had been down for a nap for around an hour. They were about to start the drive to the base because it was around half an hour and they definitely did not want to be late.
“I’m going to go get touched up”, said y/n, getting up and taking the makeup and hairbrush she had in her purse.
“I’m going to go wake Bradley up and get us ready too, because that kid can definitely be a piece of work”, laughed Carole.
Both women got up and went off to do their thing.
In the mirror, y/n looked herself in the eyes. She’d been waiting for this moment, dreaming about it. She needed it to be perfect. Her Mav was coming home and it had to go off without one single hitch so he could feel at home once he was back.
Her eyeliner was a little blurred so she redid it, she put some more blush on her cheeks, and decided to hold off on lip gloss until they were close. She took a step back, running her hair through her fingers and then deciding it needed brushing. She smoothed her white sundress out, taking deep breaths and smiling at her reflection.
Once Carole and Rooster were ready, the three left the house. Both cars pulled out of the driveway and made their way towards the base.
Once they were there, it was a waiting game. They got there 15 minutes early, and all Bradley wanted to do was stick his face into the huge windows to look at all the planes in their hangars and watch planes take off and land.
Y/n and Carole were sitting on a couch nearby, waiting for the announcement that the plane Mav and Goose were on had landed.
Those 15 minutes seemed to go back at a snails pace, and y/n was getting nervous, thinking the plane had been delayed, that they had crashed, anything.
But her thoughts came to a halt when a voice on the intercom announced that the pilots were ready to be picked up and were finally here.
Both women sprang up, and Bradley knew to run to them immediately. Approaching the room where Pete and Nick were to come out of, at least 15 other families were waiting there too. The air held an indescribable amount of excitement and love, the atmosphere that y/n loved so much, that calmed her nerves when she had to do this.
The pilots came out one by one, running to their families and disappearing into bear hugs and kisses.
Goose came out, prompting his wife and his son to run to his side and hug him. Carole was crying and Bradley was just begging to be picked up. Y/n smiled and cried too, she saw how happy the three were and it looked straight out of a movie.
The final aviator to come out was Maverick.
Time stopped for a second, everything went in slow motion and the world was perfect for a fleeting moment both of them wanted to cradle in their arms forever.
Seeing his wife run to him in slow motion, dress and hair flowing around and behind her, was the single most beautiful thing Maverick had ever seen. He would never, ever, grow tired of seeing her like that, of just watching pure beauty run towards him. And he knew that he was the luckiest man in the entire world.
She threw herself onto him, he lifted her up and spun her around. It all looked straight out of a movie, but it didn’t matter how it looked anyway because it felt perfect. And the two halves were finally back together to make a whole once more.
“Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?”, Maverick asked, smiling at his wife.
“Oh shut up, Mav”, she replied with a smile, effectively making him go quiet with her lips on his.
“I missed you so much, Mrs. Mitchell”, he said.
“I doubt that you missed me much more than I missed you, Mr. Mitchell”, she replied.
“I really don’t think that’s true, hon. Especially not when I had to read the note you shoved in my pocket every single day. I read it before taking off, I read it when I landed, I read it when I woke up and before going to bed, I-”
“I think we get your point, Maverick. You didn’t do anything without that damn piece of paper”, interrupted Goose.
“If you knew what was on here, Goose, you’d know why.”, Maverick answered.
“Uncle Mav!”, exclaimed little Rooster.
“Hi Rooster, I missed you, little man”, said Maverick, picking the boy up and swinging him from side to side.
As the giggles and teary eyes quieted down, the 5 decided to head to a nearby restaurant to celebrate the guys’ arrival.
“Let me drive, honey”, said Maverick.
Y/n got in the passenger seat, putting on her glasses while Pete did the same. He turned the car on and stepped on the gas, his right hand finding a comfortable spot on y/n’s leg.
The sun was beginning to set and the summer air made everything all the more perfect. The pair sang along to the radio and laughed their way to the restaurant, smiling wider than they had in the last couple of months.
When they parked, Maverick sat there, not unlocking the car doors or even moving at all. He turned to look at his wife. She looked perfect. Her hair was messy and her smile was a bit lopsided, but she was perfect. In his eyes, she was beauty and beauty was her.
On the other side was y/n. She looked at her husband in pure admiration. He was so brave, he was so handsome. Even though he was sweating from the summer heat and his hair was all messed up, she thought he looked perfect, too. She knew he was hers and she couldn’t believe how lucky she was sometimes.
“Come on, Mav. After this, you can finally come home with me after so long.”, she said, looking back at her awestruck, and beautiful husband.
“Y/n, ever since I saw you, I was home. Like your note said, like our wedding song said, home is wherever I’m with you”, he said, followed by a long kiss.
P.S. if u wanna know what the note said, I imagine it going along the lines of the following:
Maverick, I want you to know that even though you’re the one going hundreds of miles away for two months, I’m not going to be home either. Well, it’s not like I’m leaving. More like my home is leaving me. Whenever I’m with you, things feel right, they feel complete. I feel safe in your arms. I feel more than loved and I love you more than I will ever be able to explain. So, while I’m not really going anywhere, I’m not really going to be home either. Because you are home. Pete, home is wherever I’m with you.

Mav pulled back from the hug and rubbed your cheek, “Y/n/n. I haven't talked to Bradley for about the same amount of time as you.” He grabbed your hand. “Im not asking you to fix anything for me. I have to do that on my own, but for you. I think you should go see him and patch you guys.” He rubbed his thumb over your hand. “You two were inseparable for so long and I know how much you both meant to one another.” He pressed his lips together and smiled.
You looked at Penny and she also put her hand on your hand along with Mav’s. She smiled at you and nodded agreeing with Mav.
Y/n: “what if he doesn’t even remember who I am? Or just ignores me?” You were sad. “I mean he’s already done it for 7 years.” You looked down at all your hands together.
Penny: “I think you should give him the chance to at least explain that.” She rubbed your arm.
You looked at the both of them and stood up. “I can’t do this right now, not during my daughter's birthday.” Then you walked away.
As you walked away, they looked at you with defeat. Mav was scared you wouldn’t talk to him in the little time he possibly had.
Penny: “Do you think she will talk to him?”
Mav: “I really hope she will, this could be it for y/n.”
It was now 11 PM and everyone started to leave. You all start to clean up the deck so you could bring your little princess home. Mav was holding her while she was starting to fall asleep. He was rubbing her back and rocking her while he sat on a chair in the sand. You all finished cleaning up the deck so Penny wouldn’t have to worry about it during closing.
You went over to Mav and brushed your daughters very messy curly hair out of her face. You brought your car around the side so you could load all the presents and extra decorations into the back of your jeep. You didn’t want to have to keep walking into the bar because 1. It was super busy. 2. You were wearing a costume. And the BIG number 3: Bradley. Once you finished loading your car, Mav placed Leia in her booster seat in the back of your car and gave her a kiss on her head. He then came over to you and gave you a hug and thanked you for letting him meet Leia.
Y/n: “You can come and see her anytime Mav.” Mav was like a dad to you. He always took care of you and Bradley when you were in college. He always made you feel at home and never alone.
You hugged Penny and thanked her for letting you used the back deck. She let you know she was going to come over in the afternoon to bring Leia her gifts.
Billy and Bri rode to the house together, so Austin offered to stay back with you so you weren’t alone. Austin offered to drive knowing you were probably super tired. You accepted the offer you guys drove off. On your way out of the parking lot you saw a familiar figure out by his blue bronco with some of the other naval aviators in uniform. Your heart dropped. You looked down at your feet hoping he wouldn’t see you. As you guys drove by, you looked through the window slightly. You saw Bradley turn his head in your direction and you leaned back in your chair. You looked at him again as you went right next to him. He was staring at your car the whole way out. Right before your car left the parking lot he finally returned to conversation with the group he was with.
“Shit.” You whispered under your breath. Surely he couldn’t have known it was you. You had got another car since the last time he saw you. Your own head was just playing tricks on you.
You and Austin finally arrived at yours and Bri’s house. Billy’s car wasn’t anywhere to be found. So it made you nervous. You didn’t know how to be with Austin alone. You barely even knew the dude. You were so awkward, you wanted to sit in the car until Bri and Billy got there. But then he reached over and placed his hand on your arm and rubbed it. He turned off your car and you were surrounded in pure darkness. You looked over to him, but it was far too dark to see him.
Austin: “I can grab Leia and bring her in if you’d like?” It was dark, but you could feel him looking at you.
Y/n: “That would be nice, so I can start unloading the car. Thank you, Austin.” You patted his hand on your arm.
You heard shifting and then the car door opened. Austin got out of the car and opened the back passenger door to get Leia out of the car. You got out of the car and waited for them. He was carrying her like a baby. Her head rested on his chest. Your daughter was kind of tall for her age, she has her dad’s height, but she looked small when Austin was holding her. You wondered if she would look like that in Bradley’s arms. You started to smile, that would be really cute. You snapped out of it when you heard the car door slam and he started to walk up the drive way to the front door.
You ran passed them and opened the door for him. He walked into the house and you turned on the light.
Y/n: “Can you bring her into the first room on the right please.” You gave him a light playful push towards Leia’s bedroom door.
He nodded at you, “Gotcha, first room on the right.” He brought your daughter into her room.
You started to bring in her toys and put them in her room. Austin came out and started to help you put the extra decorations into the garage. After you finished you invited him in. You offered him to go into the refrigerator or pantry and help himself. You brought yourself into your room and cleaned up. You changed to some comfortable clothes and brought out some of your oversized clothes for Austin. You walked out and Austin was looking in the refrigerator with his hand up to his chin looking like he was making a very important decision. You laughed and he looked over. His eyes were wide as he looked you up and down. His eyes met yours and he smiled.
Austin: “Hey.” He closed the refrigerator.
Y/n: “I brought you some of my biggest over sized clothes if you’d like to change out of your very realistic Darth Vader costume.” You put your hand out holding the clothes and smiling.
He laughed, “Thank you, y/n. But did you think I was naked under here?” He raised his eyebrows. He took the pair of sweat pants only. “Thanks.” He winked at you.
Y/n: “Well… no. I know you’re not! I’m just offering some clothes…” You started to trail off.
He laughed and walked to the couch.
You blushed you could feel the heat coming off of your cheeks. Jesus, of course he wasn’t naked under there. He started to take off his suit in front of you and he looked at you and chuckled. You stood there awkwardly and then went to the pantry. Trying to give him his privacy. You looked out the corner of your eye and you could see his tight white shirt that exposed his pecs, abs, muscular back and arms. You bit your bottom lip and looked back into the pantry trying to distract yourself, but you were already imagining him naked under the costume… or at least now you were wishing he was.
He walked over to you. “Well the sweats are a little high but they’ll do.” He said while looking down at them.
God he looked hot. Some strands of his what was nicely fixed hair now falling loosely over his forehead and face. He looked up to you and chuckled. You looked at his ankles and they were exposed. You laughed but covered your mouth remembering your daughter was asleep. He put a finger over his lips and gestured the “shhhhh” sign while smiling. The two of you looked through the pantry and refrigerator to find something to snack on. Luckily, after no luck Bri and Billy arrived with some tacos. They went to go change out of their costumes.
You and Austin ate a couple of tacos. The two of you sat on the couch and you turned on The Mandalorian while you waited for Billy and Bri to come out. Austin pulled you close into him so now he had one arm around you and you had your back against his side.
Austin: “Is this alright, y/n?” He looked down at you and was smiling.
You looked up at him and nodded, “Fine with me.” You felt good to be in someone’s embrace. His smell was intoxicating as it filled your nose. You closed your eyes taking it in.
Billy: “Are you two decent? I don’t want to see someone eating tacos off the other or something.” He’s a very blunt guy. No shame in anything he says.
Austin called over to Billy, “You missed us eating tacos off of each others abs 20 minutes ago. You’re good, man.” He chuckled into your hair. “I’m really sorry about him, darlin. He can be a bit much.” He whispered into your ear.
You turned your head slightly so you could see him from the corner of your eye, “Don’t worry about it. I’ve known Billy for the last 6 years. I’ve learned he is no man to be ashamed of anything he says.” You felt Austin sigh into your hair. He wrapped his arm tighter around you.
Bri and Billy finally came out and you threw a pillow at Billy. He looked at you with a pissy face. You put your finger to your lips signaling him to shut the hell up. He put up his hands in confusion.
Y/n: “My daughter is sleeping in that room. Don’t be loud about us eating tacos off of each other.” You felt the vibration coming from Austin as he laughed against your back.
Billy shook you off and made his way to the Tacos. He brought them to the couch for him and Bri to eat. They joined you and Austin to watch the show.
You started to doze off and you felt Austin shifting around. He was now laying down. He put his arms out for you to lay with him. You laid next to him, But propped your head up on your hand so you could watch the show.
Austin: “Are you tired?” He whispered into your ear.
You nodded your head. He moved your hand from under your head and patted his chest for you to lay. You laid on his chest gently. You could hear his heart rate speed up. “Then go to sleep. I’ll be here.” He kissed your head lightly.
His heart rate started to slow down. It was so therapeutic to listen to, so comforting, he was so warm, soft, your body fit perfectly next to his. You felt so at home and safe. Then, after 10 minutes you finally fell asleep.
Austin moved around so you could lay comfortably. He looked at your sleeping face and smiled. He brushed some hairs out of your face. He tilted your head up so your face could face his. You were such a site to look at. He could look at you all day and all night. He felt so comfortable with you and he hasn’t even known you for a full day. He watched as your shoulders would rise and fall with every breath you took. He watched as your eyes twitched, felt how your body was so relaxed and how your heart was beating against his side. He was in awe with you. He put his hand up to catch Bri’s attention. She looked over at him.
Austin: “Can you bring us a blanket? I don’t want her to be cold.” He asked in barely a whisper.
Bri nodded and went to go get a blanket from your room. She laid it over the two of you and returned to lay with Billy. Austin pulled the blanket over your shoulder and he wrapped his arms around you. You slightly stirred and moved up his chest more but were still asleep. Your face slightly in his neck. He could feel your breath against him. It sent goosebumps all over his body. He kiss and whispered onto the top of your head, “Good night, Darlin.”
You woke up at 3 AM. You were confused as to where you were. It was dark, but as your eyes adjusted you could see that you were still cuddled up with a now sleeping Austin. There was a blanket from your room on the two of you. You looked over and could slightly see that Bri and Billy were asleep too. Well you knew they were because Billy had a slight snore. You looked at Austin and as much as you wanted to stay this way, you didn’t want your daughter to wake up and see her mom cuddled up with some stranger on the couch. You had an example to set for her. So you set an alarm for 7 AM to wake you all up so Billy and Austin could leave before Leia could get out of bed. After setting the alarm, you cuddled back up to Austin. Listening to him breathe, feeling his chest raise and fall underneath your face and feeling the warmth radiating off of him. You were listening to his slow heartbeat once again. He readjusted so he could be even closer to you. He wrapped his arm back around you and his hand rested on your waist. You put your hand on his chest and his free hand followed yours. You closed your eyes.
Austin gave your hand a slight squeeze, “Good night, y/n.”
