There's this running joke that Ukie is lazy, unmotivated, spoiled and while he may be those things at times, at his core he's such a good person: life has been knocking him down since he was born but he's still able to see the beauty in monsters and understand the fear of people socially lower than him enough not to dismiss them as fools.
