Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter (1992): "I spent a great deal of my childhood in Mexico, and I grew up in Mexico City. I started playing in bands when I was 10 yrs old. I played with guys like Abraham Laboriel and Fito De La Parra. Abraham is now one of the top studio bass players in the world. Fito plays the drums for Canned Heat. I found it very advantageous to be around musicians and so wherever I went I would repair and build guitars for people and hang around music stores and that way I met many players. When I was 13 yrs old I was working in a music store on 48th Street in NYC, and at night, was delivering amplifiers to recording studios. I did that for the Manhattan Guitar Club. One day one of the guitar players on the record date didn’t show. I got a shot at it then. Been a session guitar player ever since!"

William Augusto apresenta o projeto “Simples” com convidados especiais
Com mais de 20 anos de carreira na produção musical, onde iniciou aos 14 anos, William Augusto colocou seu nome em produções de artistas de renome como Coral Resgate, Sergio Saas, Jéssica Augusto, Melk Villar, Paloma Possi, Rodrigo Mozart, Paulo César Baruk, Jotta A e Michael Santiago. Considerado um dos principais representantes da música instrumental dentro do segmento gospel, ele apresenta seu novo projeto intitulado “Simples”.
Relacionamento com Deus
– O projeto “Simples” não é um projeto tão simples tecnicamente falando, mas é simples na intenção do coração de todos os que estão participando. Ele nasceu em meu coração no sentido de trazer a simplicidade das letras do relacionamento com Deus e no caminhar com Jesus que é simples e não é para ser complicado – resume o produtor musical.
O álbum terá um total de sete faixas ao vivo, todas escritas, produzidas, arranjadas e mixadas por William Augusto, que contou com Samuel Costa (baixo), Jeff Arantes (guitarra) e Cleverson Silva (bateria). A masterização ficou a cargo de Luciano Vassão.
Produção Musical
Na parte vocal, William conta com um coral dirigido por Eduardo Nikiba e as participações dos cantores Rodrigo Mozart, Paloma Possi, Cleber Ao Cubo, Paulo Zuckini, Marsena, Jéssica Augusto, Gui Augusto, Julio Cesar e Luana (filha do Cleber Ao Cubo).
Todas as canções do álbum “Simples” terão videoclipe no canal de William Augusto. Tudo foi gravado ao vivo na Igreja de Deus em Cristo, mais conhecida como COGIC3, localizada em São Paulo. A direção de vídeo é de Caio Gimenes e a direção artística é de Ana Muro, esposa de Caio.
“Simples” continua no início, mas William Augusto já tem uma sequência pronta. Conforme o produtor musical, o “Simples 2” terá um estilo de música com uma pulsação mais rápida, mais alegre, mais “pra frente”, porém com uma continuação das mensagens. O segundo álbum já está todo gravado e terá outras participações.
William Augusto
William Augusto deu seus primeiros passos na música aos quatro anos quando, segundo ele, aprendeu a fazer um ré maior no violão. Grande parte da sua infância foi dedicada à música. Com nove anos, ele tocava guitarra, baixo, bateria e teclado na igreja. Aos 14 produziu seu primeiro trabalho e foi quando começou oficialmente na carreira de produtor musical, tendo sua principal referência no americano Tom Brooks, arranjador e produtor musical da Integrity Music e da Hosanna Music e já assinou trabalhos de Aline Barros, Michael W. Smith e Abraham Laboriel.
No final de 2017, ele deu início ao projeto “Soaking in His Presence”, que, na tradução literal, seria “Imersão na Sua Presença”, que tem 16 volumes lançados. O canal do Soaking is His Presence no YouTube tem mais de 300 mil inscritos e soma quase 90 milhões de visualizações.
– É um tipo de música pensado para facilitar a concentração e é usado para estudar, meditar, se concentrar, mas especialmente para se conectar com Deus e ouvir a voz dEle que é o mais importante. Em resumo, é um instrumento que facilita silenciar as vozes do dia a dia e dos problemas e nos direciona a essa sensibilidade de ouvir a voz do Pai – detalha William Augusto.
Conexão com Deus
Paralelo ao “Soaking in His Presence”, o produtor lançou os projetos “Piano & Hope” e “LOFI & Hope”, que também traduzem essa atmosfera que usa o instrumental para ajudar o ouvinte a se conectar com o de Deus.
– “Piano & Hope” tem o piano como protagonista com melodias fáceis de digerir e tem mais melodia que o “Soaking in His Presence”. Já o “LOFI & Hope” tem um som mais irregular, mais “sujo” com uma pulsação mais alegre pelas melodias que leva – explica.
Em relação ao seu novo projeto para o ano de 2024, William Augusto espera que o álbum “Simples” consiga transmitir realmente o que as letras estão dizendo e que ele não seja mais um nos aplicativos de música. O músico deseja que cada canção “leve as pessoas a esse lugar de paz que é perto de Jesus”.

Ricky Fataar's career connects a vast network of musicians as we've seen and some of his collaborators are the same. He worked on the album by Jennifer Warnes, whom we met in our discussions as a backing vocalist for Leonard Cohen. Her solo opus, however, remains a weird one, since her biggest hits tend to be the highly glossy productions for blockbusters, while her own work doesn't get enough recognition despite her eclecticism. I mean, her Shot Through The Heart serves as a nexus of Ricky Fataar, John Cale, Andrew Gold and Leo Sayer among others. The latter didn't appear there, though, she covered him as you hear on the link with Mr. Fataar providing the percussion. I have to admit I prefer her version to the original, since she transforms the piece into a fine slice of soft rock.
