okay so here’s a quick rundown on benny:

benny grew up with his mom being the only one he ever had. his dad left before he was born and his mom has always jumped from one guy to the next in attempt to find love but never finds it, and every time a guy leaves her she pretty much almost drinks herself into a coma and has a pity party for herself

that is, until the next guy comes along and she cleans herself up for a little while. anyways, benny pretty much raised himself. he had to learn from a young age that his mom was never going to be there for him. he was always going to be the grown up.

he lives in a very small two bedroom apartment in the bronx and he never ever takes anyone home with him because for one, he doesn’t even like going home and two, he’s very embarrassed of where he came from.

benny’s pretty closed off and he’s always been that way. there’s a handful of people that are close to him (avonlea being one of them) and if you aren’t close to him, he kinda comes off as blunt and a little bit rude but he’s not??? like when you get to know him, he’ll do anything in the world for you.

benny was born in louisiana but he wasn’t there long before his dad snatched him away from his very unfit mother and hauled him across the country to los angeles, which is where his dad was originally from.

he shares a mom with both max and frankie, which is one of the reasons he decided to move to tupelo but it isn’t the only reason. he was a drug dealer in los angeles and a big one at that. when he got into a bit of trouble with one of his friends, they decided to take all the money they had and buy a motel that was up for sale in tupelo and fix it up and start making money in more legal ways.

kennedy is his ex girlfriend and he has 0 idea that she also is in tupelo and he’s also her ex dealer. her leaving him was a little heart breaking and he hates that he lost her but he’s moved on because he assumes he won’t ever see her again.

he’s trying to stay away from drugs, which includes both selling and doing. which, he’s struggling with since he start smoking at an early age but he’s been sober since moving to tupelo, which is the longest he’s been sober.

he’s really just trying to start a new life in tupelo and he’s hoping that now that he’s trying to get clean, the trouble that was following him will stop.
