Catholics who want to have a confrontation with each other should be provided a jew who knows how to argue free of charge. They cannot do it on their own.
#this brought to you by my catholic roommates getting into the worst argument i have ever seen over one of them being 'snippy'#worst not as in most violent but like. least skilful#like so un goal oriented#it was so out of nowhere too like the examples that were brought up were like.#less 'snippy' than like 90% of my fully amicable interaction with friends and family#the way it was started was literally we were all chilling and one goes#'I'm just gonna say it bc no one else will but you're snippy and nobody likes it'. like. LMAO???#I've always wondered who those 'how to argue' guides that give advice like 'use I statements' were for and now i know. catholics#I'm sorry i don't want to be mean to catholics fhjgsfh#but i have noticed this pattern of many catholics not having a healthy framework for confrontation#also i was just like. in the room as it was happening like John Mulaney in the horse in the hospital sketch like 'ok. ok. ok. ok. ok. ok'#i actually think i did a p good job resolving it so. proud of myself i guess#part of me is also guiltily pleased bc my dad used to tell me that i was so unpleasant to live with that it would cause conflicts forever#and also when we'd get into arguments he'd be like 'you're so logical you should be a lawyer' (derogatory) and imply/say that i was being#a coldhearted bitch for not acknowledging the emotional sides to the conflict enough#and so now Im validated bc this is the 2nd big roommate argument that weve had and neither of them involved me at all#and also bc my lawyerly logical reasoning skills helped deescelate the situation from yelling crying and accusations#to an actual conversation about what was causing the conflict and what we could do to resolve it#so I'm kind of like 'huh so turns out i was right and correct wHoD HaVE tHuNk'
