more thoughts about why i like kilen wang:
so most rich guy dramas that ive watched (probs from late 2000s, early 2010s kdrama, so pretty outdated) feature the guy being a huge douchebag to everyone in general, even the main chara/protag, with an insufferable ego and he only changes his attitude when he falls for the protag and even then not really (hes still mostly an asshat and he only really treats the protag w bare minimum respect)
so thats the kind of impression i have and ive always loathed that sort of rich dude because its flat af for storytelling and mostly bc im not a fan of boring assholes bc they are garden variety and u find one if u throw a stone
HOWEVER cutie pie gives us kilen wang who is presented to us as that typical rich guy asshole stereotype, only to turn that on its head and give us a wonderfully developed love interest chara of a protag whose behaviours, motivations and choices MAKE SENSE
the story establishes lian as someone who worked his way up from the bottom, and believes in equal opportunity and thats in line w the way he treats foei and the various service staff charas thru the drama. hes never rude, although hes def aloof, distant and keeps work purely as work. i find the "friendly, caring boss" stereotype a little concerning in the way its portrayed in dramas/fiction sometimes and we get lian, who looks out for his company staff without dragging them unnecessarily into his personal life
which, u may argue, but bruce, he gets foei to do all sorts of things!! yeah, foei is his PA, he gets foei to do all sorts of stuff and he DID unfortunately forget himself and make out with kuea in front of foei a couple of times but he never trauma dumps or makes foei do his emotional labour for him, which is a LOT more than i can say for a ton of charas in media who dont seem to realize their subordinates are not automatically their therapists
i also absolutely love that lian has self awareness, enough to pick up on the problems between him and kuea and realize the severity of them, and want to make changes where feasibly possible. he doesnt faff around blaming others or FUCK FORBID kuea for the shit that happens to him as a person. (from what i recall) he never puts the responsibility of his feelings or the shitty situations he ends up in on kuea. he always owns that shit (thank yi for also constantly calling him out) and makes the change. its phenomenal for me, in a male love interest chara of a protag.
does this mean lian is perfect or an ideal of a man? hell nah. he is flawed af. he makes unilateral decisions for him and kuea's relationship. as much as he has the best intentions, he overly monitors kuea's life and isnt honest about the shit he gets up to. are these behaviours understandable? yeah. but thats not the same as acceptable. still, at the end of the day, its realistic bc actual ppl do have flaws like that and ppl who love ppl make stupid ass decisions all the fucking time. lian is nuanced and we learn enough about him that he stands alone as a character, not merely a plot device who pushes the romance plot along, an idea of a person that the protag is projecting on

HAII ZEE omgg i have a few thoughts for sure..
the album is honestly rlly good, like a solid 7/10 overall for me my favourite tracks are 1. icfa (IT SHOULDVE BEEN LONGER…) 2. carat cake 3. box
i like smoothie its very addictive my only issue is that i wish that they did more with the chorus lyrics wise like it gets a bit too much at some point with the repetitive ‘smoothie’ 😭😭 BUT THE SECOND VERSE WAS SOOOO GOOD like that whole renlehae part was genuinely so heavenly chenle’s voice is so crazy to me like he kinda remains my fave voice in nct lol i wish haechan had more lines but at the same time the song is a hip hop rap song so i’m not surprised the rappers got the most parts 😭
ANYWAYS THE MV FELT A BIT…. i hate when they teaser-bait us because they did all those dream scape story line thing just for none of it to be included in the mv and the mv just being a box music video that didn’t have anything to do with fruits or smoothies (except for that jaemin fruit ninja part) like there was potential there but 💔💔💔 also i unfortunately hated all the image teasers except for the dreamscape and cho giseok ones but that’s a different convo lol

Zee + Spirit/Jade Coin Au
HEHE my design take on the au of me and my friend @minquiec did :3c!!! Also some brainrot ideas i got from the au (mostly angst giggles)
Right side is the actual design that takes place on hb and jia was still around! Yes, i did like 3 versions of her wearing a mask, the hodie and without those both cause i cant resist to make versions of it for the sake of making it as references HAHHSA
AND LEFT SIDE.. lets just say she got an upgrade after something happend :3 (if you havent got the context yet go over to mins page and find the Spirit AU that we worked on :D since i also wanna add some brainrots here after what had happened after the event of jia and hb)
BRAINROTS (mostly angst😻)
▪︎ Ever since Jia had dissapeared comepletely from the spirit world, and hobie returned to the human realm with 0 memory of what happened back— Zee has been the only one who had taken over Jia's casino ever since jia had dissapeared. Often someone nearby would catch Zee staring into the void in a place(havent figure it out what place) where it was the last convo Jia and Zee had the day before jia dissapeared.
▪︎if you noticed!! in mins jia design in the au, she has this small green jade necklace so.. what if the last thing that was left by jia before she dissapeared was the necklace??? And like The day before she went away, Jia gave it to Zee and let them keep it. As in a way to let know Jia trusted Zee to keep this necklace as a way to commemorate the bond they had.
" —C'mon.. you wont do it, right? " their voice slightly shaken and gets quieter as she holds the jade necklace tightly. The girl in the hood looked up to her, the girl in red wearing a helpless smile. Both stood in silence, She finally sighed and said—
" I can't do anything to stop you, can i? " The girl in the hood dejectedly continued.
" im sorry. " The girl in red replied. A distant memory was reminisced as she looked at the jade necklace in her hand.
▪︎back before Zee took over the casino, she owns a store thats located in an alleyway. She usually spends her days there and waits for any customers to come by, and also the time where they first met hb. After They took over the casino, Zee mostly focuses more with the casino and spends her time there to keep everything in check— leaving her shop empty with no one there. Everytime Zee has time to took a stroll and passes by the same alleyway and the shop she enjoyed spend her time napping and reorgenizing the stuff there, she cant help but went there and unlocked the doors to her shop— and reminince the life she had back then.
▪︎the idea came from min, and made me or us realize what we do to ourselves sndnsc... Zee has been the victim of all of this, since the fact shes the only one out of the three that remembered all that happened and deal with it. (Hence hb was revived back in the human realm with no memory of him going to the spirit world and Jia literally traded her soul for hb to live back in the human world and dissapearing.)
▪︎ Zee often wonders if theres a solution to bring them back.
" silly fantasies... that kind of miracle wont be coming anytime soon, huh? "

i have to say: i love love LOVE your meta for 7x05 because it's (more or less lol) the exact convo i had with my best friend after watching the episode.
there is some truth to the opinion that they [writers&actors] are maybe being a bit too in-your-face with the whole thing - but i think that's the point? us super engaged fans have been overanalyzing every single detail for years and writing a ton of fic about it, but the average casual watcher needs a bit bigger of a push to connect the dots and see the (hopefully) upcoming eddie arc as a natural progression.
i'm totes following you now because i need more people who see things the way i do on my feed 🥰
Hiiii!!!!! Thank you so much!!!! I love to analyze media, especially fiction, as a writer myself, so this is one of my fave things to do. I do stuff like this with my housemate with almost nearly everything we watch and for 911 my friend Zee has been a godsend cuz I send her essays on this stuff all the time.
I think when it comes to something being "OOC" as a concept, people need to recognize that there's a difference between someone BEING out of character, and someone DOING something out of character.
I also think we need to divulge from "OOC" ness as we in fandom view it. We look at things like fanfic tags or fics that are OOC and we equate it with the writer having misunderstanding the character. When it comes to the actual show itself, they know their characters better than anyone, and when a character suddenly out of nowhere acts OOC...it's usually done for a purpose.
Things like the lawsuit, the streetfighting arc, the sperm donor arc, and now the moving Marisol in arc, I think these "OOC" things we all find weird were all done in the pursuit of making the characters grow into fuller more complex human beings. We don't always have to LIKE every single arc, but that's how these characters stay beloved and relatable.

5. What’s their favorite type of weather? Do they like to do anything specific on days when the weather is how they like it?
Most of my OCs are night owls/mostly work during the night hours so I would say most prefer clowdy weather - enough light to be able to see but not to be seen at night kinda thing
Obi's former pack/gang, consisting of Tom, Haru, Kris, Hana, Nokaru, Kano, Haruhi and newly Zee/Marina, have their own little hideout/safehouse similar too these huge ahh treehouses. Whenever it's a nice sunny day (without it being too hot) during spring they like to eat together outside on their "porch" - they are suckers for warm sunny weather ideally without a cloud in the sky.
9. How do they write? Do they write in cursive? How do they dot their i’s and j’s? Do they have specific ways that they write certain letters?
Emi: the most gorgeous cursive you've ever seen. Elegant, consistent and easily readable.
Sister Fiona: trained in rewriting books like monks and stuff - very fast writer and it somehow ends readable, she makes her letters longer than they actually need to be.
Doctor Nana: she's a doctor :/

I've never put much thought into their food preferences tbh...all I know is that Zarr and Butcher like anything made with alcohol.
I can imagine Haru being really into fried food and Sister Fiona into soups hmm
20. Was your OC inspired by anything? Another character? A person?
Oh babe most of my background OCs take heavy inspiration from my fav thing (show, movie, song etc.) at any given moment. I find solace in thinking/writing about familiar things :)
Madame: very witchy woman, she's inspirated by forest witch aesthetics...the Slavic unsettling ones. Her personality is like a mush of Alastor from Hazbin Hotel, Hannibal and Nellie from Sweeney Todd
Doctor Nana: both Nana and Madame's core is basically cannibal core (only literally for Madame tho). Nana was made because I needed to channel my girlhood feelings of love that only young adult girls and clinically insane people can understand. She's the embodiment of "I love you so much I'll devour you, bones and all". Oh also by the Dismemberment song.
Zarr: his demeanor and speech patterns are basically my own dad + my friend's dad (I'm being fr), he leans into the stereotypical Slavic dad TM, only more open-minded. Also Red Foreman from the 70s show.
Zee/Marina: she would fit into Trainspotting (movie) so well - she was created before I even watched it but damn if she isn't Mark Renton I don't know who she is. She's also giving Velma from Starkid Scooby-doo parody (solve it squad) and Yura from Parties are for losers.
Haru and Kano: their dynamic is inspired by boy friendships around me. Most of the conversations they have are convos I've heard teen boys having on the bus from school. I shall not elaborate further u can figure it out
The Obi gang: their childhood experiences and dynamics are based on mine and my friends own childhoods - VERY Slavic core.

THOUGHTS ON IPKKND 3
(and some important clarification)
Alright I just read some super interesting convos about IPK and it’s sequel IPK3 between @herelivesahobbit and @honeybellexox so I thought why don’t I jump in the convo!
And omg I legit had a theory about IPK3 that it was originally called Satya Ki Kiran and then became Mohra and then Star TV overtook it and Barun couldn’t opt out of IPK3 because he signed to work on the show so he was trapped.
And I wanted to share that (and have shared that with so many people) and now I realize I was probably high on something cause THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF THAT.
Was that me, sympathy projecting as to why Sobti would do a character who gives rape threats to the female lead unless he was trapped???
Guys, warning, DO NOT WATCH SO MUCH TV AND DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE SPREADING FALSE NEWS 😭
Ugh, apologies to everyone I told this theory to!
Mohra was an action thriller show about a cop named Satya who probably falls for the conwoman widow Kiran (hence the show was called Satya Ki Kiran) and extensive footage was shot before Zee Tv extended the show from biweekly to daily and the production house (BBC) didn’t plan for it and it got scrapped.
Then comes a show in Star by 4Lions where they cast Sobti and Tomar (who worked previously in the scrapped Mohra) and decide to come up with a revenge drama initially called “Vaidehi”.
Amazing idea. Cause revenge dramas are cool to see and Barun has a good grasp on layered characters and Tomar has good vocal tonality and there was already a LOT of buzz on Mohra with these two people casted as leads.
Except, Star decides to pull out another IPK and capitalize on Sobti’s fandom. And somehow neither the PH nor the Channel anticipated the backlash to the show (lol I wonder why). Irani AND Sobti are synonymous to IPK so cutting one half out to this his popularity is enough turned a good audience off.
And to kind rub salt they used Rabba Ve, IPK, ASR and several bgms to sync in. Even the first bearded look to keep the two ASRs separate was forgotten when they gave him a makeover (twice!) and brought Sobti to look closer to ARNAV by the end of it all cause clearly appearance was the only problem in the show.
And those not turned off by the IPK similarity, were definitely caught off guard by the bizzare costumes (except Sobti he kinda looked hot but Tomar was drowning in extensions makeup jewelry and layers of ruffles?) editing, lighting, camera angles…
And the plot.
They kinda sacrificed the original angsty plot (the full flashback that they had pre-shot) to force a romance and it doesn’t work because:
- Advay sexually harasses Chandni multiple times
And the reason IPK3 truly drowned was that they changed the theme multiple times to raise TRP.
From finding out the truth it’s just an Advay harasses Chandni theme, sudden family members cropping up which kinda chops the fact that it was intense isolation and cultivated anger that made Advay the villain he is.
And he was supposed to be a villain. This show ever truly works out for the initial few episodes and this phase in between when he tries to seduce he into a marriage and she’s all “you’re fun but deceptive so thanks for the desire but I’ll give you a hard pass”
All the information here are from verifiable news sources and my hate love relationships with IPK3 which could’ve been amazing if it was called Vaidehi and stuck to Sobti being a villain - cause he was damn good at that.

Below is a list of what Advay does:

i'm very interested in your pre and post fuck theory re: ZNN. so according to you, when did The Fuck (tm) happen? 👀
Anon I want to reiterate that I am a normal person with normal interests. With that established let's try to narrow down when znn first did the deed.
Measurement Unit: The overall vibe is obviously a big factor but the interaction I specifically look for is how they are communicating when not using words.
Step 1: Establish the two boundaries of definitely pre-fuck and definitely post-fuck.
Definitely Pre Fuck: Chiang Rai trip April 14th
While the Chiang Rai trip is definitely Pre, a fundamental shift in their relationship happened on that trip since this is during New's blushing bride era. Maybe an acknowledgement of this will happen and we are powerless to stop it sort of realization. Maybe a little gay stuff too.
During the live Zee and New did from Zee's home you can see those charged silences are there but the communication happening during those are shaky like they aren't sure exactly what they have communicated. Whenever New says something eggregiously flirty he stops to look at Zee for his reaction and assess the situation.
Definitely Post: KazzTalk Mint Taokaenoi Live Series
This gets super long if i go into the specific of the interactions but I think in general New just looks at Zee less. I don't know if other people noticed but New looks to Zee A Lot. In early days its for validation or to be saved during difficult questions. During their unhinged flirtation days he's constantly looking at Zee to see how serious Zee is or how Zee is reacting to things. In the blushing bride days he's also constantly assessing how Zee is reacting but this time very specifically to him.
But he exudes a lot more confidence in the interviews i mentioned, he siajiaos (flirtatiously wheedles) at Zee and often won't look at him or will pause exactly the right amount knowing that Zee needs time to react or laugh. Which means he has a good handle on...well how to manipulate Zee sdfghjkjhgfdsdfg
But most of all and why I made my original post is this:
Listen everyone and their mothers know that New has a Death Note style list of people who flirt with Zee and he has maintained this list since pretty much from the beginning. Everyone EXCEPT Zee of course.
Whenever Zee says we are both so easy-going I'm like son I don't know how to break it to you but your lover got all As on his O levels and is majoring in Chinese while juggling a full time acting/singing career.
Look at the face of a man who has no idea how much danger he is in literally at all times. New complained about Zee's open shirt during a Cutie Pie reaction Ep where Zee unbuttoned his shirt as PART of a SCRIPT with the intention of seducing none other than New's own character - pppfffttttttt easy-going my ass
New has obviously been playing the long game with this and the fact that he's ready to let Zee in on this well known secret means that not only are they in the Post phase but it has been a while like at least 2-3 weeks for the oxytocin bond to stabilize.
Which brings us to Step 2: Narrowing down the window between April 14 and beginning of June
The vibes in the May lives and interviews really are all over the place but if I have to pick one where the vibes were extremely confusing then it would have to be the Shopee Live (sorry I couldn't find the specific clips with eng translation) with the matching shirts.
Many things about this live: Zee being less composed than New on an average (like Zee LOSES it for no clear reason when the host asks New his ideal type) or the way Zee can't stop saying he loves New despite feeling quite embarassed while doing so, New not letting Zee shy away from telling him that Zee loves him, New folding Zee's jacket unprompted like a good wife.
April 21st is also my favorite live - the one where New spends the entire time personally holding Zee's hoe shirt close and Zee goes all the way off screen to have some sort of private convo with New about it and I would hazard that this is also Post but Very Early.
Conclusion: It happened sometime between April 17th (end of Chiang Rai trip) and April 27th (the date of the couple's shirt Shopee Live). Most likely between April 17th and April 20th.
