HIS PARENTS LORE ; edmond’s father’s name is kazuki (born in 1932), and his mother’s name is akari (born in 1933). they met in 1951 and became partners for 8 years, married in 1959. akari works as a casino manager, and kazuki works as an office employee like most people do. unfortunately, akari died of childbirth right after edmond honda’s birth.

EDMOND’S BIRTH ; remember, edmond’s name is a shikona (your everyday western name). so let’s be serious, edomon is his real name. like the edo period, akari’s favorite japanese history. that’s why she named him edomon before her death. with kazuki becoming widowed, honda is motherless.

AFTERMATH OF AKARI ; kazuki continues to work as an office employee to earn money while honda gets taken care of by his babysitters. but don’t worry, kazuki has the best quality time with his son and is always time to witness the first talk, walk, you name it. when honda became a toddler, kazuki would sometimes take him to work so that he doesn’t get very lonely. his friends are in awe and his boss just doesn’t mind it at all.

CHILDHOOD ; edmond honda’s childhood isn’t that really good when it comes to his life in middle and high schools. he was always made fun of in middle school only because he was motherless. in the udon comics, we heard that he was bullied in every turn in high school, he was a nobody–– a nothing. everything changed when edmond watched his first sumo match in person. he was mesmerized with the move, speed, honor, you name it. he realized that he had a purpose and would go to any length to fulfill it. he found his destiny, and his dream. edmond would beg kazuki if he would like to accomplish his dreams of becoming a sumo wrestler, which for kazuki, he accepted his wish and supported him no matter what. and with that, honda began to train sumo wrestling and start his dream. one of honda’s favorite memories is visiting mount fuji with kazuki in his winter break via senior year and in genbu temple a few days after his graduation. yes, i see him studying culinary in college i’m not that dumb 🗣️‼️ ALSOOOO before i get to many years later, since i hc honda’s sexuality as gay mlm, when honda came out to kazuki, he’s literally the best father that edmond honda has ever had in his life because again, he supported his son no matter what. honda knew that he’s lucky to have kazuki as his dad. according to honda on sf6, he also grew up as a troublemaker, eating five times his size like his training for sumo wrestling, watching tv of the same said sport matches keeping his eyes on surprise.

AFTERMATH OF KAZUKI ; according to the sf6 comics, the game sets place on 2008. that was the year that honda opened his chanko house restaurant on metro city known as chanko house edomon. when kazuki, travels to metro city, the first thing he does is enjoy his order in the restaurant. sometimes, he doesn’t mind honda and dhalsim hanging out together like how most families do. but unfortunately, his life has changed when a year before the game, he has been diagnosed with cancer which left edmond honda completely broken. whenever someone looks over edomon, honda often visits his dad for chemotherapy, or surgeries on how will it go. sadly, it’s getting worse for kazuki and a few months after edomon is opened, he passed away in his deathbed. honda couldn’t make it to watch his father die in his arms, but it was because kazuki didn’t wanted edmond to watch him die just like with the situation on akari’s death.
