“151 years ago today, between 4pm and 5pm, Europe witnessed its largest meteorite fall in recorded history, over the mountains to the north of the present-day Ukrainian town of Knjahynja. As well as numerous eyewitness accounts, drawings were also made, including this wonderful specimen published by the Austrian mineralogist Wilhelm Ritter von Haidinger.“
