My face is like :/ right now because someone on Wikipedia keeps making stupid edits to articles related to intersex variations and is now being an idiot in the talk section of one, like okay, even if we accepted their premise that *certain thing* means that xyz diagnosis doesn’t fully apply there is literally no other Wikipedia entry that is better suited to put it. You cannot make up your own diagnosis for when something isn’t Swyer syndrome anymore but becomes a secret third thing. I kid you not I told them that Swyer syndrome and 46,XY gonadal dysgenesis were two terms for the same thing and this person responded telling me how wrong I was because *actually* Swyer syndrome is 46,XY complete gonadal dysgenesis. Okay whatever dude the article were on calls it 46,XY gonadal dysgensis bu! They then proceeded to discount a case I linked because the patient had mosaicism. AUUGH my GUY you can have several conditions at once, and because this whole debate started with discussion on ovaries in individuals with a 46,XY karyotype, go ahead and disregard that this woman’s ovaries were over 95% 46,XY!!! ALSO the whole thing about Swyer syndrome is that the differentiation of gonads into testes in someone with an XY karyotype didn’t happen resulting in a female phenotype, there’s literally no literature or consensus out there if that includes those with XY chromosomes and ovaries because it’s so rare that this discourse hasn’t even had a chance to exist!!!

the wikipedia page for glycerin is so fucking funny to me
Tumblr media
"so you can eat it, put it in your medications, skin care, it's in your deodorant, it's used in tinctures, it's in vapes, it's antifreeze, it's a chemical intermediate (nitroglycerin is a key ingredient in explosives??), it's in pressure gauges to dampen vibrations, it's used in media production to make wet spots that have to Stay wet longer do that, and to make smoke/fog with those machines, it's combustion fuel for diesel generators for electric race cars(?), its basically the chemical opposite of tag a bloke who does fuck all"
I found this bc I didnt know why glycerin was the 2nd ingredient in my deodorant 😭
