What Your Dance Class Warmups Say About You
Tumblr media
When you walk into a dance class for the first time, before you do a single plié or tendu, you've already made a first impression with what you're wearing.
And odds are, you're not coming to class in only your dancewear. What you layer on top of your class clothes can say a lot about you both as a dancer and a person. Here's the definitive Dance Spirit roundup of what your fave warmups tell us about you.
A warmup jacket with your studio logo (and your name) embroidered on it
Comp team queen! You've got team spirit, yes you do. When you're not rehearsing your solos, large groups, duos, and extended lines, you're learning the latest TikTok dance challenge with your dance besties.
You work hard and you love to have fun, and you *might* have a slight iced coffee addiction. You're a totally supportive team player, always ready to assist with a quick change or cheer loudly from the audience.
Soccer pants—you know the ones
Either you bought these pants a few years back when they were super trendy, or you've got some serious brand loyalty and match these with a shirt, socks and shoes all from the same brand.
You're the soft-spoken dancer who wows during class—you let your movement do the talking. Your musicality is off the charts and you get called out by the teacher in contemporary and/or hip hop.
Legwarmers, a wrap skirt, booties, a sweater, a turtleneck, a headband...
Okay, bunhead: Are you going into a ballet class or a blizzard? Your style is the definition of maximalist, and there's no such thing as clashing patterns in your book. You binge-watch World Ballet Day live streams like they're the newest Netflix hit and would rather spend your Friday night at the theatre than a football game. Your "nondance" hobbies probably are also of an arty persuasion, like painting or creative writing.
A tee from a dance comp or convention
You impulse-bought this shirt on Sunday after a long weekend of dancing, and it was so overpriced that you want to get as much wear out of it as you can. You probably also wore it to school Monday morning, paired with a messy bun and some lingering eyelash glue.
You prefer practicality over fashion when picking out a 'fit, but manage to strike that comfy/casual vibe effortlessly. The winterized version of this look is exactly the same, but with either a flannel tossed on top or a turtleneck underneath, if not both.
A non-dance graphic tee
You love to dance, but you have other interests, too. You probably have great taste in music and automatically get the AUX cord in any carpool situation. You're inclined to push boundaries, whether you're breaking dress code by wearing too much jewelry or holding on for that extra pirouette. You're probably amazing at eyeliner and might also be into astrology and/or crystals.
Matching sweats set
You have your life together, or you at least want people to think you do. Your Insta feed has a coordinated color scheme, your tights are never ripped, and if you're not in the studio rolling out your muscles 15 minutes before the teacher arrives, you feel like you're late. Your friends know they can come to you for anything from a blister Band-Aid to serious life advice.

The international break is coming to a close and we will finally have club football back this weekend!  For those who missed the international fixtures, here's a quick roundup on all of the Foxes on national team duty. Northern Ireland (Jonny Evans) Evans opened the scoring for Northern Ireland against Belarus by getting on the end of a flicked header from a corner. Northern Ireland won the match 2-1 courtesy of goals from Evans and Josh Magennis.  The 31-year-old defender also played the full... Your Monday Morning Roundup
Jake Elliott did it again.
It was an ugly first half, one that might have ended the Eagles’ season if the game was only two quarters. But the Birds found their groove in the second half and won on a late field goal for a 25-22 victory to make things in the NFC East interesting again.
Josh Adams had a big game on offense, running for 84 yards and a touchdown. 82 of those yards came in the second half when the offensive line told Doug Pederson to run the ball. And it worked.
Meanwhile, the injury-depleted defense held their own in the second half. Or I think they did. Pat Shurmur decided to make Saquon Barkley a non-factor in the second half after he single-handedly torched the Eagles. It was a dumb decision.
Kevin will have more in his observations post, but with a Dallas loss to New Orleans on Thursday and an Eagles win over the Redskins on Monday Night Football, there’ll be a three-way tie for the division lead. So much for the season being over, for now.

The Roundup:
The Sixers sucked on Friday, falling to the lowly Cavaliers 121-112 at home. At least Franklin did this to a Cavs fan:

Then last night, after the Sixers fell behind early to the Nets, Jimmy Butler showed why the Sixers traded for him with another game-winning bucket.
Two game-winners in 8 days for Jimmy Butler.
EXACT. SAME. SPOT.

Jimmy G. Buckets. The “G” stands for “gets.”
Meanwhile, is Markelle Fultz on his way out of Philly?
For now, however, Fultz is still around the team as if nothing has changed except his playing time. The Sixers keep saying they will do whatever is best for Fultz, but the situation has overshadowed the success the team has had this season.
Some sources have said that, despite the team’s statements, Fultz is no longer in the Sixers’ long-term plans. And they are no longer using his shoulder as an excuse for his performances.
Amari Cooper made fun of his free throw form and Fultz retweeted and enjoyed it.
The Flyers had a typical Flyers weekend. They shut out the Rangers 4-0 on Black Friday at home and all looked well.
And then the following night, they got shut out by the Maple Leafs 6-0 and allowed a first period hat-trick to Andreas Johnsson, a third liner, in the process. What a team.
Meanwhile, Gritty crashed a wedding. At least there’s that.
The Flyers host Ottawa on Tuesday. While you wait and maybe hope Dave Hakstol gets fired (which probably won’t happen), check out a new episode of Snow The Goalie.
Here’s what happened on the local college hoops scene this weekend:
Villanova won the Advocare Invitation with wins over Oklahoma State and Florida State.
St. Joe’s fell just short against William & Mary.
La Salle lost to Northwestern on Friday and to Grand Canyon on Sunday in the Wooden Legacy Tournament
Drexel suffered a 10-point loss to Bowling Green.
Penn crushed Stockton at home.
In other sports news, the Bills and Jaguars made their game interesting by fighting.
Tyler Lockett recreated AI’s stepover.
Phil Mickelson defeated Tiger Woods in “The Match”, but Bleacher Report faced technical problems that resulted in a free stream at the last minute and refunds everywhere.
In the news, the Delaware Memorial Bridge reopened after a gas leak.
It’s Cyber Monday, so buy online.

England v All Blacks at Twickenham, delicious drop shots and teen strikers
This week’s roundup also features some dreadful dives, a high school football comeback and vintage Australian motorsport
1) It’s England against the All Blacks at Twickenham this weekend, which is a rivalry of sorts … albeit deeply one-sided as New Zealand have won 16 of the 23 contests there since 1925. The Red Rose’s last victory was in 2012, featuring three tries in eight minutes and a show-stopping performance from Manu Tuilagi; for balance, witness Joe Rokocoko in his pomp in 2006 as the hosts were thrashed 41-20, the highlight being Carl Hayman scoring one of his two international tries, and what a try it was. Perhaps the greatest ever contest between the two teams, at least on English shores, was this try-fest from 2002; or maybe it’s this 26-26 humdinger from 1997. The opening match of the 1991 World Cup included a big hit by Peter Winterbottom on Graeme Bachop; the great No 7 had also been in action eight years earlier as England claimed their first win over New Zealand at Twickenham for 47 years.
2) No matter what transpires on Saturday afternoon, though, it’s unlikely to top Auguy Slowik’s 80m try for Jersey against London Irish in the Championship last weekend.

After months of inactivity and delays the Nigeria Professional Football League finally kicked off in style at the weekend with matches played in eight venues across the country. The race to see who dethrones Enyimba as champions of the NPFL began on Sunday as only four teams – Plateau United, Wikki Tourists, Ifeanyi Ubah and Abia Warriors – recorded home victories while MFM earned a stunning result in Owerri. It was an interesting battle at the New Jos Stadium in Jos where hosts Plateau Unitedconfirmed their superiority over Lobi Stars with a 3-1 triumph in a thrilling contest that had fans on the edge of their seats throughout.Nerot Silas put United ahead in the 12th minute before a Solomon Kwambe own goal extended the home side’s lead soon after. Sikiru Alimi netted from the penalty spot to half the deficit for the visitors just before the break. But it proved to be just a consolation goal, after Amos Gyang smashed in United’s third midway into the second half. The star fixture for the weekend was expected to be in Kano where Pillars played host to Rivers United. However, it ended goalless as Rivers United, who defeated MaiSu Gida in... source: https://nigeriasoccernet.com/
