Tokyo Debunker Gem Guide!

There are different Gems that users can purchase using shards earned from raids or rolling on the banners available. There are a total of ten different types of Gems.

Keep reading for the full guide!

Gem Levels:

The gems range from lvl 1 to lvl 9, drastically gaining more power with each level. As a beginner, it is ideal to save for level 5 gems as they boost your team enough to pass early cases in the Galaxy Express. As you gradually level up as a player and the majority of your warding cards hold some kind of gem (preferably lvl 3 and above from suitcases), you can begin saving for lvl 9 gems.

To get an idea of the major difference in power depending on level, here are the power stats for lvls 1, 3, 5, and 9:

(Gem power varies from gem type to gem type)

Gem Types:

There is hidden information that is hard to find which describes what each stat does for each card. I will be including those descriptions to help users understand how different gem types work.

ATK (Red) gem:

ATK is “the ATK stat that a Character Card starts each battle with. This affects all the types of damage that a Character Card can deal”.

PATK (Orange) gem:

PATK is “the physical attack stat that a Character Card starts each battle with. This affects the physical damage that a Character Card can deal”.

SATK (Pink) gem:

SATK is “the special attack stat that a Character Card starts each battle with. This affects the special damage that a Character Card can deal”.

STR (Purple) gem:

STR is the strength stat that “increases a card’s ATK and PATK stats”.

INT (Yellow) gem:

INT is the intelligence stat that “increases a card’s ATK and SATK stats”.

HP (White) gem:

HP is “the hit points that a Character Card starts each battle with. When a Character Card’s HP reaches 0, the Character Card is removed from the field”.

PDEF (Green) gem:

PDEF is “the physical defense stat that a Character Card starts each battle with. This affects the amount of physical damage that a Character Card receives when attacked by an enemy”.

SDEF (Dark Blue) gem:

SDEF is “the special defense stat that a Character Card starts each battle with. This affects the amount of special damage that a Character Card received when attacked by an enemy”.

VIT (Light Blue) gem:

VIT is the vitality stat that “increases a card’s HP and PDEF stats”.

TEN (Black) gem:

TEN is the tenacity stat that “increases a card’s HP and SDEF stats”.

Gems on Cards and Equipment:

There are two places gems can be equipped: Warding cards and Equipment

Warding cards are the easiest to equip as you can put gems on any of the rarities. On the other hand, you can only equip gems on equipment ranked higher than A (R, SR, SSR). You can craft higher ranked equipment at the same place where you dig for ores daily. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to get materials for SSR equipment without spending diamonds on that banner. Regardless, SR equipment is very useful and can also hold gems.

When you are adding gems to a warding card or equipment, the first thing you want to do is check what kind of character card type it is (P. Attacker or S. Attacker). Knowing this, you can automatically remove certain gems that will not be useful to the card. You can check by clicking on the “skills” button when viewing a character card.

Here are the gems you would use depending on the card type:

S. Attacker: SATK, SDEF, ATK, Tenacity, Intelligent, HP.

P. Attacker: PATK, PDEF, ATK, Vitality, Strength, HP.

Lastly, you may be asking which gems to use since you can only put three on each card and it may be better to double up on gems (the same gem on the warding card and equipment). Once again, click on the “skills” button to read about the Passive Skills, Active Skills, and Unique Skills. Here, it will tell you what the card uses, if it has a certain bonus and what the skills scale off of.

Example:

Using Towa’s R card as an example, we see that his Passive Skill scales off of ATK and is used after this card dies. With this information, we know an ATK gem will be very useful in this case.

One of Towa’s Active Skills scales off of his max HP, suggesting we should add a HP gem to increase his overall HP.

Lastly, his unique skill increases his own S DEF by 5% but only if the card has defeated two enemies. This tells us two things. First, the card needs to be strong enough to kill two cards which suggests we should add a S ATK gem. This skill also suggests we should add S DEF as this Skill scales off of the total SDEF of the card. Knowing this, you can choose between the 4 gems suggested, or in the case you have higher ranked equipment, you can use all four and double up on multiple.

A quick reminder, don’t let the fact that some gems don’t give as much power as others even if they are the same level. The ones with less power tend to boost MULTIPLE stats at the same time while gems with more power only boosts one stat.

Warning: just VERY SLIGHTLY suggestive, kinda angsty, Alan probably crumbling into dust at the faintest touch etc

“... this is stupid.”

Alan has been staring at the car’s engine for the past 15 minutes, without actually seeing what was in front of him. He doesn't really know what kind of anomaly was presenting itself in that entanglement of wires and metal (and blood red flesh).

He sighs, rubbing his face with his hands, smearing it with soot.

“... What kind of stupid reaction was that” he thinks to himself, eyebrows scrunched as he cringes painfully, remembering how he had made a fool of himself in front of the honor student.

His hand goes to rub the top of his own head, as if he could rub off the ghost of their touch. But if his previous attempts were anything to go by, he obviously could not.

Alan isn’t a fool – of that, he was completely sure of. He may not be as bright as the other Captains, and he may be a disaster with technology, but he isn’t a fool and he prides himself on the fact that his self-awareness has constantly kept other people safe.

There is no room for longing and pining in his own life, no matter how much his brain tries to trick him into thinking about the honor student for longer than necessary.

He gulps harshly, mouth dry, still eyeing the engine that contorts itself as it swallows more and more bits and pieces of metal.

The honor student has been nothing but helpful towards Vagastrom and the other dorms, and incredibly patient and kind when the circumstances would probably justify their hatred towards ghouls, yet Alan couldn’t help but feel bitter at the thought of them.

It would be so much easier if they were scared of him, if they kept their distance, if they saw him as a threat much like the other humans – but they aren’t, not at all. And this bitterness coats his tongue heavily, like lead, whenever his awful hands touch the top of their head to compliment them for doing a good job, and they turn towards Alan, beaming with joy at his comment.

Alan unconsciously finds any excuse to touch them and to have their attention, however briefly, and he deeply despises himself for it.

He revels in the brush of his fingers with theirs when he gives them coffee and on the feeling of their hair between his fingers.

More than that, he discovered he has found respite from himself in the way their eyes would light up once they found him in the crowd, and in the blind trust they have on him, even after he drenched himself in blood before their eyes.

Alan clenches his fists, and the anomaly keeps on eating and eating every bit of the metal right in front of him, the car becoming more blood red than gray.

He is ashamed of himself.

Alan knew there was nothing hidden in the way they smiled at him. Yet, in the quiet humming of the night, he remembers those lips saying his name over and over again during the day, and imagines how they would feel against his skin.

How would it feel if he made them say his name over and over again as a whisper, a scream, a moan, a sob – and then he gets dizzy, as the blood in his head goes to a part of his body he would rather not think about.

Not only was he a threat just by existing, but now he's also disgusting? What would Dante say if he knew of these thoughts? Maybe he would feel ashamed he died to someone so pathetic.

Alan sighs deeply once again.

“Another sigh? That's another happiness that is leaving your body, you know?” a sarcastic voice comes from the entrance of the garage.

“Hello, Leo.”

Leo strolls his way towards Alan, looking everywhere but at the Captain.

“What's bothering the almighty Captain of Vagastrom, hm? You can count on your Vice-Captain for anything, you know? Open your little stone heart to me~” The gray-haired boy says, eager for the scoop on yet another possible gossip (or blackmail material. Who knows with Leo).

“... Nothing's wrong.”

Alan blinks owlishly, finally fully coming back from his thoughts, and stares at the anomaly in front of him.

“Shit!”

Before him, the unknown anomalous monster has eaten the entire engine of the car, leaving it devoid of any components, with ample space for it to squirm unnaturally inside – a pit of a blood red mess that seems about to either burst at any given moment or eat itself alive, hungry with nothing else to swallow.

“Uwaa… this looks like one of those gross Lovecraftian monsters… this is sooo disgusting.” Leo says as he snaps pictures of the monster on his phone from every angle possible.

“Why are you taking pictures, then.” Alan slams the car's hood down, placing a defensive spell on the opening, sealing the monster inside. He will send it to Mortkranken so they can do their weird experiments on it later. His mind isn't up for any problems at the moment.

“Uuhh, scary~ you're the one that failed to control it, though, so don't take it out on me” Leo sticks his tongue out. "Aaanyways, I saw that mission that the NPC brought us today, and it looks so easy! Can I do it?”

“No.” Alan retorts immediately, staring at Leo with cold eyes, and the gray-haired man immediately scowls, eyes clouding with anger.

“You never let me do anything I want, you're SO fucking annoying. And guess what? I bet it's just because you're in love with that annoying NPC and want to do the mission alone with them. It's ridiculous. AND disgusting. Are you a pervert? I guess you are. Who knew the big boss was just a pervert”

The younger man lets out a string of curses and shows him the middle finger as he walks away and towards his bedroom, without waiting for any answer “You're gonna regret pissing me off!” he finishes, slamming his bedroom door loudly, as if to make his point clearer.

“Okay.” Alan mutters, paying no mind to his endless daily threats, and looks at the entrance of the garage.

At least Leo managed to bring him back to reality, although it was already too late to keep the anomaly at bay.

The boy is right though. He is disgusting.

Alan presses his palms into his eyes, breathing deeply, grounding himself. He needs to concentrate. To focus on his work, on helping the students. Living on the clouds just isn't an option for someone like him. Not after all he had done.

And as the lights blind him once he opens his eyes again, his gaze quickly focuses on the highest steel beam that stood above the garage's entrance.

There, two Like Doves stare at him, unblinking, unmoving.

it's interesting to see how of all the boys from tokyo debunker, towa is the most affectionate with mc.

few of the boys are as fond of mc as kaito, luca and sho are. but i like how liberal and trustworthy towa can be to the point of hugging her and giving her flowers and even and defend her even without a direct request from haru.

Hello, it's hotarubi-sho anon again. Just saw that post on Taiga asking mc if she's "ditched this future" too and wondering what your thoughts are on that! My mind is blank rn bc I'm having a really bad tummy ache and need something to think about lol.

I have a lot of thoughts on the potential of it because I am a huge huge HUGE fan of romances that involve some kind of time travel shenanigans, the flavor of "I'd love you in every world/every timeline" never gets old for me. The angst of one person not remembering the other (or both of them) but they fall for each other all over again. A person crazy enough to end their alternate selves and take their place bc their loved is dead in their own timeline. A person willing to turn back time at a great cost bc nothing matter's more than their partner's wellbeing. Insane, I'll never not go crazy for these plots, if it's not at least this dramatic I don't want it (lol)

Wondering if the mc in the burning academy is from a "future she ditched". How is she connected to the time loop? Is she the cause? How does it happen the first time, does she do it just to save whoever was on the balcony? Why does Taiga have awareness about this when he can barely remember her? His messed up memory having something to do with experiencing loops would make sense. I feel like the Like Dove must have done something very terrifying in some future for his reaction now. And suddenly his importance has increased it's like I'm slowly being made to understand why he's the poster boy now lol.

So many questions and not enough answers I really hope Hotarubi chapter doesn't make it WORSE please answer some plot points instead.

See the one thing I want to disagree with is the idea the like dove does something terrifying? Because it's a dove... so what could it do shit on him? I see more reasons to be afraid of Peekaboo than the dove... but then again it is still an anomaly. Maybe he saw it during a particularly traumatic event that he struggles to remember so that's why he reacted so badly to it? (i am so sorry i abandoned you to your tummy ache I hope it got better)

I think whatever caused the timeloop likely started the previous year with the clash, as for why his memory is clear about it his memory loss seems to relate to the first and second year students. He knows who the third years are and has a solid grasp on things that happened during his first year at the school, it's the next two where things get screwey so I want to know more about those.

I don't want to say MC is the cause of the timeloop just yet? But not because I don't think that could be the case, I just don't have the evidence for it yet. I think The Hotarubi Chapter will answer some stuff, but likely make the questions we do have deeper. I think there's a chance that the chapter might end with Ritsu telling us he's finished reading the school's records about the clash and then that will be our set up going into Mortenkranken's chapter. Maybe anyway?
