It was something you’d thought about for some time. To tell her, or not? Floris certainly didn’t know the deeper details, but you knew she would have had suspicions.
Aemond was obviously unbothered if such information circulated, having put a very large proverbial wall between him and Otto the moment he was discharged from hospital. And yet, it still wouldn’t feel right, airing out all the Targaryen dirty laundry like that.
Even if he said it was okay.
But maybe, on a deeper level, Floris and El at least, deserved the truth.

The cold winter chill nips at your bones, even through the layers of thermal clothing you've got piled on, the thick socks, boots and an overcoat, it still feels positively freezing.
“Who are you texting, missy?” you tease, bumping El on the shoulder, shoving your hands into your thick coat pockets.

King's Landing Winter Wonderland, Christmas Market and trinket shops, though it's far too early for any of that, it gets the people into the spirit. Stalls line the market square with several of them selling holiday related items as well as food, with an ice rink circling the entirety of the perimeter.
The air smells of mulled wine, cooked meats and the laughter of families and couples alike. With their warm breath creating clouds of white with each exhale.

She is far too excited to say that literally a few hours before she was struggling to use her two flippers to stay upright on the rink. Nevermind going backwards.
It’s quite entertaining to see her drag you by the hand excitedly to the ticket gate.
“One ticket for skating, please! Size 5!” she beams at the receptionist, who looks like he’d rather be dead right now.
You furrow your brows, “One? Did you want to go on by yourself and I watch or-”

You don’t even really have time to cuss her out/question the situation, it feels like your brain is in overdrive.
There, either hand leaning against the entrance to the ice rink, where the public are zipping around slowly, laughing, pink in the face, hand in hand, is Aemond. The familiar ribbons of platinum hair that have fallen from the hair tie, now slightly waved from the moisture in the air, sways with the breeze at his shoulders.
He has that slack smirk on his face, his tall broad form leaning on one side, ankles crossed with the low quality skates on, tapping the tip onto the ice.
Even in a heavy looking coat, his hair messily done up and pink cheeks from where the cold had been hitting them, he still looks every bit as handsome as you remembered him.
It makes your heart sigh to see him smile at you with that glimmer in his eye. Blinking slowly and admiringly at you.
"Hey, Princess", he greets warmly.
You almost drop the skates in your hands, the cold wisps of wind making you realise now that your eyes are all wet.

Ok so
I have a ZX Spectrum 48k in my collection, which was considered a budget computer in the early 1980's (it was released in 1982).

Here is what it looks like.
I got it 4 years ago for cheap because it didn't work at all, and i managed then to make it back to work again. For like a month, because then the video signal started to degrade, and then it became completely scrabled.
So 4 years later (waiting time due to various circumstances) i managed to get back to it, and i bought a replacement for the ULA chip.
ULA standing for Uncommited Logic Array, is an IC responsible for: generating the 3.5MHz clock signal for the CPU (which is divided down from the 14MHz crystal oscillator on the board), generating video, generating audio, all the I/O (keyboard, tape), so it is REALLY important, even more important than the CPU because it has more priority in access to the RAM.
So i think the original Ferranti (Ferranti is the manufacturer who made these for Sinclair, the company manufacturing ZX Spectrum) ULA has started to degrade, as it could be told by how fucking hot it ran.
So i did some work beside replacing ULA, replaced capacitors, mounted in a ram chip which i for some reason attempted to desolder the last time i tried to repair this computer, replaced voltage regulator and applied new heatpaste for the thermal sink for the voltage regulator, and ordered a new ULA replacement "vLA83" all the way from New Zealand. And it arrived. And i somehow broke it.
So now i have a set of new ram chips i ordered, i replaced a crystal oscillator which i didn't have to replace after all (i replaced the wrong one, the 4.43 which generates the video color subcarrier frequency for PAL video which is not as important to the ULA as it doesn't generate clock signal for rest of the components), i have new DRAM waiting to be inserted, and the old Z80 CPU is replaced.
Oh and i have to order a new vLA82:/
Beside that this computer looks beautifull as i replaced the faceplate (the metal sheet that covers the keyboard) and applied new white paint to the "ZX Spectrum" marking on the front:3
Beside that i think it would have been REALLY cool to get this working, meaning that 1: i would have 2 working ZX Spectrum different computer models (48k and +2), and also i like how small it is and also this machine NEEDS to come back i NEED this girl to live.
Beside that i been putting together a one working Sanyo walkman (as per my last electronics ramblings post), transferring tapes, needing to sell some of my stuff (2 tape recorders, 2 old rotary phones, 1 Sony Vaio laptop, spring reverb unit and a radio and a multimeter) and honestly i will be going to a vintage video game market looking to find something interesting:3
I still have a few computers/consoles needing to be repaired tho:
Intellivision
Commodore PC20-III
Playstation 2 Slim
Dell Inspiron PP21L
So these are on the waiting list, and if i am done with some of them i may sell the Dell (need more space).
I really like for the Commodore to work out of these (i need to repair the psu for it to work and for that i need an isolation transformer), as it has an 8-bit XT interface WD hard drive which may or may not works. Plus it has interesting features like built in video card.
The Intellivision needs a second spares console for the repair to be successful tho TwT (the chips are not common and are no longer being made, btw the CPU inside it is based off a CPU from a 16 bit minicomputer PDP-11!!!!!!!)

2023 End of year keyboard review

Hi yalls!
So we're approaching the end of the year. Since then, more keyboards have entered the market and I've managed to build some of them. At the same time, group buy orders managed to arrive. I'm so happy that I've been able to expand my collection with these items.
Honourable mentions
Due to how expensive the keyboard hobby is, I couldn't grab everything that was released this year. At the same time, I had to sell some of the keebs that I used to own due to a variety of reasons.
For starters, the QK and Jris series have been super amazing for opening doors for high-quality budget options in the market. I own the QK75 and remade my first keyboard build and I swear to god the improvement is immaculate.
Next is Mode Designs. They have released a bunch of high-quality boards and boy howdy, I wish I could own them all. The Envoy was well-loved in the community and the release of the Loop is so cute. I wish I could grab my hands on it, but I'm satisfied with my Sonnet, which is still available to this day and now has new colour options.
Lastly, it's the established keyboard companies like Asus and Razer as they've released some hotswap keyboards. The one that caught my eye the most is the Azoth. I would trade in my old Corsaid K70 for that keyboard. If anyone is willing to do so, hit me up.
Now, here are my top 5 boards.
5. The Dreamscape build

We all know how I've felt about this build. It took 2 years and it's finally here. I love this build for the soft aesthetic and I'm so glad I can finally use this keyboard. It's such a shame it took so long because there were times I was losing hope and was considering giving it a different build.

As for the use and feel, it's nice. A bit mushy cuz of the switches. But at least no one will get mad at me when I type during meetings because apparently, they can pick up my typing sounds. Its the ultimate dream silent keyboard.
I'm just happy this build is finally complete cuz omg, imagine if this went on to 2024. I would lose my sh*t.
4. Rama Thermal

Getting used to the HHKB layout has been a challenge. Fortunately, I ended up getting used to it after a few months. I do miss my arrow keys but using function + WASD was a good alternative. I will admit that my productivity at work did slow down during the first few weeks.

While Rama might have some controversies, it's actually a really nice board. Has a really unique look it, something that I'm after when I buy keyboards. However, after comparing it to other builds, it's not really great. The sound quality feels hollow (despite tape modding it), and the keycaps and switches sound output doesn't help at all so I ended up rebuilding it.
Right now, as of writing, I'm using temporary parts for a later build and it's going to take a while for me to find the right combo. I will update you once I made something worth showcasing a sound test. I am interested in trying out the Akko Penguin Silent Switches so hopefully a muted build is what this build needs.
If there is something I learned from this keyboard - DON'T BUY FROM RAMAWORKS.
3. The Nordic Build
The boards may look good but their reputation sunk so bad. I had to file a bank complaint just so they could reply and get this board shipped (mind you, it was a in-stock item).

Originally, the keyboard that I wanted to use was the Loki65. But thanks to Mechs and Co, that was heavily delayed. I've always had eyes on the Fuji keyboard series since I started this hobby in 2021. So thanks to the Keebs For All Marketplace, someone was selling theirs for a good price and I got it.

Aesthetics-wise, it looks pretty good. All the colours complement each other and I'm quite happy. The reason I wanted to make this build is that my favourite country is Iceland and I wanted to build a keyboard inspired by my trip there in 2019. The only flaw with this build is that the switches sound scratchy. But that's because I didn't lube them. Could be fixed if I do that.
I look forward to the day when the Loki65 gets shipped as I think my thoughts will change when it arrives.
2. The Tofu Build

Believe it or not, this was the first keyboard I built this year and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. The reason why built this keyboard is because I was inspired by Magic The Gathering - Kamigawa Neon Dynasty and this build resembles that trading card set.

This keyboard is THOCKY. It's not as thocky compared to modern builds but it has that low-profile sound that was highly sought after during the pandemic. I can see why this was a beloved build back in the early days of the keyboard hobby.
While the Tofu has increased in price over the years, I believe it's a testament to how the hobby has changed. I'm glad to have a piece of keyboard history in my collection.
1. The Sonnet Build

This has to be my newest go-to keyboard. From the looks, sound, and aesthetics, it was worth it. It took a while for me to figure out which keycaps to use since it originally had Osume Dusk. I think the greys from the Hooties are much better.

Using this board has that 5/5 experience. The sound is so satisfying, the feel is really nice. The artisans complement the board so well. And the fact that the Sonnet is a really good quality keyboard adds extra points. I highly recommend getting the Sonnet when you have the chance to do so.

So, mech lore !
As I said in the previous post, mech battles happen some times after the third world war. Well, some of the veterans quickly took interest of this new sport, including today’s pilot. As you can see, sequels of the fights are still visible on his body, his hand being the most visible one. Of course, he could have had a normal hand, because it’s an easy thing, but he didn’t want to. He wanted to show what he had partook in, and this glowing hook was the coolest thing he found on the market.
At first, he didn’t really even watched mech fights, but eventually, some of his friends made during the war decided it would be fun to watch it together. And they enjoyed it. Enjoyed it so much, they decided they wanted to participate.
So, they did what any normal group of war veteran did : they looked for a place to scavenge spare parts and assemble a mech of their own, that would be out of the usual roaster of mark III and IV mechs. What they found was what was left of a large dig site, abandoned at some point in the past. Among the scraps, one of them found the large QUAKE panels. Probably the name of the company that used to be here. It would do the job.
It took some time for Quake to get into large-scale tournaments, because it usually fell apart quickly. With some experience, the team managed to get it in a usable state, and when it didn’t break down, the mech was doing some heavy damages. Don’t trust the electric panel on its back, it’s entirely coal-fuelled (coal which was provided by the dig site) and Quake is probably one of the only mechs powered by a thermal engine, but it gives it a powerful advantage : as long as it’s fuelled, it can deliver extremely powerful blows with its large arms, as well as it can withstand powerful attacks (that’s what the shoulder plates are for). With this mining equipment, Quake, after it began to be known, made itself quite of a name in the arena.

Also, I’m trying an old camera of mine to take pictures, because the lighting is better, although it’s less flexible than my phone’s. I’m still trying to get a good feeling as to what I’m preferring.
Random interesting thing to notice about the build itself : All articulations have different kinds of joints : bionicle ball-joints for the arms, technic pin for the hips, small ball joints to connect the legs and the body, old technic joints for the knees, and simple handle joints for the feet. It was accidental, but I think it fits well with the history of the mech.

The thermal spring water of Fiuggi Fonte Bonifacio VIII reopens its doors.

The town of Fiuggi, located south of Rome, boasts the presence of two thermal springs, Fonte Bonifacio VIII and Fonte Anticolana, which have given rise to one of the largest and oldest thermal complexes in Italy, with ancient origins.
Fiuggi is one of the most important hot spring resort towns in Europe. It has two beautiful parks and is known for its healing mineral springs that flow from Fonte Bonifacio VIII and Fonte Anticolana.
The sources reopen after a period of stasis with a wholly redesigned new look. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Boniface VIII Spring will take place on April 1st, according to the new management who recently took over the water bottling, golf course, and Anticolana spring.
This is a long-awaited piece of news in the city for all the local economic actors. The seasonal reopening of the hot springs symbolizes the start of the city's economic engine. It's linked to an allied industry with dozens of hotels, businesses, and workers.
The new owners of the Terme di Fiuggi, the entrepreneurs Stirpe, Borgomeo, Battisti, and Benedetto, have kept to the schedule announced at the press conference at the beginning of the year, proposing the same operational goals that characterize the Fiuggi facilities. The golf course is already accessible, the Bonifacio VIII spring will be opened on April 1st, and the Anticolana spring traditionally will open its doors on June 1st.
As announced by the new ownership, there won't be any profound changes or upheavals inside the park. But there will be a profound innovation in the services offered and a lot of investment in the historical relationship between the spa and the medical and scientific world.

Challenges in THz Technology
6G will use a spectrum above 100 GHz and will ultimately reach THz. SiGe BiCMOS technology currently provides the best compromise in terms of performance, low cost, and simplicity of integration for frequencies ranging from 200 GHz to 500 GHz. InP could be the ultimate THz technology and may be suitable in applications where cost is not the primary concern.

Furthermore, as the spectrum expands beyond 275 GHz, interesting use cases worth highlighting include the use of THz connections as wireless links to replace fiber for data centers, enabling reconfigurable routes and allowing the reduction of the size of server/router racks, and of course, significant cost reduction; and creating one or multiple point-to-point high-speed communication links within a device, enabling faster routing.
To summarize, the strong business cases IDTechEx sees for 6G are presently centered on business-to-business use cases. However, this is not to suggest that 6G will not be essential in consumer communication markets; rather, a compelling use case must be demonstrated in order to promote widespread adoption in consumer markets.
