Chapter 6 : Rishikesh
Chapter 6 : Rishikesh
Miss Briganza story continues…. And she, being my friend, lives the most planned life. I asked her if she was available for dinner that day, but she had other plans. She said they have to catch the bus next morning at 7:00 AM for the trek near the Beatles Café, Tapovan. I told her to let me know when she arrives there, as the place was a 5-minute walk from my hostel in Tapovan. Next morning at…

Chapter 5 : Rishikesh
Chapter 5 : Rishikesh
I don’t seek adventure, The adventure seeks me It was around 1:00 PM when I came out of Beatles Aashram, or Chaurasi Kutiya. The weather forecast stated that there would be heavy showers during the day. Since morning, the clouds had arranged themselves already, but there were no signs of rain. The temperature was 26 but the rise in humidity made it feel like 50 C. I knew that it would rain…

Chapter 4 : Rishikesh
Chapter 4 : Rishikesh
Yoga, Aarti, Music and all things amusing As I was heading back, near the outskirts of Rishikesh, I banged a car from behind. My speed was low, but I fell from my vehicle. The owner was also nice and asked me if I was okay and did not make any complaints nor ask for money. As he…

Chapter 2 : Rishikesh, Main to thak gaya bhaisahab !
Chapter 2 : Rishikesh, Main to thak gaya bhaisahab !
The bus journey was too bumpy for a minute of sleep. To save a couple of hundred bucks, I had booked last-row seats, which don’t recline and also do not have enough leg room. But somehow, I reached Haridwar. From Haridwar, we had a smaller pickup bus to take us further to Rishikesh. Haridwar is a sight in itself! Morning’s charm, Aartis and bhajans playing along the ghats, were complementing the…

Vypin Island and Guruvayoor
Vypin Island and Guruvayoor
Unlike many other previous unplanned trips, this was a planned visit to explore northern side of Kochi. I had planned my trip before as I was exploring two locations in a weekend. Both just at a distance of 60 km from each other, one was temple city and other was an island between the vast ocean and calm backwaters. The temple city was called Guruvayoor and island was Vypin island located north…

Kochi Weekends : Fort Kochi
Kochi Weekends : Fort Kochi
This place requires a special mention during my Kerala time, as it was my ‘Go to Place’. Fort Kochi is an island located to west of Ernakulam city of India. The island is about 12 kilometres away from Ernakulam main city and is well connected through roads and ferries are available too. It depends on your choice what to prefer, a 30 minute ride in bus or 15 minute ride through ferry.
Fort…
