Jayden,

When we first started talking on plenty of fish I decided I wanted to be honest with you about my life, my health and my living situation. I wanted someone who knew all of me, the good and the bad. I let you know that life with me would mean now doubt include trips to the hospital, specialist appointments and even possible surgeries. It would mean days when I am to sick to get out of bed or days when I simply just couldn’t deal with the world. I said to you that if that was something you could weren’t ok with then I would understand, and honestly I just expected you to run for the hills but instead you surprised me and just seemed to take it all in your stride. 

We talked on the phone for over 10 hours that very first day and about the same the next day too. We decided to meet up and go on a date with no expectations but rather just to get to know each other, we had nothing to lose. We arranged to have some fish and chips on the beach in Rockingham. Saturday afternoon rolled around you turned up at my house in your jackaroo, still dressed in your white paint gear after doing a cashie. Something about you made me feel at ease and comfortable. Which was unusual for me. We hugged, hopped in the car and off we drove. I’m pretty sure by the time we made it to your house I was as high as a kite from the metho and paint in the back of the 4by. You of coarse were used to it but boy oh boy I was not maybe that was your plan all along hahaha!

We never made it to the beach that afternoon but instead we talked, watched mrs. browns boys, ate dinner and then watched some movies. It was a good time in fact such a good time I didn’t go home for a week. Dad phoned me the next day and asked how the date went. I think he was concerned I might have been made into a lamp shade or something but when I said I’m still on the date he said oh… so you’re having a good time then? I was happy, happier than I had felt in a long time. 

During that first week together I ended up in Rockingham hospital twice on a drip with vertigo. You just took it all in your stride once again and I asked if you were still prepared for life to be unpredictable with me and you still chose to stay. We have been together ever since. Our lives just seamlessly integrated. We went back and forth between houses until we were able to get a house of our own and the rest is history!

Jayden I want you to know that you are my rock, you are the ball to my chain (and by that I mean you keep me grounded), you know how to take care of me, you love me when I feel unlovable, you help me when I can’t help myself. You laugh at my terrible jokes, I laugh at you laughing and then we laugh so hard we can’t breathe and have tears in our eyes. You are my biggest support, the air that I breathe and the love of my life. Not to mention the best cat dad to Cookie and Beanie and the best bun dad to Lola when she was still with us. With you I am complete. You protect me when I am vulnerable. You are more than I could have ever imagined and more than I could have ever asked for. You have seen me at my best and also at my very worst and I know I am hard to live with some days and maybe a little difficult to love but everyday you wake up and you choose me. I am so lucky to have you as my other half and am so proud to now call you my husband. 

I feel extremely blessed to have amazing in-laws, your whole family have made me feel so accepted and loved. Both set of your parents have done a wonderful job raising you and shaping you into the man you are today. For that I am eternally grateful.

I promise to love you for all the days of my life, to always be your biggest fan and your biggest support, to take care of you and to protect you. I cannot guarantee you sunshine but i can promise to stand beside you no matter how hard it rains…I am so excited to see what our future holds. I look forward to adding to our family, I think you will be an amazing father. I’m so incredibly proud of us and all that we have become together. I love you with all of my heart and I am so excited to finally be your wife!
