[There is a Festive's Eve party happening at the Protectors Guild, and Catherine is standing in a corner, away from all the Pokémon she doesn't know, as usual.]
[Unbeknownst to her, Elise and Sophie knew about this and they rigged the corner with mistletoe while she wasn't looking.
Surely, no one will take advantage of this... right?]

Fenninkou: "Cool! An actual Xerneas! What do you do here? What does it mean to be the 'Pokemon of Life'?" The teen eagerly bounced on her toes. Her tail swished and wagged hyperly.
[Xerneas looks towards the hybrid with a little bit of curiousity, themself.]
[Xerneas]
"Interesting. I've never seen a Pokémon quite like you before..."
[Before they could let their curiosity get to them, they snap their attention back to the question at hand.]
[Xerneas]
"I digress. I am the founder of this town."
[Sophie]
"Really? Are you, like, the leader?"
[Xerneas]
"Long ago, but now that rule falls to democracy. Nowadays, I stand by the city and help during times of distress.
And as the Pokémon of Life, I have the power to bring life to anyone and anywhere. For example, this very tree you're standing in is my doing, and so are the trees that surround and house this very city."
[Sophie and Catherine look shocked.]
[Sophie]
"Wait, you made the entire city?!"
[Xerneas]
"Not by myself. I grew the trees that would be the base for many buildings in the area, and the Pokémon here shaped them all into what they needed."
[Sophie]
"Wait, so you can, just, grow trees whenever you wanted?"
[Xerneas]
"Yes, but, again, that's not all I can do. As the Pokémon of Life, I can also instill vitality into those who I wish."
[Sophie]
"What's that mean?"
[Xerneas]
"Allow me to explain from the beginning?"
[Sophie]
"It won't be boring, will it?"
[Xerneas]
"It's a simple explanation, I assure it won't be... but if you want, I could, instead, show you."
[Sophie]
"Wait, really?"
[Xerneas]
"Yes. I would need a volunteer, however."
[Sophie clenches her right hand into a fist and smacks her chest with a confident smirk on her face.]
[Sophie]
"Count me in."
[Xerneas]
"Very well."
[Xerneas stands proud and tall. Their antlers and legs begin to change color; from the base all the way to the end, it goes from the bright blue to a shiny yellow. The gems on its antlers also change color, going from a single blue for all of them to a variety of different colors, from red, to yellow, to purple, and a more saturated blue. Once the transformation is finished, Xerneas looks up to the sky.
Eight pillars of yellow light surround them, all surrounded by different circular particles of the colors present on their horns.
Sophie looks on in amazement, while Catherine looks concerned.]
[Catherine, thoughts]
"(What's going on? What is he doing?)"
[After Catherine finishes her thought, the pillars turn blue and shoot up above Xerneas, forming into a massive ball of energy floating above their antlers. Xerneas then looks towards Sophie; their eyes flash yellow, and the energy shoots out as a beam towards the Slowking, absorbing itself into her.
Catherine gasps, not knowing exactly what is going on. Confusion races through her mind, and she can only hope nothing bad is happening to her best friend.
Once the last of the energy is absorbed, Xerneas returns to their blue color.
Sophie looks at her hands and realizes there is now a faint yellow glow around her body.]
[Catherine, worried]
"Sophie? Are you okay?"
[The Slowking quickly looks at the concerned Dragonite, but he has a smile on her face.]
[Sophie]
"Cath, I feel like I could take on an army of Ursarings!"
[Catherine, confused]
"Huh?"
[Xerneas lightly chuckles.]
[Xerneas]
"That's usually how it feels.]
[Sophie, curious]
"What did you do to me?"
[Xerneas]
"That, is my signature move, Geomancy. With it, I can give anyone, from just one Pokémon to an entire community, a surge of strength and energy."
[Sophie]
"So, this is the power of the Pokémon of Life?"
[Xerneas nods.]
[Xerneas]
"The power to revigorate, bring life to where there is none, and to make sure this life is healthy and lasting, that is what it means to be the Pokémon of Life."
[Sophie's more focused on the Geomancy glow and its effects on her.]
[Sophie]
"This is so cool."

(to Catherine) Nick stepped outside on the [balcony? patio? front yard?] where Catherine was. Seeing the Dragonite alone, he walked up to her and sat down.
"Are things too loud for you in there?" Nick asked, breaking the metaphorical ice. "I needed to step out for a second. the noise and people in there started to get too much for me." He breathes in and out, kicking his legs back and forth as a stim. "I hope you don't mind my company for a little while?"
[Catherine looks over at the Greedent.]
[Catherine, nervous]
"Oh, no. I don't mind."
[She pauses for a second.]
[Catherine, nervous]
"I'm not surprised it's noisy. It looks like a lot of Pokémon, and humans, are inside. I think I would be cramped if I went in there."
[She takes a deep breath in and then exhales through her nose before looking at the sky.]
[Catherine, nervous]
"I'm just out here because I don't want to a... accidentally cause a scene."

(Crow@Cathrine) “So people treat you like a criminal cause of some other jerks huh? I know a thing or two about that,” Crow said with confidence. Muttering used his breath, “cause I was one.” He shook his head before giving a fanged smile, “you can’t let those jerks get to you. You gotta act with confidence even when you don’t have it. Show them all how much cooler you are than those losers! As they say fake it till ya make it!”
[The Dragonite was surprised from what the Gimmighoul had said.]
[Catherine, nervous]
"Wow. I... Thank you. That... means a lot, coming from someone like you."
[She gave him a little smile for a second before she slightly turns her head away and looks down.]
[Catherine, nervous]
"It's been... tough, to say the least."
[She closes her eyes takes a deep breath. Then, she raises her right hand slightly up before planting it on her left hand, her head facing forward again, and her eyes opening and following her hand in the process.]
[Catherine]
"But... you're right. I shouldn't be letting that get to me."
[Her smile grows a little bigger as she lowers her hands and looks back at Crow.]
[Catherine]
"Thank you. I'll do my best!"
[Even with the smile and determined body language, Catherine still has a tiny hint of worriedness to her expressions, though, she's now feeling much better than how she was earlier.
Catherine is now feeling confident.]

[Denomi walks around the guild in hopes of finding something that can help his dilemma. First, he approaches the Dragonite and Slowking duo, who are looking at the boards.]
[Denomi, nervous]
"Excuse me, Catherine?"
[The duo look back and wave to the Togepi.]
[Catherine]
"Hey, Denomi. Do you want to look at the boards?"
[Denomi, nervous]
"No. I mean, it's not that, it's… well, did you have any siblings growing up?"
[Catherine]
"No. I've always been an only child."
[Sophie]
"Yeah, same here… Well, except for Ingrid, but she's a late addition. … Ahp, hold up, she wants to talk."
[Sophie turns away from everyone.]
[Catherine]
"Why do you ask?"
[Denomi]
"It's… Well, my sister's coming over, and she's bringing her friends with her, and I don't know any of them."
[Catherine]
"She didn't tell you about them?"
[Denomi]
"No. I don't want to be an embarrassment."
[Catherine looks worried.]
[Catherine]
"I… um… hm…"
[She then crosses her arms and looks down.]
[Catherine]
"I don't know what to say. I'm sorry.'
[Catherine leans in.]
[Catherine, quietly]
"Maybe you can impress them by showing… you know?"
[Catherine does a painting motion with her hands.]
[Denomi, quietly]
"No, I can't show them that."
[Catherine, quietly]
"Why not?"
[Denomi, quietly]
"I'm not ready for anyone to see those, besides you and Venus."
[Catherine]
"Then, I don't know. I'm sorry."
[Denomi]
"Thanks for trying. See you later."
[Catherine]
"Good luck when they visit."
[Catherine gives a friendly smile and a wave to Denomi before the Togepi leaves.]

(@askappos) Skye@Catherine "Hiya! What was it like being a Dragonair?" Skye asked in an eager tone. "They look really pretty and graceful, so being one must've been great!"
[Catherine sighs.]
[Catherine]
"I miss when I was a Dragonair."
[She puts her right hand up to her face as she recalls the events.]
[Catherine]
"Everyone I knew said 'Hi' to me and they looked at me with bright or gentle smiles, and sometimes they would call me 'cute'. Pokémon were happy to let me help with anything they feel like I could do. I even had a group of friends that I enjoyed spending time with, and they really liked me being with them. I really felt like I belonged with everyone. It was... almost perfect."
[Catherine lowers her right hand.]
[Catherine]
"Being a Dragonair, I couldn't help with anything that involved lifting or carrying things. The only part of my body I could carry things with was my tail, and I knew that wouldn't be enough, especially because I wanted to be a Protector."
[She pauses to calm herself before she could go on a tangent.]
[Catherine]
"Is it okay if I stop there? I don't want this to turn sour."
