What I'd Do As My Enemies Wife (Widfali AU)
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 - I'm Married To WHO?!?
Contents (Warnings): Getting caught in another universe (Shenanigans with Alexander and Lynette).
Wordcount: 2,700+
Side note: Thank you, @novorehere for being the menace that made me draw them going on a date and @aramastus for suggesting this AU idea in the first place! Love you guys! AGAIN, this is a goofy what if scenario. If you haven't read Widfali I'd recommend reading it first! That being said this is going to be much lighter and sweeter than what's been going on in the story thus far, hope you enjoy!

Lynette
I refused to remove my body from the warm, firm mattress underneath me, regardless of my slowly chilling, blanketless arms and legs.
My alarm hasn't rung yet.
I nuzzled further into the comforting heat. And in retaliation, the rest of me that didn't have contact with it burst with goosebumps. It disturbed my pleasant slumber.
I sat up, grumbled, and gathered my orientation. I was on a couch, not a bed. Oh, I fell asleep on Wicks again. I hope I didn't drool on him this time.
Groggily rubbing my eyes, I studied him. My body tensed when I saw the difference in structure. Their chest was more defined in their tight navy tank top, and their arms were adorned with muscles like cannon balls.
Most importantly, their skin wasn't the light olive my brother had either.
A yelp escaped my lips, and I panicked and scrambled back on the couch. Why is Alexander in my apartment? I didn't recognize the home I was in. Or am I in his...?!
He got up and groaned. His eyes opened, and he turned to me in confusion. "Why are you here?" Much like me, he looked over the couch and room.
The house looked neat and clean. A coffee table in front of us, as well as gaming systems and shelves of games along the undershelf below them. There was even a cat tower next to it, too.
"Is this not your new place?" I pointed to the cat tower. That wouldn't explain why I was here. Or...resting on him.
He stood up, inspecting the space and sniffing the air. "I thought this was your place, your scents everywhere." He then sniffed at his own clothes. "Why the hell do I smell like you?"
I'M NOT TELLING HIM THAT. "This isn't my place." I was also about to pull myself up, but out of nowhere, a figure appeared in front of me.
"Good, you're both awake!"
I squeaked out, and Alexander pushed himself between us. The floating girl walked backward as if the air was solid beneath her. Her navy blue hair fluttered and waved like she was underwater.
Alexander's eyes glowed when he faced her, "who are you?"
Their voice came out soft and sounded next to my ear. "Well, my name is a little hard to pronounce in English, but let's go with Ceram." The light sapphire blue being with horns whisked around the living room as she spoke, "I'm known as an observer of sorts. We are tasked with keeping the separation between universes."
"Between universes?" I muttered. Does this mean multiple universes exist?
"Yes and..." She cleared her throat, "Unfortunately for you, darlings, there was a recent teeny, itty, bitty issue with multiple beings from different universes switching places with their respective counterparts."
Alexander followed her movement. "Do you think we're stupid?"
She tilted her head and made an X with her fingers, "No, well, maybe sometimes, but not in this instance, no."
Alexander crossed his arms over his chest, "What do you mean sometimes?"
"You act like we've met before."
"We haven't." She held up a finger and grabbed a book that appeared out of thin air." I have read your files, though." Ceram slammed the book down on the coffee table, and she threw it open. When she did, a plethora of pages exploded from it. Alexander pushed back partially into me.
"Your lives are recorded in these bad boys in case of events like this."
Her smile twitched, and she shook her head. "Listen, you both are in a different universe. This one, you're both much older." She flew near Alexander and peeked back at me behind him. "Luckily, you guys haven't changed appearance-wise."
She closed the book, and all the pages that were sticking out and going off the table were sucked back in. Alexander inspected it, and her purple-eyed gaze fell on me.
"Thus, since you both have been sent to an alternate universe, you must act like your married counterparts."
"Married...I got married?!" I gasped. I haven't even gone on a proper date! I despised the memory of the only time I did go on a date and threw up on them. How did I get married?
Alexander's eyebrows furrowed, "to who?"
She looked at us, confused. Then pointed from Alexander to me.
Alexander's eyes met mine, and then, in unison, we both exclaimed and turned back to her. "WHAT!?"
WHY WOULD I EVER DATE XANDER!?! LET ALONE MARRY HIM! My stomach started to feel queasy thinking about it.
"What kind of sick joke is that? Why would I ever date a human?" Alexander protested with a perturbed growl.
Ceram threw her pink fingertips up, "Okay, okay. It's a long story in this universe." She spun the book on the table, and the cover and the title changed. "Here's the story as to how they got together-" The pages went all over the place again, and she stuffed them back inside. "How about I give you the last month of their activity? I'm sure you can piece it together from there."
I was in too much disbelief to say anything. Why Alexander?
He put his hand over the book, preventing her from reopening it. "Even if what you said was true, why do we have to play along? We need to go back to our universe."
"I'm working on it." She laid her hand on Alexander's. He pulled his back. She exhaled, "This is the first time it's happened on a wide scale, so we're having trouble figuring out how to fix it. So, we aren't sure what might happen if you don't. It could be nothing—you could tell everyone you come from another universe, and it's all dandy or," she chuckled nervously and spoke quietly. "or your universes might end up collapsing because of the mass recognition of you both being in the wrong one."
"You're fucking with us."
"No," she sighed. "I wish I was."
"We play along, or we all die?" I whimpered, how am I supposed to process this?
Ceram floated near us both, leaving the book on the table. "If it makes you feel any better, it's not only you two; there are a lot of others who were also thrown into other universes."
Alexander narrowed his eyes, "how did this even happen?"
Ceram hummed and didn't answer. "That's a very good question." She swayed back, her body moved by the book on the coffee table again. "You're both happily married, and this book should answer any questions about your lives here that you'll need."
"You didn't answer my question," Alexander said.
An infinity symbol glowed upon her forehead, "Look at the time, gotta go! I'll be back to check on you guys later!" She vanished before we could get in another word.
I studied the coffee table's edges and the book. "What just happened?"
"I don't fucking know," Alexander grumbled, our eyes met briefly. For some reason, I broke away first out of embarrassment.
This is too weird. "Do you think Ceram was lying?" I walked around the living room, studying the shelves and the games. A lot of the books and games were stuff I was interested in. I found myself surprised, seeing a photo of him. Is Alexander smiling? I had never seen him smile like that except when he held Sasha. You look a lot better when you smile. I kept the thought to myself. I didn't want to argue with him right now.
"She had so much fucking magic, I felt like I was suffocating." His eyes stopped their glow. "This place isn't created with mind manipulation. I'd like to think I'd know..." He pinched the bridge of his nose, "and I can't imagine someone gaining something from us like this."
I nodded in agreement. "Do you think it's a prank?"
"It's too elaborate," Alexander inspected the room too. He picked up one of the pictures with us in it and looked at me.
"What?"
He squinted and put it back down, "Nothing."
Fine. I walked back to the coffee table, knelt beside it, and picked up the book. "Ceram said this is about a month of us- or them together. Maybe it'll have some sort of answer?"
"Yeah," Alexander said, looking more annoyed as he checked over everything.
...
Alexander
He pinched himself when she started reading. This isn't some sort of weird ass dream.
His nose continued to pick at her scent. He smelled it no matter where he went, and his stomach growled in response.
Fuck me.
His attention, involuntarily, moved to Lynette. She was hunched over and reading. He took in another deep breath. The sweet and alluring air told his body to get closer.
He bit down on his bottom lip until it broke, and the sour, foul taste of his blood drowned out his instincts. I need to go out and get someone. He needed an excuse to escape from the house and away from the Shrimp anyway.
Alexander got ready to tell her that and stopped. I can't leave her here alone; she can't protect herself. He doubted Ceram was after either of them for any particular reason. If they had wanted her alone, they wouldn't have brought me. He rubbed his temples and paced around. None of this makes any sense unless we trust what she said.
To him, this was too crazy of a scenario to be a lie.
But why the hell would I end up with a human? His eyebrows dropped when he stared. I eat them. His frustration climbed up his throat.
"Of course, out of the billion or so humans in the world, I still end up stuck with you," Alexander said, low enough for her to hear.
She didn't lift her eyes from the page. "You invited me."
"I did," He stood across from her and attempted to read the page she was on. "If you were like any other human, I wouldn't have."
She raised her bashful gaze, "At least one of us isn't upset you invited me. The money's great." She spoke under her breath, " I just don't understand why some of you are jerks."
Alexander scoffed, and a slightly bothered smile showed. "You're the one that gets yourself in most of those scenarios."
"I do not!"
"You're a human. You shouldn't be getting involved or close to monsters anyway."
"And technically, my family is too, in some way, shape, or form, and they're nice! So is Viola, Tila, Elliot, June, Zane's a little weird, Drake-"
Alexander laughed, "Drake?"
Her lip pushed out in a pout, "WAY nicer than you."
"What have I done to you?"
She brought her hands up and balled her fists. She swung them around a little, then slammed them down as gently as she could, "Plenty! You chase me around, threaten to eat me constantly, you also practically..." she shivered. "Drooling every time you look at me, and you always look so annoyed with me-" she pointed at his face. "Like right now!"
Alexander turned his head to the side. It's not my fault. "I'm hungry—what do you expect."
"I can't even have a normal conversation with you!"
"That's the way my fucked up body is," Alexander pulled back, his mouth tightened, and he pressed his teeth together. "I-" A single letter left him before his mouth refused to continue.
He changed his response as he usually did.
"You're what I eat. I'm a fucking half Wendigo. I'm hungry all the damn time. Yeah, sure, it's better now than before, but it's still in my fucking head." Alexander replied. "If you don't like it, don't talk to me."
Lynette lowered her brows, and her eyes clung to him. He could see the sympathy he'd only ever received from his family.
He broke their eye contact, "Tell me if the book says anything important, I'm going to keep looking around."
Alexander walked away from her, checking over every little thing he could. The kitchen, laundry room, closets, dining room, and now he was moving upstairs too.
Everything seems normal. He walked into the massive master bedroom. His eyes squinted over it. He noticed the Wakizashi sword near the bed. He smiled. One of Drake's nerd gifts.
He realized it only helped prove that this alternate universe self had at least some similarities to him, or if this was a setup somehow, they did their homework.
He next moved to the dresser in front of the bed, near what he figured was the master bathroom. He searched through the top drawers; they were things he'd wear. He continued to go through each one and raised a brow conspicuously.
"What the hell is this?" He took out what he thought was a crop top and held it in front of his face. His eyes fell to the two prominent mound-like shapes protruding outward.
When it clicked, Alexander freaked out and dropped it immediately. He faced away, and his cheeks burned.
His mind steadily wandered to the one accursedly embarrassing time at the Halloween party.
SHUT UP, BRAIN. He quickly picked it up, threw it in the drawer, and slammed it shut. He exhaled hard, letting go of relief and annoyance simultaneously.
Alexander stumbled back and sat on the bed. "Why would I even be with Lynette?" He inhaled and groused curses under his breath. His body focused on her damn scent again. He pulled his navy tank top to his nose again. Why do I smell so much like her? His mouth filled with saliva. It's like she rubbed herself all over me.
His empty abdomen groaned louder, and he clenched it. A low growl left his vocals.
He pushed off the bed. Fuck it, we're getting out of this damn house, and I'm going to eat. He'd imagine she'd complain about him eating someone, but he lost all his will to care.
He marched out of the room and heard her shriek from below. Without a second thought, his body propelled him forward, and he ran to the balcony. He grabbed the railing, threw his body off, and landed with a giant THUD against the hardwood floor. He flicked up and assessed Lynette. No one was around her, nor did she look hurt besides her deep red-tinted face.
"What?" He asked as her lip quivered.
"I-I f-found a part of the book that's uh-has, well-" she stumbled over her words.
Why is she acting so flustered? What did she read between the other us... He could feel the burning redness on his face returning, too, "S-sex?"
Lynette squeaked, "N-NOO!" She voice weakly exclaimed, "worse!"
Alexander couldn't respond. His jaw hung slightly open in disbelief. His thoughts created figments of things that could be worse and fit the same bright red mortification she wore. WHAT KIND OF FREAKS ARE THEY?! "WHAT COULD BE WORSE?!"
She dragged the book closer to her body and refused to show him. "D-don't worry about it."
"Oh hell no, this isn't some journal situation. You're showing me." He leaned over the table to grab it.
She got up from the floor and stumbled back toward the kitchen. "No, if you read it, you'll say something about it!"
"I don't care, Shrimp. If I'm involved, I deserve to know whatever the fuck worse is." Alexander wasn't going to leave his curiosity unanswered.
He grabbed her wrist and brought her close enough for his other hand to steal the book. He turned his back to her and held it high so she couldn't reach it.
"XANDER!"
He opened it to about the middle.
"H-hey! I didn't read that far!" She complained, and he was going to start here anyway.
"Alright! Xander. I'll tell you where just- don't say anything about it."
He skeptically peered at the short girl and dropped it on the coffee table. He didn't say yes to her terms, but she searched the book to find the exact page anyway.
"Here."
He prepared to read the worst. Nothing so far. He soon got to the end of the page, read what he believed she meant, flicked back at her and, in flabbergasted frustration, yelled, "YOU THINK LETTING ME EAT YOU WILLINGLY IS WORSE?!"
...
Thank you for reading, GOOBERS! :D

What I'd Do As My Enemies Wife (Widfali AU)

Wordcount: 2,200+

_____________________________________________
Drake
"You're punctual today," he commented, walking down the long stretch of the hall toward Lynette. Normally, Drake would beat the second shift here on days his dad wanted to give him the 'game plan.' Today, his dad wasn't here, though.
"O-oh, yeah. I drove here a little early."
Did she have another fight with Wicks? He questioned, then decided not to ask.
Instead, he concentrated on her tempting beats and quickly noticed the sound was off.
It was Lynette's heart, but it thumped differently. Usually, when he neared, she'd be skittish, sometimes shy. Currently, she was anxious, as if she had something to hide from him and didn't want him to figure it out.
"Are you alright?"
Her heart rate is increasing. Drake noted.
"As alright as I can be here," she smiled at Drake—something was wrong.
"Did you do something I'm gonna get mad at you about?"
Again, her heart rate spiked, and her chuckle was beyond nervous and highly sheepish. What is she not saying?
"What d-do you mean, Drake?"
Before he could dispatch his own investigation, Alexander's familiar heart rang in his ears.
"Yo, Drake, and...shrimp."
What?
Drake's attention was pulled to his best friend, whose heart wasn't going crazy with hunger when approaching them as usual.
He probably ate before work; Lev is here today, after all. Drake concluded.
Then, Lev strolled his way over in his pompous fashion, near the group gathered at the time clock. And much like Drake, Lev looked at them weirdly.
Did he pick up something too? Lev moved closer to Lynette. She didn't scramble in the opposite direction. She stayed there, unbothered, for a few seconds more.
"Lost in thought," Lev asked.
Lynette shook her head, lips closed and then ran to the time clock scanning the badge at her shirt. She missed the first swipe once, then barely got the second. Alexander, weirdly followed without a word too.
They left Lev and him in the plain big halls.
"He didn't look like the same hungry idiot he normally is today."
Drake rolled his eyes, "Don't call him an idiot." He then lifted his badge by the scanner and stopped. I'm not going to ask Lawless.
"Aren't you scanning in to, Drake? Or is there something you wanted to tell me.~"
You bastard. Drake grumbled in his head. He threw down his hand on the time clock and turned to Lev. "DO you know what's going on with Lynette?"
Lev raised a brow, "What do you mean?"
He could just feel the antagonism in Lev's smile.
Should I even tell him?
Drake sighed and fixed is bangs over his face. "She's acting weird. They both kinda are. Lynette's heart is beating differently, and Alexander seemed, I don't know, jealous of you getting near her or like he wanted to stop you." Drake rubbed his temples. "Sure, he would stop you normally if you're being, well, you, but it's weird."
Lev grinned and teetered to Drake, "Maybe something happened between them then."
"Yeah, right."
Lev patted Drake's head like he was a child. I'll end you. "I'll investigate Lynette then, and you do, Wendie. Sound fun?"
With a lack of enthusiasm, Drake said, "I guess."
Lev
Our first ever ceasefire. Lev found the idea slightly laughable. It was the first time he ever worked with Drake outside of work orders.
Unlike teasing Alexander, he knew he could set off Drake rather quickly. And no matter how much fun it'd be, he still kept his distance. Drake wasn't someone he cared much about.
He'd be too predictable.
Lev's attention drifted to the short redhead beside him. Not that you're unpredictable. The underkin felt confident he could predict her reactions to anything he said or did.
Yet, she had a charm about her that wasn't just due to her rarity. Lev found her useless persistence endearing and her hopefulness in them laughable. He couldn't fathom things ever changing. Unless it was Lynette finally snapping.
Lev couldn't wait for that.
He returned from his thoughts to the short girl once again. He inspected her shoes; the size was the same, and her ponytail was still well-kept between the hole in the back of her cap. And her phone still created a groove in her back pocket.
Even her little mannerisms are the same. She softly drummed on the edge of the counters with her pointer fingers when she waited for customers. Re-tighten her hair when she moved up and down to check on the supplies below. As well as when she'd move to the area behind them to overlook extra dipping sauces, condiments, napkins, and so forth.
But you're not the real Lynette, are you?
There was a difference in the way she looked at him. She was almost unbothered by his presence, calmer than he had ever seen her working at the pizzeria.
He faced forward as she cleaned her side and leaned near her. They had an hour left until lunch. "Hey, Lynette~."
He stole her attention.
The surprise sputtered out in a croak. "Y-yeah?"
He checked over her face briefly. It wasn't the same nervousness he was looking for.
"You're not cheating on me, are you?" Lev jokingly said.
He had to say something big to spur a flustered response. It worked, albeit differently from how he assumed. He expected denial with confidence, which is not what he received.
"Cheating! We-were not dating?"
Lev said it as a mock toward the fact that she was giving Alexander more attention than himself, but the questionable way she answered sweetened the nectar Lev got from it.
Why are you so unsure? She had his full attention and wouldn't be able to pry it away.
He played with the reply in his mouth before finally letting it go. "Are you saying that confession I gave you last week meant nothing?"
There was no confession. Lev only told her last week that he admired her misplaced tenacity.
Her face read panic. She looked like she was searching for something in her mind, an answer that wasn't there.
Who he thought of as the imposter Lynette spoke out, "I-I'm n-not dating you!" She held no faith in her statement. He took a step closer. "I know you'd never date a human. Y-you live forever and-"
He put a finger to her lips, stopping her. She pushed from him and banged her back into the giant machine to hold pick-up pizza's for customers.
"Shh, I don't like hearing my precious little treasure belittling herself like that." His yellow temperance took in every contour of her face. He conjured the mental flames to impede her escape.
"According to the rules, an employee can't date another employee..."
True. Lev didn't let that take away his fun, "Are you saying you want to break up with me right after you said you loved me yesterday?"
Yesterday, she did say she loved it when he ignored her.
Lynette lost all her fight. She had nothing to say, and he drew back from her to admire it. You really believe we're dating, don't you? So you're just playing along, too, but why?
Her hesitance turned to pity. She didn't want to tell him no.
"I'm sorry," she couldn't look him in the eyes. "I don't know what came over me. I had a rough morning." She turned back to face forward at the counter.
How do I want to play this? Call her out on her lie? Lev fiddled with the idea like it was clay. He could make it worse. After all, she didn't want what he said. There's someone else she clearly wants more.
A family started to approach the counter, and Lev sweetly whispered.
"We can discuss more at Lunch, after you let me win the game today, that is~."
He thrived off the tenseness that filled her shoulders and the silent nod she gave. I can't wait to discover why you replaced our sweet ole Lynette.
...
Drake
The front got overwhelmingly swamped as it was Superbowl weekend. So, that left him and Alexander alone in the breakroom.
He watched his best friend, who was enamored by his phone. Similar to him and Lynette both during their first break earlier.
Is he texting her? Drake refused to believe that. What the hell is going on with them.
He restrained his slight annoyance. He wouldn't leave me out of the loop, not again. It was clear Drake didn't believe that HIS best friend ignored him.
Drake attempted to remain civil first. "What are you up to?"
Alexander waved it off, "Nothing."
He's anxious. Drake didn't want to play a guessing game, so he immediately threw his thoughts out. "What happened with you and Lynette last night?"
Alexander froze up in his seat. The usual annoyance resting on his face fled. It was replaced with uncertainty. "What are you talking about."
He could hear Alexander's heart going crazy. Drake threw himself forward in his seat to the male who refused to look at him, "YOU WERE WITH HER LAST NIGHT?!"
The blonde sharply turned to face Drake. "Why would I want to be in the same room as her all night."
Drake pointed to himself, "You tell me, I can hear your nervous as hell, dumbass!"
Alexander pushed out of his chair and stood up, "what did I say about listening to my heart!" They were gradually getting louder.
"STOP AVOIDING MY QUESTION!"
Drake threw himself from his chair, too. His own core continued to pluck at the harp of jealousy. Why is he telling her things and not me?!
"I WOULDN'T hang out with Lynette outside of work unless I have to!" Alexander growled.
Drake's lips shut. It almost wasn't recognizable. This...no...that was the first time Drake got that tune from Alexander. He had technically known him for most of his life, talked to him for less than that, but even then, Alexander had not once lied to Drake.
And now he did.
"You," Drake marched at him, "LIAR!" His nostrils flared.
His best friend's face looked red, a mixture of embarrassment from being caught, and his next sentence came out in a stutter. "Y-your e-ears are fucking wr-wrong!"
"MY EARS ARE FINE!" Drake's stomach tightened in bitterness. What is he talking to her about? Why is it so bad that he's lying to me about it? "What have you been doing with her!?"
And that somewhat calmed, strained question pushed Drake to a rejected conclusion. There's no way.
"You-DID you kiss her or something?!"
Alexander couldn't say anything—the only thing that left his mouth was an incoherent, heavy breath. His internal engine told Drake everything. The shock made Drake fall silent. He was in utter disbelief. Yesterday they were fighting, now there-
Drake couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed Alexander by the collar, but the other two disrupted them before he could yell.
"Hey, my girlfriend and I are ready to play today's game.~" Lev tweeted.
Drake let go of Alexander and turned in utter confusion to Lev and Lynette. "Huh?!"
What the hell is going on!!!
The possessiveness drummed from in Alexander's chest. "Girlfriend?" His eyes didn't go to Lynette at all. They were fixated on Lev.
...
Lev
Alexander's gaze moved with Lev. It only furthered his suspicions and made his little game better.
Lev threw his arm over Lynette, and she jumped and tried to escape. He pulled her nice and close. "You still haven't let that go, huh, Wendie?" He teased, closing the distance between them. Drake and Alexander were more toward the center by the door of the giant break room.
"I know you want her all to yourself, but she made her choice, right?~" He moved near her ear to softly blow into it. "Lynette.~"
He felt her shake her head once, and she definitely looked at Alexander with pleading eyes because he turned to her instead of Lev. Is Wendie scared? What can't they say?
"We shouldn't do this," Lynette pushed at his arm.
Lev then wrapped his other around her waist and hugged her into his body. He bent in, staring at Alexander as he did so, and shut his eyes. He took in her scent. Just as alluring as always.
Alexander's body was shaking.
"Lev!" She protested.
He didn't flinch. "Why are you fighting me so much today? It's almost like you're a different person."
Alexander's expression flicked to worry, and her struggle stopped.
"Is there something you want to tell me? How about you do it where we could be all alone? Trapped with only each other's company." Lev spoke over her head, "Or more so, you trapped inside me~."
They were both in earshot, Drake was disgusted, and Alexander stepped forward.
"We're playing a game," Wendie said.
Lev chuckled, "There's no point. It's her day, and I know my precious little treasure would never let anyone, but I eat her. Isn't that right."
And then, there it was. She fought Lev's grip harder. "Let me go, Lev, I can't do this!"
Alexander shook his head, and immediate alarm rose in his eyes. "H-hey, Lynette, d-don't!" He tried to reach Lev and her.
Lev pulled out of the way, barely dodging with her.
"I can't lie like this! I only love you, Alenxander!"
His fight stopped, and Lev let her go. Alexander's eyes softened, flooded with relief and also panic. She grabbed his hand and turned to Lev, holding the same anxiety Alexander did.
"I'm sorry, I can't pretend to be with anyone else." She squeezed his hand tighter and looked back at Alexander. "I don't want to be with anyone else."
Lev wouldn't let anything show except his snicker. "We were never really dating. I played along because you questioned it." He admitted, he tugged Drake to him. The vampire beast growled and didn't get the chance to fight. Lev talked over him. "And I don't think it took a day for you two to change your hearts and fall in love with one another, did it?"
Neither said a word, not that they needed to.
"Out with it then," Lev pointed from himself and to Drake. "Tell us who you two really are."

AGAIN, this is a goofy what if scenario. If you haven't read Widfali I'd recommend reading it first! That being said this is going to be much lighter and sweeter than what's been going on in the story thus far, hope you enjoy!

Alexander
He dropped the book onto the table and swiftly grabbed her upper arms. His hands firmly held her, and he succumbed to the compulsion to lightly shake her.
He vividly pictured scenes he never wished to conjure because she said it was worse.
"YOU-" He thought of all the names he could say: moron, idiot, little shit, but none of them conveyed his embarrassment or relieved frustration.
He stopped shaking her and continued when she faced him. "Why the fuck were you even trying to hide that from me? Do you think I'd care whether the other you was willing?"
"Because we-" Lynette abruptly shut her mouth and averted her gaze.
His head sank further in his hunched shoulders. "What?" He followed her leer that didn’t face him, which watched their reflections in the flat screen T.V. Once she noticed he looked there too, she closed her eyes. "We what, shrimp?" His emotions slowly settled at the bottom near his soles, and his hunger rose again like a devil on his shoulder.
It whispered its woes about his inanition.
His fingers locked onto her tighter. Fuck, no. Focus. Alexander tried to deafen any other feeling except his original question. What happened today? He ran over the events and, through his easy, jumpy awkwardness, landed on their discussion with Ceram.
"You must act as your married counterparts."
His mind finally flicked on its light bulb. A mischievous curl broke into his grin—a look he hadn't shown her in a long time. "Ooooh."
Lynette turned back to him. A mewl scampered from her vocals, "Xander," she shook her head and tried to pull away. "You said you wouldn't say anything about it!"
"I didn't say yes to that," Alexander unknowingly leaned in closer, "Now, Ceram did say we have to act like our counterparts, didn't she?"
His tease toward her backfired. The possibility of Lynette saying yes heightened the thrill of his near-rapacious appetite, which he tried and failed to impulsively quell.
"Ah! No way! I'm not agreeing to that!"
It knocked him from his delusion, and he realized how close he had her. Their faces were so close that he felt her warm breath brush his lips. His thoughts entirely dispersed like cockroaches in light when he saw the fret in her green orbs.
Alexander's hands loosened enough for her to escape.
He had the reflex to grab her but didn't. He tore his eyes to look elsewhere, not at the television as it outlined her short form. He stared at the seams of the white couch as if he could accurately count every stitch.
"You're insane," he said, throwing up his arms, like he argued with the leather and not her, "who in the hell thinks that is worse than being willing."
“I do."
Alexander did a double take. His wide eyes looked at her again in disbelief. "ARE YOU SAYING YOU'D PREFER THE OTHER THING?!"
She frantically covered her face as it flared with so much heat that Alexander swore he saw steam. Then, she turned her body and looked like she was about to be sick.
It'd be an insult to most people, but Alexander expected it. He knew he wasn't sought after nor ever would be. That's how it always was.
Her gags at least took his mind off his cravings. "Do you need a bag or something?" His sight moved from her to the kitchen in the next room. He took a few steps in that direction, and she threw her hands from her face and wrapped her fingers around his arm.
It was brief but stopped him nonetheless. "I-I didn't mean that to be rude." She pulled her hands back and made space between them. Her left foot touched the front of the armchair. "I just-" He partially looked back at her with a confused eyebrow raise. What?
She softly met his stormy eyes. "I get queasy thinking of dates or relationship stuff with people I'm not comfortable with." She began to tug at her curls.
"People scare you that much?" Alexander asked.
She shyly looked away, "I don't know why." She slouched, and let out her timid, lack of confidence response, "I don't mean to do that, nor throw up. Not that I always throw up! I've only thrown up once," she grumbled under her breath, "no, twice."
"Because you dated someone?"
Alexander found himself intrigued. I knew she was an oddity, but throwing up? He didn’t understand why.
Lynette collected her hair then moved it in front of her face. "W-well, I, there was this," she chuckled, "a guy, he uh, you know, uh, we went-"
Alexander sped it up, "On a date?"
She nodded, patted the sides of her cheeks., took a deep breath, and explained. "I was so nervous on my first date I threw up on the guy when he got close, then when he said it was fine and wanted to continue the date back at his place, I threw up again."
She left him speechless. He thought about every time he came in close contact with her. Hell, he could have received a face full of vomit holding her earlier. So if I pick her up next time, just fucking eat her.
Lynette fell back on the armchair with a huff and wrapped her arms over her chest. She sank further into the chair's comfort to attempt to suffocate her humiliation.
"Does it happen often?"
"NO!" The redhead slammed her hands on the leather armrests. "It's when people that I don’t know take an interest in me. I don't find them repulsive or anything like that," She clarified. "I just don’t like them that way.” She let her hands fall back into her lap. “I haven't really liked anyone that way before."
Alexander answered without a pause, "I guess not liking someone is something we have in common.."
She sat up in the armchair. Her feet didn’t quite touch the ground. She stared at Alexander questionably.
He bit his lips, let it roll past his teeth, and back into place. "I didn't like Mara in the beginning. I didn't even know her. Sure, she was good-looking, but she convinced me to like her,” he faintly smiled, though it wasn’t happy. “and it wasn't even…real." Alexander didn't like hearing what he said aloud. Why did I say that? He never talked about it with anyone, not even Drake.
All the other words he had left to say retreated back like they were marionettes told to leave the stage. His eyes staggered to meet Lynette.
"I-"
He quickly and abruptly interrupted her. "I gotta eat, so unless your next words are you offering yourself, we're going." He grabbed her wrist, a usual mistake, but his mind was too preoccupied to act upon it.
"Going where?" Lynette asked and followed up with a slight bounce when she realized it. "I'm not going to watch you eat someone again!"
She uselessly tried to cling to the armchair as he pulled her along. He got her up.
"Again?" Alexander questioned as she squeaked in retaliation. He steered her from hitting the coffee table or couch.
"At the festival," her hand tried to pry his fingers off her wrist, "you dragged me along just like this, remember!"
Alexander pulled her near the front door and by the staircase. He only remembered a little of the festival besides the small snippet of events and their talks. He rarely remembered the people he ate besides her. He did eat her often enough.
"Don't watch then, weirdo." Alexander groaned. He got the knob with his other hand, "You don’t have a choice. I don't want you far away from me if something happens."
"Like what? A burglar breaking in?"
Alexander threw open the door. The cold, stale wind whisked over him and helped rid the air of her scent.
He lugged her along. "You always get into some kind of trouble, and since you want to make this difficult and say I can't eat you, you're coming."
Lynette grabbed the outer door rim, "I'm not going to agree because I don't want to spend most of my day inside you, NOR do I wanna watch you eat someone. It's gross!"
I know you won't. Alexander said in his head with attitude, "You're coming then."
"No, I'm not!" Lynette clung tighter to the grooves of the house's door rim.
He had let her wrist go and grabbed her by the waist to pull her off. If anyone were to pass by their house at the moment, he'd look insane trying to drag her out.
Her fighting worked up his edacity. He plucked her off, and she squealed. "No, no, Xander, quit it!"
Lynette’s soft disapproval finally extinguished the fire—he couldn't keep arguing with her. "Fine!"
He put her down, faced her, and his voice left in a snarl, "Call me if anything goes wrong, seems out of place, or odd." He moved toward her, so she reentered the doorway and the house. He grabbed the handle of the door. "Do not answer the door or go outside. If I don't come back in forty minutes, call me. If I don't answer, hide. If someone breaks in, hide." Alexander thought more about the different scenarios that could happen, and he charged the magic in his core.
His eyes gently glowed as he 'wrote' the protective seal of a cloak over her body with his gaze alone. It was to make sure she'd be safe.
"I will," Lynette seemed to recognize the feeling of its light weight all around her, "and thank you."
Alexander nodded, "Mhm." He glanced near the door to a few hooks and grabbed the first pair of keys that looked like his. "I'll be back." He shut the door and put his key to the lock but heard her lock it behind him.
He turned back, facing the streets—her scent still lingered on him. The clear air with hints of other scents relaxed him. He preferred that over being smothered in the house with hers alone.
He grumbled, thinking about it as he walked the streets of several other houses. The fine neighborhood did nothing to lower his tolerance for Lynette. It still annoyed him that her taste was so strong, pleasing, and that he couldn't even have her. She had to stay at the pizzeria.
He finally reached the city outskirts and debated on his next target. He had to find someone alone and someone who didn't look to be in any particular rush. It took him ten more minutes to find a suitable prey.
He waited for his prey to pass the older couple so he could throw a barrier down, but he never got the chance. His eyes glowed briefly and simmered down when his phone started to ring. He got it from his pocket, expecting it to be Lynette.
He lifted it up to answer and narrowed in on the name. Why the hell is Wicks calling me?
