St. George Protect Us
An extremely interesting red wine–perhaps the first 100% I have had on the blog–pulling sharp contrasts across the palate and not easy to pigeon-hole. Deep glowing dark purple, the edge gradually thinning to bright pink. BBQ-meaty and dense in the nose, vibrant sake-ish round texture flush with crisp berry–plum and green pear–not particularly effusive, with a distinct ripeness lurking. Crazy…

So today I kinda wanted to slap my social awkwardness in the face because I was literally sitting next to SPG in the Old Tucson saloon and I didn't say hi. Like seriously, I couldn't figure out how to just say hi, or that I think they're amazing, or that they inspire me to be a happier/better person, and that they have had a HUGE positive influence on my life. I mean, they looked tired and I didn't want to bug them but still... why am I so awkward?

Red Saturation
This is a fun, juicy, fairly simple wine–as it SHOULD BE–and I have been a long fan of inexpensive house blends. No indication of blend on the label, but judging by color, I’d say Grenache and Tempranillo… or maybe Sangiovese. Probably a *mop the floor* blend of barrel- and tank-overruns: an obvious WIN for the cellar AND the consumer–feeling quite Iberian. I had to check the label, and it is…

I love you...
... Bunny, David, Sam, Michael, Matt, Steve and everyone else involved with Steam Powered Giraffe. You all are hard-working, talented, funny- heck, you're all just awesome, okay? This may seem cliche, but I swear God must have given you all an extra dose of awesome sauce when he made you. I am so happy you guys chose to create Steam Powered Giraffe and are simply yourselves in a world that is always changing and trying to conform others to a certain way of living. I just felt like saying this, even though you guys probably hear this all the time. Thank you for being, living, creating, inspiring, and for everything you do for us fans. Cannot wait to see what the future holds for you all and looking forward to the day when I get to meet you guys again. Thank you.
