What Is Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate in Shampoo Doing to Your Hair?
You may have experienced the foaming action of shampoo when massaging it into the scalp while shampooing your hair. Have you ever pondered that phenomenon's causes? Chemicals like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), as well as Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), deserve credit for this. When shampoos are combined with water, they release a cloud of cleansing bubbles. Most shower gel as well as body care items contain these synthetic chemicals. So, how exactly do sulphates in hair care products damage your hair? High levels of sulphates are considered to be harmful to hair because they dissolve hair proteins as well as natural oils. But using sulphates in smaller amounts won't do any harm. You can read more about sulphates present in shampoo in this blog penned down by Palvi Chemicals - an excellent Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate supplier in USA.
Sulfates:
Sulfates are a common ingredient in personal care products such as shampoos, body washes, and facial cleansers. When used in shampoos, they help break down the surface tension between the shampoo and your skin, making it easier for the shampoo to remove oil, debris, and dead skin.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS):
SLS has been deemed safe to use by experts as well as others but has also been identified as a skin irritant when left on the skin for long periods.
Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) is a multipurpose chemical used in the cosmetics industry. Common side effects of SLS use include redness, dryness, and irritation. They don't always wash off completely and can disrupt the skin's natural protein. In reality, SLS eliminates the skin's natural benefits, which can cause irritation and inflammation. Allergic reactions to SLSs have been reported in rare instances.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES):
Sodium Laureth Sulfate, like sodium lauryl sulphate, is a surface-active ingredient that, when combined with water, produces a dense, luxurious foam. By ethoxylation, SLS is transformed into SLES. Here, a chemical method is used to introduce ethylene oxide and aid in the transformation of the molecule. If you are looking for a trusted Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate Distributor in USA, Palvi Chemicals is the best place for you.
Ethoxylation makes SLES milder on the skin, so it may be used in products like body wash without worrying about damaging your skin or stripping its natural oils. As an alternative to SLS, SLES is used in the vast majority of shampoos today. According to Gaskins, SLES is a better alternative to SLS because it doesn't cause irritation or dry up the skin as much as SLS does. This is why SLES is widely utilised in hair care products for those with sensitive scalps or skin.
Oil and water don't mix well, however, the SLES in hair products make it so that the contents are distributed evenly through the strands. It aids in the washing away of dirt and oil from the scalp and skin, and in the distributing of hair care products by the hands. To be more specific, it is attracted to and removes sebum and other naturally occurring oils from the skin. For this reason, most shampoos and conditioners utilise sodium Laureth sulphate rather than sodium laurel sulphate because it is less harsh on people with sensitive skin as well as less prone to irritate the scalp.
Risks of using SLES:
Shampoos with a lot of sodium lauryl sulphate or sodium Laureth sulphate in them can aggravate existing skin issues and even trigger allergic reactions in some people. If you have skin problems, you should avoid sulphates because they can make your situation worse.
 ●     Skin rash
 ●     Hives
 ●     Itchiness
 ●     Redness
 ●     Inflammation or Swelling
Petroleum-based sulphates are blamed for contributing to global warming and other pollution issues. From a health perspective, SLES as well as SLS can cause skin and eye irritation. Additionally, 1,4-dioxane impurities, which have been associated to cancer, may be present in SLES, despite the fact that they are not often disclosed on ingredient labels. In addition, studies have linked the use of palm oil to ongoing environmental damage and have shown that ethylene oxide can cause cancer and other systemic harm. Although SLES has been largely disproven as a carcinogen, the environmental impacts of palm oil as well as petroleum cannot be ignored.
Are you looking to place a bulk order for SLES? Palvi Chemicals is the most trustworthy Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate exporter in Ecuador that can fulfil all of your SLES requirements.
The controversy surrounding palm oil is due to the fact that palm tree operations frequently necessitate the destruction of vital tropical rainforests. Now, let's say you're interested in using only the purest, most compassionate products because you follow a vegan diet. If so, you should know that sulphate shampoo formulae are frequently tested on animals to determine the severity of the effect the product may have on our hair, skin, eyes, and lungs. Consequently, it is always a good idea to verify the ingredient list prior to purchase.
Shampoo consisting of various Sulphates:
As one of the first components listed, sulphates are easy to spot in cosmetics and toiletries. To name a few examples of the sulphates typically found in shampoos:
 ●     Sodium Lauryl Sulphate Sodium
●     Lauryl Sulfoacetate Sodium
●     Sodium Lauroyl Taurate
●     Laureth Sulphate Sodium
●     Lauroyl Isethionate
How bad are Sulphates for Hair?
SLES and SLS are two types of sulphates that are widely used in hair care products because they are believed to effectively remove debris and oil from the hair. However, they can cause negative effects on some people. Some reasons for expanding our explanation are as follows.
● Some people may get allergic reactions or sensitivities if they use sulphates on their hair or skin.
●   Sulfates can deplete your hair of its natural oils, leaving it dry and brittle.
●   Furthermore, they can cause dryness and irritation to the scalp.
● You could be putting your health at risk if you continue to use sulfate-containing shampoos despite seeing negative effects on your hair and skin.
These explanations should clear up any confusion about what effect sulphate has on hair and why it's detrimental to the hair's health. Any shampoo that comprises SLES and SLS manufactured and supplied by a distinct Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate Exporter in USA can be used on hair, but only in very small amounts.

Different Amino Acid-Based Surfactants in Use Today
Surfactants are famous for their ability to form fine lather because of their wonderful detergency and emulsifying properties. The amino acid-based surfactants have high biodegradability, excellent surface-active properties, and low toxicity. They tolerate hard water well and are mild on the eyes and skin. Being environmentally friendly, they don't pose any threat to the ecosystem. These are milder than the corresponding carboxylates and sulfates.
Evolution of the Cleaning Products
Soaps are salts of fatty acids and came into use in the personal cleansing segment in the early 1900s. In the 1950s, a syndet surfactant got introduced as personal cleansing bars. During the 1990s, liquid cleansing technology came into the limelight. These body washes and shower gels use a combination of sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), an amphoteric surfactant such as Cocamidopropyl betaine, and an anionic surfactant. In amine oxide based surfactants, amino acids form the natural building block for the surfactants.
Using Facial Cleansers and Toothpastes
Ajinomoto pioneered the synthesis of amino acid-based surfactants in the 1970s. Acyl sarcosinate was the first such surfactant used in toothpaste. After this, acyl glutamates became popular for their application in transparent soap bars and facial cleaning. Acyl glycinate found favor with the manufacturers for their lather properties and mildness. Other than glutamates, sarcosinates, and glycinates, we have other amino acid head groups such as taurates and alaninates.
Improvement in the Quality Levels
You can contact your surfactant chemical supplier to get more information on this matter. Technically, taurates do not belong to the amino acid group. But because they have similar properties and taurine is an amino-sulfonic acid, they get grouped in the same category.
Customer-centric solutions from prominent manufacturers have enhanced the quality of the cleaning products in use today. We can use the surfactants as emulsifiers and as preservatives. Your surfactant chemical supplier will tell you how to do this. Biosurfactants in use today are naturally occurring substances.

Lukewarm Facewash Vs Soap - Which is more effective for skin cleansing?
When it comes to cleansing the face, it can be difficult to choose between face wash and soap. Both products serve the same purpose of removing dirt, oil, and makeup from the skin, but they differ in terms of their ingredients and effectiveness. So, which one is the best way to cleanse your face? Let’s take a closer look at face wash and soap to help you make an informed decision.
Tumblr media
Lukewarm Face wash effectively brightens the skin and improves its elasticity while maintaining the natural moisture barrier. This exceptionally gentle cleanser revitalizes the skin's appearance, leaving it looking radiant, refreshed, and healthily glowing. It contains ingredients like Glutathione, Kojic Acid, Lactic Acid and Vitamin C, which hydrate and nourish the skin while removing impurities. Lukewarm Facewash is gentle enough to use on all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Soap, on the other hand, is a solid bar that is designed to cleanse the entire body. It typically contains harsh ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium lauryl ether sulfate, which can strip the skin of its natural oils and lead to dryness and irritation. Some bar soaps also contain fragrances and dyes, which can be irritating to sensitive skin.
When choosing a face wash, consider the following factors :
1. Skin type: Different skin types (e.g. oily, dry, sensitive) require different types of face washes. Choose a face wash that is specifically formulated for your skin type.
2. Skin concerns: If you have specific skin concerns, such as acne or aging, look for face washes that target those concerns.
3. Ingredients: Read the label to make sure the face wash contains ingredients that will benefit your skin. Avoid ingredients that may cause irritation, such as alcohol or fragrances.
4. Brand reputation: Choose a brand with a good reputation and positive reviews from other customers.
5. Price: Face washes can range in price from inexpensive to high-end. Consider your budget and whether you are willing to spend more for a higher-quality product.
Ultimately, it is important to choose a face wash that is gentle and effective for your skin, and that you enjoy using as part of your daily routine.
When it comes to cleansing the face, it’s best to opt for a gentle face wash like Lukewarm Face Wash rather than soap. This is because face wash is designed to cleanse the delicate skin of the face without stripping it of its natural oils. Soap, on the other hand, can be too harsh for the face and can lead to dryness and irritation.
Overall, Lukewarm Glutathione Face Wash is easy to use and effective for removing dirt, dust, and excess oil from the skin. Because there are no harsh chemicals in the formula, it can be used daily without drying out the skin.
In conclusion, face wash is a better alternative for cleansing the face even if soap and face wash both remove dirt and impurities from the skin. All skin types, especially sensitive skin, can use it because of its gentleness and the nutrients it contains, which nourish and hydrate the skin. For healthy, glowing skin, always use a face wash that is suitable for your skin type and wash your face twice daily.

ORAL HEALTH: USE PEPPERMINT (MINT) FOR KEEPING YOUR TEETH AND GUMS STRONG
Your mouth is actually one of the most absorbent places in your entire body. This is why some medications are administered sublingually, or under your tongue.
When you brush your teeth or use a mouthwash, a certain amount of what is in the toothpaste or mouthwash goes right into your bloodstream through your gums and salivary glands. So, here's manufacturer of menthol crystals in India brings you with everything you need to know about how peppermint makes for an amazing aid for your oral health.
Many of the more popular commercial brands of toothpaste contain chemicals and ingredients that you really don't want in your system, such as triclosan, which has been linked to antibiotic resistance development as well as endocrine disruption.
This is why you might want to be a bit more choosey about what dental products you use and seriously consider some natural oral health options instead.
Fluoride, although heavily promoted as the way to prevent cavities, is a toxic chemical that accumulates in your tissues and has been clearly linked with neurological and endocrine dysfunction, including thyroid dysfunction.
And there are other ways to strengthen your teeth than fluoride, such as adding a source of minerals and trace minerals into your homemade toothpaste (such as bentonite clay or liquid mineral complex — see recipe below).
Another such chemical is sodium laureth sulfate (SLS), or sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES). SLS is registered as an insecticide and may have toxic effects. Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners are often added to commercial toothpastes.
Propylene glycol, the industrial grade form, is used in antifreeze, paints, enamels, and airplane de-icers. The pharmaceutical-grade form is used in a lot of personal care products, including toothpaste.
Research on the safety of propylene glycol in personal care products is lacking, although it is a known skin, eye and lung irritant and may cause organ toxicity.
DEA is found in many foaming products such as toothpaste and is another known hormone. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) ranks DEA as a number 10 in its cosmetics database (the most toxic score) due to high concerns of organ toxicity, contamination concerns and irritation, along with moderate cancer risk.
The California Environmental Protection Agency lists DEA as a possible human carcinogen.
But here's the good news! There are very easy ways you can use natural ingredients for products to maintain good dental health that are non-toxic.
Peppermint for oral health | Mint for teeth and gums

 Natural toothpaste recipe:
6 tablespoons coconut oil
3 tablespoons baking soda
1 tablespoon xylitol or 1/4     teaspoon stevia
30 drops peppermint or clove     essential oil (or combination of both)
2 teaspoons of liquid mineral or bentonite     clay
To make this, warm up the coconut oil until it is liquid, mix all the ingredients and then put it in a short but wide glass jar.
You can then easily use your toothbrush to scoop some out for brushing. Don't wet your toothbrush before or after scooping, just put it in your mouth and brush.
If you don't like the oil, you can try this:
1 tsp. baking soda
1 drop peppermint essential oil
A few drops of water
For healthy gums:
Use an irrigator or waterpik each day and put baking soda in the water. If your gums are not in a healthy condition or if you have beginning stages of periodontal disease, you might want to use an irrigator.
Just add two teaspoons of plain baking soda to a full reservoir of water (this gives you a concentration to kill bacteria).
If using a waterpik, start with tip behind the last tooth and slide forward along the gum line stopping between teeth for three to five seconds in each slot.
Direct the tip directly between teeth, not down into the gums. Use the tip from both the cheek side and tongue side.
Oil pulling:
This just entails swishing oil around in your mouth, ideally for about 20 minutes. If not 20 minutes, less is still beneficial. The best time to do this is first thing in the morning.
Immediately afterward, rinse your mouth out with warm water. You can rinse with salt water for added antimicrobial properties. Coconut oil is the best tasting oil option.
Recipe: Take a cup of coconut oil, warm it up until it is liquid, then add 10 drops of clove oil, 10 drops of tea tree oil and 20 drops of peppermint oil.
Add a little stevia and put it in a glass jar. Each morning take a teaspoon of it. It quickly warms up and becomes liquid in my mouth. Swish it around for 15 to 20 minutes while you are showering or futzing around or reading the news.
Mouthwash or water pick recipe:
10 oz. fractionated coconut oil
1/4 cup of tea tree oil
4 oz. bayberry tincture (optional)
1/4 tsp. of cayenne pepper
2 1/2 dropperfuls of peppermint oil
2 1/2 dropperfuls of clove oil
·         Stir all ingredients together and use as a mouthwash during the day. Be sure to shake well before each use.
·         Or you can use it with a waterpik by putting in two to four dropperfuls into your filled water reservoir — but rinse out your waterpik well after use.
