Greetings, my dear longtime SKIRT readers and honorable Tumblr colleagues. It has been a hot minute since you have heard from Skirt Journal, hasn't it been? Should I start with the good news or the good news? I will start with the good news, or rather, an explanation, we will get to the good news eventually, soon.
I am sure that most of you, despite your continuous and loyal support for the posts on this page, noticed a certain change in the quality and disposition of Skirtmag as well as the other platforms linked to the Skirt universe. This change was due to a significant technical blow, which was that I was no longer able to access Skirt with the same original computer the page was started on. It meant loosing a lot of planned content and the general organisation of the platform. To keep the page going, I had to rely on alternatives such as using public access computers, as well as borrowing equipment and such devices to keep making posts. Thankfully, I was able to somewhat maintain the rigor of Skirtmag but without doubt, it was clear that a certain quality of Skirt was affected in the process.
I had envisioned expanding on the voice of this platform and exploring the prospect of elaborating on the ideas expressed on Skirt with a collaborative, much more engaging interaction with the very audience of this page. Whilst the projection of that idea was affected, the alteration was in some way an opening to gaining new ideas and perspective that could nourish my current understanding of Skirtmag at that time. I was forced to look at the platform with objective eyes, which in turn meant I could learn how to present to you ideas and content in a more concise manner. This was a development which I saw that many of you did appreciate, and it also led to a clear discussion about what purpose pages like ours can have to offer, especially to people who feel passionate about ideas such as those expressed on Skirtmag. I was pleased with this notion of following the passion, and it managed to keep me heavily inspired for this entire year.
As for now, behold, GOOD NEWS! After much hassle and hustle, I am able to use the original PC again. The drama, oh the drama! Imagine!, emotions spewed out like a soap opera reunion as I logged back on today. I am overjoyed to regain access to all my files, along with the new concepts gained throughout the time I could use this old darling. I am thrilled to say that I can pick up where I left off with the old ideas and use them to sharpen up what we have going now. This means you can expect that good old Skirtmag voice to sound silky and clear for this Christmas and for 2023,........which reminds me Happy birthday Jesus!!

Rouje and The City Review : Part 1
I’m disappointed,Joking! Of course not. We should all know by now that is not something possible when talking about Rouje. People want their stuff and Rouje is giving it to them. However, minus the Rouje bias, it is important to talk about where this Rouje and The City drop leaves Rouje and our understanding of our beloved, Lesfillesenrouje. You could look at this collection as a maturing of the Fille En Rouje. She has embraced all that has made her the woman she is. She has also uplifted the status of the Gabin to a business suit or tuxedo. Rouje has set itself away from clichés and stereotypes and absolutely envisions self awareness and wholesomeness in the way it should be done. This new campaign starts at being somewhat of a down to earth addition to the Rouje world. This down to earth-ness being in the sense of how the pictures are set and who is representing Lesfillesenrouje. It is a perfectly diverse cast that represents the spirit of Rouje. Our Filles are in the city, dining, shopping, gossiping and eating out in a real Carrie Bradshaw and her Sex and the City squad manner. Unlike Sex and the City itself, this campaign feels rather realistic and attainable, all from the settings themselves to the clothes by Rouje which have taken a much more forward style to them and don’t steer away from the original clothing ideas and patterns from earlier collections.

Rouje and The City Review : Part 2
I was very pleased to see the continuation of key staple pieces such as the Jacob top, and its bottoms the pantalon Amale, but it doesn’t go without saying how exciting it is to see the new range of tops and t-shirt styles including the Chemise Lola, the Eléonore top and Giulia t-shirt to mention few. The combinations of the pieces in this collection feel very seamless and easy to put together. Everything seem more unified than ever before. Making new Color ranges and styling options that are both vibrant but feel very minimal as well. This is another outstanding project from the Rouje me which at first I had been skeptical about its execution but upon further study I realized that this is one of the most complete body of works a brand could ever produce under the umbrella of Fashion. Day by day I feel as if High-end fashion is slowly losing its place as “top tier” in clothing because of independent brands like this one which dedicates itself to people and to quality. It would be an exciting time and very interesting to see how Rouje will continue revolutionizing Fashion.
