Banana Fish Whump List
Summary: Nature made Ash Lynx beautiful; nurture made him a ruthless killer. A runaway forced into prostitution by "Papa" Dino Golzine as a child, Ash, now seventeen and head of his own gang, goes up against Dino, intent on destroying everything in his empire. But the hideous secret that drove Ash's older brother mad in Vietnam enters the scene, and sets off a chain of events that no one saw coming.

Whumpee: Ash Lynx
Highly intelligent, incredibly skilled in combat, excellent leadership, and a determination that knows no bounds, Ash is a very capable young man. He’s the stoic/defiant type of Whumpee, and has one of the most tragic backstories I’ve ever seen. Very Whumpable 👌

Ep19: forced to help enemy, feeling so much guilt that he feels sick, kissed by Whumper, drugged (it takes his sight), collapsed, weak, unable to keep food down (referenced). Lifted up by shirt, thrown down, getting bad news, having a fit (moment of insanity), kicked in the face, punched in the face a few times
Ep20: cant see, in a wheelchair, knife put to throat. Punched in the gut, tied up. Friends held hostage.
Ep21: confronting past abuser, reminded of past trauma (referenced recorded rape). Shot at, crashing through a window, forced to surrender to the enemy.
Ep22: tied up, rope around neck, punched, kneeling, strangled with the rope, pushed to the ground, groped, raped, kicked, had water dumped on him, lifted up by the hair. Friend getting shot to protect him, shot in the side.
Ep23: bandaged, collapsing, nightmare. Worried for friend.
Ep24: trapped, bound, pistol whipped, head stepped on. Shot at, shot in the side, kicked, strangled by bar held against throat, throat grabbed, stabbed, knife wiggled as it went in, pulling knife out, gun held to head. Stabbed, killed.

The Case Study Of Vanitas | Vanitas No Carte Whump List
Summary: A supernatural, historical story about Noé, a vampire looking to find the Book of Vanitas, and Vanitas, a human who inherited said book from the Vampire of the Blue Moon. The book was created to harm vampires of the red moon (everybody else), but Vanitas seems to have decided to use it for good, to save vampire kind from the curses that plague them. One night, the appearance of a curse-bearing vampire forces the paths of Noé and Vanitas to collide, and thus begins a tale of adventure, friendship, and blood.

Whumpee: Vanitas
He’s eccentric, seemingly reckless, never caring about his own well-being. He never wants anyone to get hurt because of him and has trust issues a mile high. He hides his pain behind a smile, very tragic backstory 👌
Season 1
Ep 1: punched hard in the gut, crashes onto bench, nose bleeding. Hit on head with a rock, fell a long ways.
Ep 2: hit in face with book, nose bleeding (not whumpy). Thrown at a bad guy, crashed into boxes. Violently pushed out of the way.
Ep3: nothing.
Ep4: bound, cut on face. Bitten, blood taken.
Ep5: nothing.
Ep6: frozen up to the neck.
Ep7: nothing.
Ep8: face bloodied, choked a little. Thrown into a cell.
Ep9: slammed into ground.
Ep10: meeting old Whumper, uncomfortably hugged by him, trauma reveal (scene of him covered in blood in the past). Reminded of deep trauma, disassociating/hallucination, thrown into a wall, passed out, traumatic hallucination(?), blood on face, eaten by a curse-bearer (briefly).
Ep11: nothing.
Ep12: threat of someone seeing his memories (deep fear).
Season 2
Ep1: cold, running for life, blasted. Cut on arm, loss of treasured weapon.
Ep2: poisoned, scar reveal, huddling for warmth, fever.
Ep3: nothing.

Ep5: blasted into a bookshelf, fell.
Ep6: caught in an explosion.
Ep7: blood on face, overuse of powers.
Ep8: nothing.

Ep10: past: (forcefully experimented on, someone else’s blood put into his veins, gagging, experimented on, screaming, crying. Weak, crying, upset.)
Ep11: fighting with a friend, bloodied face, attacked, punched, slammed into ground, slashed across the face, falling off building.
Ep12: attacked by loved one, traumatic flashback, slammed into ice, bandaged.
Whumpee: Noé
A little naïve, has good morals, never killed anyone, always wants to do the right thing. He cares deeply, is very empathetic, not a pushover though. His backstory is pretty tragic and is a driving force throughout his side of the story.
Season 1
Ep 1: bitten, blood taken (non-consensual). Fell a long ways.
Ep 2: traumatic flashback. Slammed into ground. Blasted, arm and shoulder bleeding.
Ep3: sees someone else’s traumatic memories, screams. Collared (not Whumpy).
Ep4: fighting, cut on face.
Ep5: In the past: (cries from grief. cries for friend. gets bad news, argues with friend. Watches several friends die brutally, bitten, blood taken, watches best friend decapitated, crying, gagging. Finds out traumatizing thing, more crying and gagging.) Almost gives up his identity.
Ep6: blasted with magic, upset, traumatic memories. Paralyzed.

Ep8: blasted, coughing. Vision impaired.

Ep10: eaten by a curse-bearer (briefly).

Sirius the Jaeger Whump List
Summary: Set in 1930, this series follows the Jaegers, a group of assassins who target vampires. Among them is a boy named Yuliy, the last of the Sirius kind. With a troubled past and an uncertain future, he sets out to discover the truth behind the revered “Arc of the Sirius”, a powerful artifact long protected by his people.

Whumpee: Yuliy Jirov
A quiet, determined werewolf, he can be reckless at times, jumping into danger without a moment’s notice. He starts the story intent on revenge, and finds a different goal along the way. I’d say he’s a defiant Whumpee.

Takt Op. Destiny Whump List
Summary: Takt Asahina loves music more than anything in the world, he plays the piano whenever and wherever he can. The problem is, monsters called D2s despise music, and seek to destroy anything that produces it. Takt is a conductor, meaning he and a musicart (Destiny) are bonded together in a D2-fighting team. (Musicarts are the only ones who can fight D2s). His bond with Destiny helps him achieve his goal of making music accessible again—but it comes at a price. Every time Destiny fights, it drains him and eats away at his body.

(I was hesitant to watch it because it didn’t look Whumpy but guys this is one of the Whumpiest anime I have ever seen. Takt is def the mc.)
Whumpee: Takt Asahina
Takt is the embodiment of the “overuse of powers” trope, his backstory is quite tragic. He receives Angsty Caretaking from Destiny and they have this great dynamic where their bodies are slowly dying every time they fight (Takt takes the brunt of the pain). He’s a stoic Whumpee, always determined to keep going on his chosen path.
Ep1: takes place after ep 4: {falling off a building, face planting in the concrete (no consequences 😢), thrown a ways (comedic). Collapsing. Weakened, falling to his knees, caught in an explosion.}
Ep2: in the past: (pushing at his father’s dead body, crying x2.) Caught in an explosion, arm torn up, best friend dying in his arms, crying, wounded arm restrained, same arm destroyed.
Ep3: in pain, weakened, collapsing. Scar(?) on hand. In pain, weakened, falling to a knee, shaking with the strain, confused.
Ep4: weakened, falling to a knee.
Ep5: in pain, weakened, collapsing, helped to to stand.
Ep6: traumatic flashback.
Ep7: sleep deprived, so shocked he falls out of his chair. Strained, panting, weakened. Angered.
Ep8: (scene continued) kicked hard (tumbled a ways), struggling to stand, slashed in the chest, bleeding, unable to get up. Carried in the rain, bandaged, has a fever, infection, won’t drink water from friend’s hand, drinks it when she puts it in her mouth and gives it to him that way, breathing heavily. Waking from unconsciousness, struggling to sit up. Sleeping, breathing heavily. Getting up, running, bleeding through the bandages. Weak, supported. Hand shaking, condition worsening.
Ep9: finds out he’s kind of dying, sleep deprived.
Ep10: in pain, weakened, pushed past his limits, collapsing. Watched good friend die to protect him.
Ep11: waking up in pain, weakened. In pain, weakened, falling to his knees, collapsing, unconscious, waking up, stumbling, did I mention he’s in pain? But he keeps going.
Ep12: fighting, thrown to the ground. In pain, weakened, hair turning white from the strain, falling to a knee. Friend leaving him.

Towa No Quon Whump List
Summary: In a futuristic Tokyo, children with special abilities (aka “attractors”) gather together, hiding from the organization Custos that’s hunting them. They are led by Quon, who’s determined to save and protect all attractors, no matter what.
Where to watch: wcostream
*I highly recommend this one, it has incredible, top tier Whump and the plot is well-written and excellently implemented. 6 episodes but each ep is almost an hour long so it’s about the size of your average 24 ep anime.*
Whumpee: Quon
If you look up “self-sacrificing” in the dictionary, Quon’s face would be staring back at you. He’s immortal, so he has thousands of years of trauma, and his wounds heal (but it hurts 😉). He has good morals and a big heart, lots of determination to save those he’s sworn to protect. So he’s optimistic, but he also knows the reality of his situation.

(Assume that: his resting state is feeling either concern or guilt, and 99% of the time when he’s fighting he’s doing it to protect/save someone.)

Ep5: fighting, injured, coughing up blood, cut all over, loved ones leaving him.
Ep6: cut over eye, trauma reveal. Attacked, shot twice in the torso, slashed across the chest, bleeding heavily, almost losing his brother, slammed against the wall, falling a long ways. Slashed across torso, arm twisted, electrocuted(?). Slammed into a beam, impaled by large metal spikes, hand through the torso. Arm in a sling.
