All i can say is that Turn: Washington's Spies is one of the BEST historical dramas I've ever watched. I loved every single episode of it. The characters, the ambientations, the writing, the soundtrack. Perfect. Just Perfect.

❝ it’s late, you might as well just stay here. ❞ (Anna taking Mary into Strong Manor to protect her from threats)
“Thank you.” Mary adjusts her grip on Thomas, and follows the other woman into her home. “That’s very kind of you, Mrs. Strong… I just don’t think it is a good idea to stay alone on the farm with Abraham aw…aw…away.”
A sob forms in her throat, and she tries to shove it down. What had Abraham been thinking when he ran off so rashly? Now he and Selah Strong are destined for York City, and a stint of imprisonment on the dreaded prison ship Jersey. The rash actions of both men left their wives unprotected, and with few resources they can rely on for their survival.
“I thought about going to White Hall,” She confesses, “But Abraham’s father seems to think I am responsible for Abraham’s actions, at least in part. He said something along the lines of ‘if I loved Abraham enough’, or ‘had more influence over him’ then this never would have happened…”
Richard’s words still bewilder her. What else could she have done for Abraham? She had already given him everything she could, and tried to make his home as comfortable and welcoming as possible. She had given him a son. She supported her father-in-law in his attempts to make Abraham grow and develop into his responsibilities as a husband and the Woodhull heir.
Why Richard thought Abraham’s actions, and the fact he had even been in Selah’s tavern in the first place, somehow indicates a failure on her part is a mystery that Mary is not sure how to unravel. If a man wishes to step into a pub, and have a drink, surely that is his prerogative. She might not approve of such an action, but she can hardly order her husband not to go!
Looking around the hall, she waits for directions from Anna. In her own home or White Hall, she would know what to do next. In Strong Manor, though, she is the guest. It is only proper that she waits until she receives guidance from her hostess.

Anna was silent for a long while -- arguably, too long. Although Benjamin wouldn't say they'd reached a turning point, per se, he hadn't expected his words to wound her in such a stark manner.
Regret colored his features, and looking down at Mary to spare Anna of his attention, he stroked his fingers through the young girl's hair as she dozed, cooing softly within the candlelight.
Anna's question roused him for a moment and Benjamin hesitated, stricken by her molten eyes and the brittle quality to her voice. "I…can see to it in the morning," he softly promised. "I'm not sure if we can leave exactly tomorrow, but I know Washington is impatient for more intelligence, and Abe…well…" Benjamin sighed, lifting his shoulders. "He hasn't exactly been delivering fast enough, and what he has brought to the table has apparently left much to be desired. In other words, I feel fairly confident that with Washington's blessing, we can set out as early as tomorrow afternoon."
Gently rubbing between Mary's shoulder blades, he asked, "Do you have all of your affairs in order? I imagine the doxies will be happy to tend the sutler cart, so you needn't worry about your campground duties."

The statement came as a relief to her. While she would sorely miss Keturah and Thomas terribly, they were arguably safer here in camp than they'd ever been back in Setauket among a plethora of British soldiers -- and Mary was too young to be used as a mouthpiece for the enemy.
Involving her youngest would surely have upset Selah. He would never have allowed it, were he a part of the planning, but the heartbreaking fact of the matter was...Selah was no longer there, and now Anna was the one who had to fight to protect their family. Besides, as Anna watched Ben hold Mary securely in his embrace, she knew he would look out for the little one's well-being.

"I'm sure they'll be glad to be rid of me for the time being. As you know, rumors spiral and the odious broads are under the impression I've special privileges because I'm getting off 'the young major Tallmadge.'"
The moniker had been said in a mocking tone, in the diction the uneducated doxies used as they wagged their insatiable tongues.
"I suppose you needn't worry about Abe while we're away, seeing as he hasn't delivered so much as one word as of late."

TURNsgiving2023 Day 2: Least Favorite Ep/Season
Honestly, Turn is one of those (very rare) shows where even if I'm not overly invested in an episode, I still don't dislike it. The only reason I'm voting for S02E07 is because of a simple answer: no Ben. I have a very low bar, apparently, 'cause no Ben automatically means "least favorite" for me lol. I also don't find Turn's GWash terribly interesting or likable, so having an entire episode focused on him makes the temptation to skip pretty strong.
Sorry, sir.
By that same rule of thumb, S2 features Ben the least, and harps on that snooze-worthy love hexagon (Mary x Abe x Anna x Selah x Simcoe x Hewlett) that I couldn't care less about, so I've gotta vote for S2 as my least favorite. Historically speaking, Anna was a very cool gal, so I hate that she was reduced to "resident love interest" for any top-billing male character. She had so many spying opportunities in the tavern and Strong Manor, so Idky instead, we were forced to watch "romantic" tug-of-war for three seasons. I only truly started liking her character in S4, which is when she was FINALLY free of any romantic plotlines, and thus, able to shine as her own person.
As I said: I don't dislike 2x7 or S2! I just return to these eps the least, because truly, the primary Ben moment I flat-out love from S2 is 2x4. It was the only time he seemed genuinely light-hearted, so I kind of cling to that scene and shape my pre-w.ar Ben characterization around it.

A year later prolific Richmond artist Nils Westergard leaned heavily on Selah's image in painting this mural behind @DramandDraughtGSO at Gate City Blvd and Eugene St in Greensboro, NC. Greensboro arts organizer @KotisStreetArt says Westergard's mural is "a continuation of a series of floral inspried portaiture that attempts to express the sometimes overwhelming affect of organic beauty."

Obituary
Windham Lawrence Rotunda, passed away at the young age of 36 years old on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He suffered from a heart attack in his sleep.
On Saturday, May 23rd 1987 — the world got a million hues brighter. As a 9lb 8oz, bright blue-eyed baby boy took his first gasp into a vast world. Born in Zephyrhills, Florida at the Pasco Medical Center. From that day forward, Windham Lawrence Rotunda took that boundlessness as a personal invitation to live his life larger than this world. And in every facet, he achieved that.
Windham was a global phenomenon as a highly acclaimed sports entertainer. But the most important aspects of his life were the ones he kept private. Those entailed being the best father to his four children and partner to his soon to be wife that he could be. As well as stopping at nothing to be there for his parents, siblings and friends.
He was a loving and devoted father, son, husband, brother, uncle and friend. And so much more than any combination of words can describe. His captivating personality led him to gain notoriety from millions of fans around the world. Windham’s uncanny ability to positively impact everyone he met, was a one in 8 billion trait. Without hesitation, he used all 86,400 seconds God gave him each day to live like it was his last. Always being the first to say, "I love you more." He lived with arms wide open and without regrets. Never taking for granted the little moments of life. Windham’s laughter, warmth and infectious smile will echo in all of our days.
He is survived by his fiance, Joseann Offerman who is the mother of two of his children Knash Sixx Rotunda (4) and Hyrie Von Rotunda (3) and daughters, Cadyn Cole Rotunda (12) and Kendyl Marie Rotunda (10) and their mother Samantha Pixley, His mother and father, Stephanie Windham Rotunda and Lawrence Michael Rotunda, His siblings, (brother) Taylor Michael Rotunda and (sister) Mika Lauren Rotunda and niece Selah Alice Taylor, maternal grandmother Julia Alice Windham, paternal Aunt, Anna Rotunda, Uncle, Robert Veruto. Paternal cousins Austin Veruto and Jared Veruto. Maternal Uncles Barry and Kendall Windham and their children, Callan Windham, Abbie Windham and Wyatt Windham. As well as extended family and soon to be family.
Windham was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Lawrence Michael Rotunda, maternal grandfather Robert Deroy Windham and his maternal grandmother Elizabeth Belokur Rotunda.
A private service will be held in his honor. The family asks for privacy and respect at this time and at the time of service.
They also encourage all of his friends and fans to share their stories of how he impacted them on this commemorative page.

“Oh Anna,” Mary gushes as soon as her arms close around the tiny baby. “She’s absolutely perfect!”
Mary does not see Anna Strong as much as she once had, having stayed in Setauket with Abraham while Anna moved to Philadelphia with Selah. When the chance comes though, Mary takes comfort in visiting her cousin again. She might be grateful that Abraham is wisely keeping his distance from his former lover, but Mary has forgiven all that bitter water. Their shared experiences in the war has given them new ground to build a friendship on.
When Mary heard that Anna had finally had her first child, she resolved to travel to the distant city in order to help for a few weeks. Though she did not admit as much in the letters, she also knew she desired to see something besides cabbages for a few weeks. Besides, Abraham had mostly managed by himself for the whole winter once…she assumes he can survive on his own for a few weeks. Her house might be in poor shape when she returnes, but he and Thomas will still be alive.
The water journey passed uneventfully, and Selah had one of his aides waiting at the dock to meet her. Unexpected delight at seeing Anna again is compounded by the beautiful baby girl she has had.
Cooing over the tiny child, Mary starts rocking her gently. “You named her Keturah, didn’t you? How has she been?” She gives the dozing infant another smile before gifting Anna a more concerned look. “How have you been feeling since Keturah was born?”
