No, but the money I would pay for a series about the clans.
Like
I want to know more about the Lin Kuei. What's the hierarchy like there? How was the training? I want to know more about how they were raised and to see how that shaped them into the characters we know.
Like, HOW fucked up is the Lin Kuei? Please I want to know. How was the escalation until they thought "Glorious evolution-izing" everyone was the way to go?
AND OH MY GOD A SERIES ON THE SHIRAI RYU
And when I say Shirai Ryu I really just mean Hanzo's backstory before shit went downhill
I would die for a series that shows me more about Hanzo. Like, we know that this man loved his wife and child. He literally went to hell and back for them. They are the driving force for his story.
But we are always only told that. SHOW me Hanzo being father of the year and husband #1
I want to know more about Harumi please I am so invested in her and she has like, 3 ½ lines in the history of the franchise.
please I am begging. the begining scenes of the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie destroyed me like look at this
Tumblr media
I want more of this
And this
Tumblr media
Yes I am aware that I sound like Johnny Cage in that one intro between him and Hanzo

Mortal Kombat movies ranked (from best to worst)
Tumblr media
1. Mortal Kombat (1995) - the best
The movie may be PG-13, and it's definitely showing its age (especially in regards to the FX), but it's still a fun movie with a great cast, entertaining fight scenes and a truly amazing soundtrack.
Tumblr media
2. Mortal Kombat (2021)
I actually don't mind this one. Sure, it has pacing and editing issues, but the FX, casting, fight scenes and fatalities keep it afloat for me. It can be much better, but it also can be much worse.
Tumblr media
3. Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind
The best of the Legends animated movies, though that may not be saying much since it has such a weird choice for source material (seriously, Kano's MK11 ending?!). Still, the movie manages to make the most out of it.
Tumblr media
4. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge
I actually felt this one was kinda overrated. I mean, it's okay, and it does have plenty of gore, but the fight scenes were basic, and the way they handled the lore and characters left a sour taste in my mouth.
Tumblr media
5. Mortal Kombat Legends: Cage Match
I simply don't care for this movie. I hate Johnny Cage in these animated flicks, so why should I care about a movie where he's the main hero?
Tumblr media
6. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
I know some will question why I didn't put this as the worst, but while this really is an awful flick, at least I can laugh at the movie for how such a shoddy production can be released in theaters. Plus, it has a great soundtrack.
Tumblr media
7. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms - the worst
A "film" that doubles down on everything we all criticized other MK movies for, and manages to squander the franchise's potential worse than the NRS timeline ever did.
That's all for now. If you disagree with any of these rankings, it's all good.

thinking about mk11 subscorp. Imagine how Kuai Liang felt when his Hanzo didn’t come back and it was past Scorp that joined them at the end. Hanzo asked him to go ahead and leave first, but maybe he wouldn't have been killed if Kuai Liang stayed. Imagine what Kuai Liang thought, looking at the much younger version of Hanzo now at their side. It's Hanzo, yes, but not his Hanzo. This Scorpion doesnt remember their relationship and the years of mutual trust and respect they built. He wasn’t the one that stood by Kuai Liang and promised they would avenge the loss of the Lin Kuei together. Kuai Liang's Hanzo was gone and he had to deal with it by himself.

I will just say, I do think that changing Julia Rothman's motivations behind the plan to make it about personal revenge/make her a woman scorned and then having several male characters calling her too emotional for it is uh. certainly a choice :/

[ID: four photos. The two on the left is Prince Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender as the two on right is Prince Goro from Mortal Kombat. Zuko is a skinny, kinda sickly looking young man with a shaven head apart from a tall ponytail of dark hair. He's in a fighting position in both photos, with one hand stretched out in front of him to soon firebend. Goro is a muscular Shokan (half human, half dragon) and is over eight feet tall and 550 pounds. He has four arms, two on each side, and is bare chested. He's bald apart from his high ponytail which looks strikingly similar to Zuko's. He's been edited to be in front of a similar background color as the Zuko photos. END ID]

the reason that kuai liang cannot work as scorpion is because kuai liang and scorpion are foils to each other in terms of how they handle their emotions.
scorpion is all-consuming rage, rage that blinds him and harms others for the sake of revenge- not justice. kuai liang, though well capable of feeling anger, has a hold of his anger. he can contain himself from exacting revenge because it is not what drives his character.
kuai liang’s role of scorpion makes him a very strange mash of two very opposite characters. we see scorpion’s rage unsheathe itself as he begins beating his enemies with his own chains, and even attempt to kill bi-han because he is so fueled by his own anger which blinds him to the consequences of killing his brother. kuai liang shows his character when after beating bi-han, he does not harm him further, but carries his body back to the temple. he spares his own brother as kuai liang would do, but scorpion’s character is gone as scorpion is hellbent on vengeance- meanwhile kuai liang isn’t.
we could see kuai liang work through his anger, bring himself to slowly forgive bi-han, but with that happening, where would scorpion go? we can see scorpion never forgive bi-han, instead constantly fueled by the pain that is his father’s death and brother’s betrayal, but then where would kuai liang go?
these characters cannot exist as each other, these characters are meant to exist by each other.
