Football things: im more disappointed that argentina lost to saudi arabia before than i am mexico being disqualified for the first time in the first half since 1978 lol and people here are extremely pissed and think that the argentinian coach for team mexico sabotaged them (when it’s more likely the execs and not the team/coach) got bribed) especially considering how shady massive sporting events are. Anyways, congrats to south korea 😂
To be fair Saudi Arabia played... Not super well but they had guts and really wanted that win against Argentina - ditto for Iran against Wales - so I was unironically cheering for them, especially since they were seen back then as free wins and people never took them seriously.
It's also why I'm so happy about South Korea - here in Europe football is sadly really really really euro centred so whenever a "non European" team who never won a WC plays they're treated as fodder (ou ptet c'est just Lizarazu, je suis à ça de prendre un abonnement bein pour ne plus l'entendre) so it's really, imo, a good thing.
Like, our match Wednesday against Tunisia proved it, it's not because they're "smaller teams" that you should scorn them and pull out the Z team.
I'm not really knowledgeable on the Mexican team, but lol does everyone hate Argentina in the Americas or what hahaha
