Was scrolling through some Project Hail Mary posts and one mentioned the map Rocky makes Grace during first contact and it got me thinking....
If Eridians never developed eyes and never looked up to the stars (on account of their ridiculously dense atmosphere and the utter lack of visible light reaching their planet's surface)... How did they figure out their sun was dying? And how did they learn about tau ceti and create a map of the stars???
I feel like this is answered in the book itself and I'm just spacing on it right now BUT this conundrum does give me and excuse to read the book again so I'm not complaining lol.

Rocky Sculpt Progress
First, I started out with this little wire and foil "spider".
Then, I had to warm up the clay with my body heat and sculpt it around the wire. This took a lot of messing around with lol.
I messed around with the pose until I found one I liked: Jazz Hands!!!
And then into the oven he goes. Bye bitch
And finally, paint and detail! I still have to put a protective glaze on him but I can't find it atm.... oh well.
