Weirdly specific Colin Hughes HC: he can sing, and he knows multiple musicals by heart. He’s a little annoyed when Ted has the water pressure in the showers fixed, because he would wait to be one of the last ones to shower, and sing show tunes. Ted and Beard heard him do a good chunk of the first act of Pippin once. His version of “Corner of the Sky” is really good.

Fun HC fact: he has 3 sisters. They’re all quite a bit older than he is. There’s a 15 year gap between him and his oldest sister. She’s a legit opera singer. His other two sisters are a lawyer (she refuses to let Colin sign a contract until she’s read it with a fine-tooth comb), and some kind of scientist (don’t ask Colin to explain… he’s not quite sure himself). He jokes they got all the brains, so by the time he came along (surprise!) there weren’t any left. All three of them know Colin is gay, even though he hasn’t come out to them. They’ve known since he was 7 or 8 years old. They are all fiercely protective of him in the manner of the Eumenides, and will cheerfully flatten into a pulp anyone who hurts their baby brother. Unbeknownst to him, they do a Hughes Sisters FaceTime call and watch Richmond games together. His third sister wears a Bumbercatch jersey. (“Fuck yeah, he’s mad fit!”)

His is only the 2nd generation of his family to not work in coal mines. His gran insisted they all be fluent in Welsh as a way to tell the British monarchy to piss off. They almost exclusively speak Welsh at home.
