Sometimes, when the day is quiet and there is barely anyone else around, the tugging urge to open up and be vulnerable overcomes stubbornness.
AKA: A short list of scenarios where various Recreyo members care about each other/headcanons of how they would be affectionate.
Ivan listening to the others rant as he bandages up their wounds, actually making an effort to not interrupt or irritate them when they're already physically hurt.
Christian letting the others rest in his room, giving them background music on his keyboard to help lull them into sleep.
Curt deliberately staying up as everyone else falls asleep. Before he gets into bed, he makes sure that everything is shut off, and that they're all safe as well.
Den letting the others play with her (stubbier) knives to distract them from wounds/other things.
Kristine weaving together flower crowns and leaving them around the HQ to be found. It slowly turns into a game of whoever has the most, "wins."
Kristine and Christian playing music/talking together to give Den something to listen to when the souls get too much to handle.
Curt pretending to not notice his jackets go missing when they're in a particularly cold scenario.
Den, Christian, Kristine, and Curt painting nails together.
Ivan wordlessly slipping coughdrops and medicine into pockets when he notices that they're strangely quiet during a scenario.
Affectionate touches being framed as threats/violence, like:
- Ivan slapping people’s backs,
- Christian tugging on collars like he’s gonna spit in their faces,
- Kristine biting into the hands that go near her,
- Curt using a gun to lightly tap on people and guide them in directions,
- Den using the side of a knife blade to pat and reassure people
However, when they do manage to play out normal affectionate gestures, it’s very rare and only in specific settings. Sometimes after a particularly scary scenario, they find it in themselves to lay their heads on shoulders.
During the SCP arc, Kristine begins the tradition of greeting Curt with a hug every time he shows up. The others don’t follow through with it fully (Ivan does a half-hug, Christian pulls away and says “got’cha!” before they even touch, and Den just bonks her head onto his shoulder) …but it’s the closest they’ve ever been.

this song is so rc (especially directed at curt) it makes me insane . also my messy analysis is 100% just based off my headcanon version of her so dont think about it too hard okay im overthinking thats the BRAND
this part but it's how curt has to be the one to get recreyo out of the mess with the scp foundation. referring to the other members as "wolves and voices" is just so. UGHHH. the way recreyo loses their humanity with every death and kill and the way they distance themselves from other people.... god complex recreyo U guys NEED to explore that....
and obviously this part is abt rc being So Close to Human but. Not. because she's an ai!!! because she wasnt even created by people who can call themselves human anymore!!!! she didnt even have a chance when she was forgotten about immediately :(
and this part. Holy shit. the "they" in this could totally be her referring to the audience since she's breaking the 4th wall Constantly trying to get that spotlight back. she got called a child - a mascot, but she can't bother with that when she knows she can be So Much More.
this is mostly abt how curt played god and 'dressed up' for worlds that weren't made for him LOL and the next line is just me really liking recreyo chan having some sort of time motif. mostly as a reference to s1's stopwatch logo - which i love the hc that it was their teleportation device. her saying she's time itself is her reclaiming that spot of "god"

Curt Richy – God of the Insignificant
this is mostly based on how he’s always able to get himself into places. He’s a teacher at multiple anime academies, an b-class in the scp foundation, a government member in the mandala catalog, etc.
the abnormalities i headcanoned for him are also more unnoticeable, only showing when he lose emotional stability (?)
Ivan Animated – Deity of Reason
his god form is kinda just.. um.. empty matter? he basically just evaporates into nothing and expands his presence to sense things. im not sure why he’s the deity of reason, perhaps because he’s pretty reasonable at times and i wanna have it connect to cause-and-effect and stuff
Cypher Den – God of Chaos
she inherited her godhood by defeating and consuming the previous chaos god, so she's not... unkillable. You just need someone strong enough to defeat and consume her... Unlikely.
while she has full control over her tentacles and can wield them to her hearts content, she actually prefers physical combat like she would before godhood. so, what to do with her "extra-limbs" while she's stabbing people? that's where the "stolen souls" come into play.
the previous chaos god was notorious for stealing souls to extend his own life. when he was defeated, den absorbed what was left of him. the souls now resided in her mind, forming a community and… somethings of political parties? den speaks to them, more often accidently rather than on purpose, her hyperattentive brain broadcasting her thoughts to the stolen souls, supplying topics for the parties to debate about. they are currently discussing whether water is wet or not as we speak.
amongst the abnormalities that signaled her godhood, a large yin-yang symbol was found on her back, rotated sideways so the two dots are on one horizontal line, where her tentacles would sprout. the souls on the two sides of the argument each take a side, diverging and splitting into more tentacles as their opinions and reasonings differ. this way, the souls with the most similar ideas would be controlling the same tentacle collectively, without much conflict. in addition, if under any case, den would required usage of her tentacles, she has full abilities to override the souls and take over.
Chilly Panda – God of Reptiles
a descendant of ancient beast tamers, a small group under the title of the kimono clan (ivan wtf). her mother has been absent throughout her life (mummy episode reference lmao), she was raised by dad (recreyo’s dad in the death note episode) with to no clue about her powers, other than the lizards that tend to pause and stare as she passed by.
until a trip to a luxury resort island with her friends. accidents occurred and she found herself suffering the loss of a right forearm and an extra impractical eye on her forehead.
when the raptors bowed down to her, they submitted themselves as her followers, awakening her powers. had the incident not ascend her to a demi-god state, perhaps she would have lived and died as a mortal. almost like a certificate for her abilities, her third eye allowed her to summon raptor companions, sadly only along with a ritual pattern.
first time she called them to her aid, it was regarding the issue of her severed arm. chilly requested them to source her a limb as replacement, but perhaps she wasn’t clear enough, they watched as one of them ripped off it’s arm and offered it to the demigod. shrugging, chilly handed it to ivan, who was forced by den’s knife to complete the process of sewing the raptor claw onto chilly. it was his fault after everything.
Frugal Aesthetic – Deity of flame
he didn’t know how it happened. one day he was doing his job of a freelance therapist, and another day passed and he was hearing people whisper their troubles. actually no. that was a joke, the first sentence. the last one in his spot retired, and suppose they found he the most worthy in the blood line.
now he’s gotta listen to random people’s troubles. at least he’s immortal now, wielding fire is also pretty lit.
(this is basically connected dr.ake with the fact that a lot of people whisper their troubles to candles before blowing them out to symbolize blowing their troubles away
prolly didn’t make sense but i can’t think of anything. he’s pretty much just a minor god that listen to people vent and can wield fire)
Kristine Fel – God of Deceit
you’d think being a god of deceit would make her good at lying. or maybe she is. although, how was she to know when the lies overflow and come back to confuse the liar? the world is constructed on lies. so hard to find honesty woven in between everything.
(as god of deceit, kristine can shapeshift into anything. her true form- or is it another lie she tole? is a twig of two sakura flowers)

Recreyo Headcanons:
Due to being a chaotic demon God (personal headcanon, she became one of Insanity) when ever she truly hates something or losses her mind or any insane emotions, her fingers turn black and sharp as a reaction to her God power being a bit (way) to much for her mortal form to handle.
She also visits Chilly in the afterlife in order to get them fixed.
Oh, and the second headcanon is that Chilly ascended into an actual God and just keeps the ancient beasts company in the afterlife. She also keeps the other members alive by making them semi immortal (they can die, but they come back after a few days), unlike her just willing their souls back to their bodys when she was mortal. She also learned how to restore body parts from death

Recreyo Headcanon:
Other than her raptor arms and eye (and a few other things), Chilly grew a tail! It's the same color as her arms and is fairly long at 3 feet and has black and grey feathers along the top.
She can hold things with it, and it helps her balance, but her favorite thing to do is use it on the other members . She loves to show affection by smacking the others when she appreciates their actions of them, and when they watch movies on movie night, she grabs the closest recreyo member and will not let go when she is scared.
The others don't necessarily mind. They are friends, after all. The smacks do hurt due to the scales, but it's not exactly major damage. It just feels like some minor burns. She can use it as a weapon as she can hit harder with it. But she likes to avoid her tail getting hurt in the process.

3. What do you think is the best episode of recreyo. What episode would you like to see talked about the most (for lore implications or structure]
1- Admittedly, I'm not an original fan. I only found out about Recreyo mid of last year, buttt from what I've seen... the least talked about member is probably... Den or Curt.
Den seems like she's faded from the spotlight in videos nowadays, and Curt just generally doesn't seem talked about a lot to me. Which is weird, because he definitely has lore building up with the SCP arc.
On the other hand, I think Chilly and Ivan definitely have the most written about them. Kristine is new, but the fandom headcanon of her being an antagonist really gave her a spot in some lore conversations... although, I feel like I'm the only who's actually putting her in fanfics.
2- Where do I even start? I already struggle with being consistent in general, but I think with Recreyo I struggle even more. I think I just never know how exactly I want to portray each member.
Like mentioned, I didn't have a good grasp on Kristine before, so as I'm writing IRFTS Chapter 4 I feel like I might as well retcon half her personality while I'm at it.
But with the others I really have no excuse, I'm just awful at planning things out XD. Like, do I want Den to be responsible or not? Do I think Ivan is justified or not? What the fuck is going on with Curt??? You couldn't ask me, 'cause I would not know.
With other works.. hmm, I wouldn't be able to say. I feel like there's not enough fanfics to really gauge that.
Maybe as a whole, though, I think it's naturally hard to figure out when there's a good amount of hostility being written into Recreyo's interactions or not. They're obviously not very... nice, but they do have standards. I think those boundaries in their group can be tricky to write consistently.
3- Hmm.. I mean, right now, what other answer is there other than the SCP episodes? I think Curt's really great with storytelling, and I like the setup he's doing for his own lore with how he's the one protecting the crew as an SCP worker.
Another favorite though is the Zombie Apocalypse episode. I think that one's pretty great and has a lot of potential. Young Christian is a riot, and although I'd probably age him up slightly if I made a fanfic for it, I think it's a really nice substitute for how he was the new member at the time.
I don't know if anyone's caught on, but I write Christian with a slight "I'm a little left out of the loop by accident" attitude. At least, if I'm consistent (haha) and the Zombie Apocalypse episode really fuels that.
Plus, Ivan getting to be a doctor is always nice. It'd be a cool way to show the others being vulnerable to him when he has to heal them up.
It's just... so underrated. There's so many good bits in there that could be exploited. Like Ivan losing an arm is gold, and Christian being implied to be a cannibal is just.. I love that.
(However, if you asked me this question when I first got into Recreyo, I'd probably say the Gundam episode.)
