One day per week, there is also the ‘Thai Street Food Market’, meaning a buffet with freshly made Thai street food in the area above the Main Restaurant. My favorites there were the small coconut puddings with either corn or spring onion, not sweet but great nonetheless. I would suggest being careful at the dessert buffet, though. Many of the sweets there tend to taste weird to Europeans…

Price:

I booked very much last minute, and it was side season, so in comparison to the usual price, I barely paid half, which was a very good offer, considering it was a week in a Pool Bungalow, All Inclusive, flights included, transfer included…

Booking:

I would not recommend anyone book a stay as late as I did (less than three days before the first flight starts). It did work for me, and I had no trouble getting my travel documents as soon as they sent the booking confirmation, but it was still way to stressful for me, worrying wether or not it would work. That said, they were very nice and helpful, and it ended up working out perfectly.

Flights:

My flights were included in the price already. When booking your stay, you can usually choose between a few options.

I flew with Turkish Airlines, economy class, via Istanbul. It worked out perfectly, no trouble with my suitcase or cabin baggage at all. Only sleeping during the flight didn’t work well, after all, it was economy class.

Upon arrival:

Being from Europe, I did not need a visa, as my stay wasn’t longer than 30 days. However, like everyone else, I had to complete an Arrival/Departure Card upon arrival, including things like where I would stay, my name, age, home address, passport number, …

At the passport check, I got very lucky. I arrived very early in the day, so there were barely any queues, and someone working at the airport pointed me towards the nearest non-existant queue, the one for chinese passports, where it was my turn immediately. It wasn’t a problem that my passport obviously wasn’t a chinese one.

If you need medical attention:

The club has a nurse, who is on duty starting at 8 am, and a doctor, who is present from 1 pm to 2 pm. If you need help outside these times, they can send for a doctor from the nearest hospital, or send you to the hospital without any problems.

However, only a visit from the nurse is free of charge, so it is very, very important that you have a travelling insurance! (Mine is with ADAC.)

Other Comments:

In Thailand, you need to be very careful with what you drink. Bottled water and other bottled drinks are always the first choice. Even if they tell you that the tap water gets filtered, it would be better to not even use it for brushing your teeth. The club provides each room/bungalow with at least four bottles of water each day, which can be used for that, too.

On a more positive note: The club has a service where you can call any time during the day to be picked up and driven somewhere by cart free of charge! I mainly used it in the evening to get to the restaurant and back, as my bungalow was quite far from the main building. (I felt so spoiled XD)
