Drama Review: The Good Bad Mother

I just finished watching The Good Bad Mother’s last two episodes. It was a nice ending even though Ra Mi-Ran’s character had to die because of her illness. I liked that the writers were able to give the minor characters their closure properly and not rushed unlike in some dramas. The mother-son scenes were probably the highlight of this drama. How they drifted off, patched things up, and forgave each other.

One of the scenes that was hard to watch was when Young-soon was throwing Kang-ho in the river so he could stand up. I wouldn’t agree it’s the right thing to do because it’s forcing him to do something that takes time. And on top of that, he just saw his mom off herself. I’d be confused and mad af.

Everyone praises Lee Do-Hyun for his acting. I do agree that his acting here is top notch, but not a 100%. Maybe about 75%? I just feel like it’s lacking, but I can’t point it out. In my opinion, his acting in 18 Again was way better.

Anyway, this drama had a good run. I enjoyed watching it. I did cry, especially during the mother-son scenes. I laughed a lot, too.

Look I get why she's doing it but Young Soon basically abused Kang Ho his entire life so he would become a prosecutor and avenge his father. And now that she finds out he has been doing exactly that, she destroys his life's work and gives a self righteous speech about how revenge is living a good and happy life.

I feel for her, especially all her responsibilities, but she just keeps hurting her child.
