The German PzKpfw IV Ausf F2 was a comparatively simple evolution from the Ausf F with thicker armour and more importantly a long barrel 75mm gun for enhanced anti tank capabilities. This particular tank is somewhat unusual in having a single rather than double baffle muzzle break

mr tank man if you had to sell a tank to the NRA/KMT during the second sino-japanese war, what would you sell them?
My answer would be the Czechoslovakian Škoda LT vz. 35, which is better known by some as the PzKpfw 35(t). It existed in the proper timeframe, entering service 2 years before the start of the conflict, and for its time, it was an exceptional light tank, being a match for or beating every Japanese tank of the time, and even, in my opinion, beating out the first few german Panzer models. In addition to this, they were fairly simple, mechanically, and very reliable: out of the 244 that Germany took into the invasion of France, only 77 had mechanical failures, and only 7 of those were deemed irreparable. If the KMT was able to secure a significant number of them, or, even better, obtain a liscene to produce them, it would significantly improve their prospects.

1942 10 14 Destruction of the 37th Guards Division - Steve Noon
After a massive air and artillery bombardment the Germans began their offensive against the northern factory district. The forward Soviet positions were devastated by the bombardment and the Germans began their ground assault with Kampfgruppen from 14.Panzer-Division and 305.Infanterie-Division pushing towards the Tractor Factory. The German attack struck 37th Guards Rifle Division at the boundary between Omelchenko's 109th Guards Rifle Regiment and the neighbouring 114th Guards Rifle Regiment. Omelchenko's regiment took the brunt of the assault with his 2nd battalions soon being isolated in the workers settlement. Omelchenko's headquarters was located further back in a stout five-storey building known as the 'House of the Professors,' but was soon under direct attack. In this painting, II./Panzer-Regiment 36 lead the attack with a handful of PzKpfw III tanks, struggling across the cratered, rubble strewn landscape. One of the tanks was knocked out by anti-tank rifle fire and Molotov cocktails. The Germans soon brought forward infantry who we see picking their way through a shattered Soviet 120mm mortar position destroyed in the bombardment. The German infantry managed to storm the lower levels of the building but were thrown out after hand to hand fighting. The Germans decided to bypass the building, leaving a small force to to deal with the Soviet position and pressed onto the Tractor Factory. Once night fell Omelchenco led a breakout of the survivors, reaching the Soviet positions near the Barrikady Factory with about 70, mostly wounded men. Omelchenko soon learned of the loss of the Tractor Factory to the Germans and the destruction of 37th Guards Rifle Division which had lost 95 percent of its troops in the days fighting.

Hey Dude, how are you?
Hey there. I'm okay, thank you for asking. On holiday break until the first of January, trying to pull myself together. Got some gifts, most notable of them being a Cobi Pzkpfw. V Panther ausf. G model. It's very cool, but the tracks are kinda hard to attach. Also a GW Necromancer miniature and plenty of money. I'm wondering what to write for the next post, and in the meantime I'm playing through SUCCUBUS. Very nasty content-wise, but quite enjoyable - it's DOOM but in reverse.
But in a week things will go back to normal. Just thinking about it makes me sick.
