imagine it from willies perspective though...... he's just casually skateboarding one day and crashes into this hot and awkward ghost, then finds out he's into guys and might have a chance with him. they hang out, and this ghost needs help so of course he has to help him, but he brings him to this club that has owned his soul for probably most of his life. he really didn't want to let him down bc this is probably the least safe place for them to be. then his worst fears come true and they're given the stamp, he's just ruined his chance with this guy and destroyed the lives of him and his band mates as well. he tells them their only option is to cross over, he had a chance with a guy and he went so far that it was ruined and he probably hates himself for it. now alex can't even have an afterlife without him bc he doesn't have one at all. he's constantly checking in on them, seeing how bad the jolts are, if they were going to make it, how bad did he hurt alex. he does everything he can to help them cross over but that doesn't even work. his last memory of alex is a hug, they both know they could've had a chance together, but it just didn't work out.
