after the first military announcement for maknae line + nj, i started distancing myself from jm and began to get into another group i used to stan (bc i am weak willed lmao i just always need something to obsess over but admittedly this has helped with softening the blow of jimin leaving, i feel like if he was the only person i stanned rn it would have hurt a lot more) but now i just feel so exhausted bc im noticing some of the same problems within this other fandom that also exist with armys, and ofc that's something to do with shippers lol.
there's this member who i bias in this bg who gets basically almost the same exact treatment as jimin gets from taekookers all because he supposedly threatens the status of the group's most popular ship; he gets accused of being an attention seeker, a bed hopper, of trying to insert himself into the ship, he gets slutshamed and treated like the other woman etc.
ofc this all isn't as big of a thing as it is with jm + taekook simply bc bts' fandom is so so much bigger and bc for the other boygroup, those comments are harder to see if you only speak english (their western fanbase isn't as big as their asian one). despite that, it's just sad to see. i didn't realise how much all the hate towards jimin affected me until i returned to stanning this other group and seeing that same kind of hate being thrown against another person that i love. idrk what the point of this ask is tbh sorry im just tired 😭 stanning these kpop boys shouldn't be this hard lmao
Yeah, but it's true... everyone's the same in all fandoms. There is a certain behavioral pattern in people who are part of fandoms, I mean the ones that are really really involved; and even more so with shippers.
The only other group that I ever liked was one direction, and though my time as a fan was short (like two years), all those things happened as well with larry and their girlfriends. The hate, the conspiracy theories, the "they're sending signals". It was all there.
The difference tho, was that everybody liked larry. It wasn't like the fandom itself hated one of them. It's ironic that BTS are closer friends all with each other than 1Dever was, yet in the 1D fandom there weren't people who hated another member. And the few that existed, they kept quiet mostly, it wasn't a huge thing and they didn't run hate/defamation campaigns against the member they didn't like.
The stans of different members only started fighting each other once they went solo.
Then, last year during November 2022 - January 2023 I watched Big Brother (Argentina) for the first time in my life, and there were a few ships (both straight and gay) that the public liked. The guys from the gay ship both had girlfriends inside the house, like they had sex with them and everything. And I kept seeing the same discourses I see in the fandom lmao. It really was a surreal experience to see people saying the same things the say about celebrities ships, but about real people this time.
I mean, people (shippers) getting angry at their girlfriends, and some even turned to "solo stans" (not with those words) because they thought A was hurting B, so they stopped supporting B. I'm not kidding.
It was even more surreal that the same thing was happening in Big Brother Italy, literally at the same time. They also had two male friends who like, flirted with each other and had a strong friendship and they even kissed too. Though in Italy one of them was actually a gay man out of the closet, and the other had a girlfriend.
It also kind of desensitized me a lot to jikook or BTS ships in general and the skinship. And it also made me realize that there's only so far "cultural lenses" go.. because millions of people were watching the same show everyday, but it was only a few thousands who were like "these two guys are totally gay and in love with each other".
Mind you, they even kissed each other on the mouth and yet nobody (except the shippers) were calling them a couple or saying that it was serious. More than anything because they both already had girlfriends inside of the house.
Well, and this year's season just started this week and I've watched a couple of hours but I'm still not hooked. I'll probably keep watching though because it was really distracting last year, so that'll be my drug of choice lol. There really isn't any other group I like, so I'll settle for watching movies and tv shows and maybe reading.

november!! weird month, but hey we got some good music. open for names and a little blurb about each one
olivia rodrigo - guts : basically guaranteed top 2 aoty at this point which is hilarious, but in my defense i am in my teenager era
studio killers - self titled : i refuse to use the "special edition" cuz it's literally just the album with one song swapped for a song that came out 5 years later so they could split their single off the album. idk why this has been resurfacing but it's quite good so hey why not right
jessica lea mayfield - make my heart sing : idk i'm in my grungy traumatized alt-country rock thing era and yeah this hits
hayley williams - flowers for vases / descansos : [ bolds the word "traumatized" in the last one silently ]
sigrid - the hype : this just kinda snuck up on me? really good pop hits we love to see it
be your own pet - mommy : surprisingly memorable! was kinda whelmed on first listen but it's very listenable and fun so hey
kesha - gag order : [ underlines the word "traumatized" from earlier ]
faye webster - i think i'm funny haha : starting to revisit a lot of music i stopped listening to around the time of my return in august 2022, so this record has become a solemn comfort item in a way, which is fitting i think
hiroshi yoshimura - green : stunningly poignant ambient record. has become a major force in my life fr
julia jacklin - pre-pleasure : [ circles the word "traumatized" ]
taylor swift - 1989 taylor's version : i really don't have any defense other than this album reminds me a lot of 2017, and with tears of the kingdom coming out earlier this year i was itching to revisit it in a new way. the fucked part is that three of her records could've been on here actually tho (this + red tv + midnights)
laurel halo - atlas : really really good ambient record. it sounds like the cover looks in the best way
boygenius - the record (+ the rest tbh) : finally coming back around to this and crying my eyes out to cool about it, what else is new
fiona apple - extraordinary machine : this one has just been floating in the background of the whole month for me. it's really good and underrated for her tbh
pearly drops - a little disaster : just so good. it's stim content to me i think
billie eilish - tv songs : [ adds stars around the word "traumatized" ]
hitsujibungaku - our hope : god this album is just so evergreen. can't wait for their new one next week wtf wait it's next week LMFAO
troye sivan - something to give each other : idk this has stuck with me quite a lot! not as good as BN or IAD but defs better than bloom imo. one of your girls is a classic already i just know it
carly rae jepsen - the loveliest time (+ the loneliest time) : this one finally came back around for me and god what a flawless (set of) album(s). she really said hold on i'm making bangers
ethel cain - preacher's daughter : i can't even prove i streamed this this month, but this album has been rattling around my skull the whole time.
oklou - galore : this one always just comes back at the most random times, but it's always welcome. it's like an old friend who's also a sparkling fairy
clairo - sling : [ just points at the word "traumatized" at this point because like do i even need to say it anymore ]
lorde - pure heroine : my winter sleeper hit, this album is so poignant. at least for me, each time i go back to it it grows richer i think. it's a kind of love letter To and From my youth in the same breath, and in this age of "ok but i'm getting older and things are changing but i also feel like a teenager again bc of the hormones but i also know things are gonna get drastically different soon" it's such a good comfort pick
maggie rogers - surrender : despite all the trauma above this, i do still have some fire left in me. [ the intro to either "want want" or "shatter" play ]
the volunteers - self titled : just a sleek good rock album. i love the vocalist and the songs are so good... stan immediately
no predictions bc i've been struggling to listen to music at all this month. i will return someday i swear

Would you like to tell us something about the 50k prongsfoot wip? 🙏🏼
YES!!!! holy shit i fucking love talking about my fics. rambling under the cut so i can include some snippets
so it’s titled my calamitous love (and insurmountable grief) and the basic premise of it is that it’s a canon compliant (more or less. i use the term canon compliant lightly) fic focused on james and sirius’ fifth year. originally, it had started as a vent fic for me to write whump about sirius, but then i just kept writing and it just kept evolving. i say 50k but thats a bit of an exaggeration as the fic is currently only at about 40k words, but the issue lies in that i think it’s about 75% done so it’ll likely end up to be like 60k or so words.
it is a very heavy fic and one of the main plot points is that sirius has an eating disorder so it is definitely not a light fic! it also focuses on sirius & regulus’ relationship almost as much as it does on prongsfoot (what can i say? sibling relationships destroy me) and it’s very hurt/comfort.
i mostly started writing it bc i wanted more longer prongsfoot fics. theyre probably (definitely) my fav marauders ships and i wish more people saw how good they can be romantically instead of focusing so hard on the “platonic soulmates” bit. like maybe they kiss a little!! (also you didnt hear it from me, but im kinda a wolfstar hater… i mean theyre fine but theyre so boring to me. prongsfoot 🔛🔝 (elaborating on this: wolfstar is fine and i like the ship fine, but i dont like most fandom interpretations of them and the fandom has made me dislike them. i like good wolfstar characterizations tho.))
the general plot goes from the beginning of fifth year likely to somewhere around sixth year (though i havent decided as i havent written that far and i dont plan fics in advance at all). it includes sirius running away from grimmauld place to the potters and a lot of silly banter between the marauders.
the problem with it is that i started this fic about a year ago (november 2022) and my writing style has changed a lot since then so in order to finish this fic, i need to do a complete edit and revamp which honestly! i would like to do if i have time! i am also working on my long jason gender fic always an angel (never a god) which takes a lot of my free time, but i might return to this prongsfoot fic once that behemoth of a fic is finished.
let me include some random snippets of this fic that i really like!!
my problem is that i continuously create fics and then never finish them when my hyperfixation dies. i plotted out a rosekiller fic with the funniest concept ever and then just never did anything with it and it just rots in my google docs
but anyways!! as u can tell im literally the yapmaster 5000 so if u ever want to ask abt any of my wips or fics, i will gladly ramble. (wait until u hear about the prongsfoot daisy jones & the six au that i started)

Cathay Pacific Reports December 2019 Traffic
Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon carried a total
of 2,994,830 passengers in December 2019, a decline of 3.6%
compared to the same month in 2018.
The passenger load factor increased by 1.2
percentage points to 85%, while capacity, measured in available
seat kilometres (ASKs), decreased by 1.3%.
For 2019 as a whole, the number of
passengers carried declined by 0.7% against a 5.1% increase in
capacity as compared to 2018.
Cathay Pacific Group Chief Customer and Commercial
Officer, Ronald Lam, said, “Demand for travel into Hong Kong
continued to be weak in December with our inbound passenger
traffic seeing a year-on-year decline of 46% – unchanged from
November. The sentiment for travel into Hong Kong was particularly
weak on our regional routes such as mainland China, Taiwan and
Japan. On the brighter side, our long-haul routes performed well
with better load factors. Outbound traffic, meanwhile, was down 4%
– a further improvement over the previous few months, but still
significantly below what we would expect for a peak holiday month. Given the overall weak performance of both our inbound and
outbound traffic, we remained heavily focused and reliant upon
lower-yield transit traffic via Hong Kong, which grew by 15%
compared to the same time in 2018. Overall, our passenger load
factor in December improved by 1.2 percentage points from last
year to 85%, partly due to a 1.3% reduction in capacity. 2019
was an incredibly challenging year for both the Cathay Pacific
Group and Hong Kong. Our full-year load factor remained above 82%
despite being 1.8 percentage points lower compared with 2018.
Intense competition, particularly during the non-peak period,
along with our greater reliance on transit traffic have continued
to place significant pressure on yield.”
The two airlines carried 177,561
tonnes of cargo and mail in December 2019, a decrease of 2.9%
compared to in December 2018.
The cargo and mail load factor
declined by 1.3 percentage points to 66.4%. Capacity, measured in
available freight tonne kilometres (AFTKs), was down by 3.8% while
cargo and mail revenue freight tonne kilometres (RFTKs) dropped by
5.7%.
For 2019 as a whole, the tonnage fell by 6.1% against a 0.3%
reduction in capacity and a 6.7% decrease in RFTKs as compared to 2018.
“On the cargo side, our overall volume in
December was on par with November and we enjoyed good all-round
support from and to all the regions in our network all the way
through to the final week of the year. Our mainland China and
Southwest Pacific routes were the outstanding performers,
recording both month-on-month and year-on-year improvement in
sales. Our focus on specialised cargo solutions continued to offer
positives; we carried more mail and Fresh LIFT cargo, backed by
strong demand for e-commerce and seasonal produce towards the end
of the year. We also celebrated our first ever freighter flight to
South America, carrying seasonal cherries from Chile back to
Asia,” Mr Lam said.
“As previously reported, our second-half performance will be
significantly below that of the first half. We anticipate 2020
will continue to present us with a highly challenging operating
environment. We remain agile in our operations, ensuring our
capacity is best aligned with demand. As announced last month, we
are reluctantly reducing our overall seat capacity in 2020 by 1.4%
year-on-year as opposed to our original plan of 3.1% growth in
light of the immediate commercial challenges we are facing.”
This year, Cathay Pacific is scheduled to take
delivery of its first Airbus A321neo is preparing for the Boeing
777-9 aircraft as well.

Four Seasons Madrid Now Accepting Reservations
After a seven-year reconceptualisation and
restoration of seven historic buildings, the new Four Seasons
Hotel Madrid is now confirming reservations for arrivals beginning
15 May 2020.
With a soaring grand lobby welcoming guests at its
heart, the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is located within Centro Canalejas, also home to 22 Four Seasons Private Residences and the
Galería Canalejas luxury shopping mall.
Architects Estudio Lamela
led the restoration, preserving more than 3,700 artifacts
throughout. Inside, interiors are by an international team of
designers including BAMO, BG Architecture, Martin Brudnizki,
AvroKO and Luis Bustamante.
“It’s truly been a labour of passion and love as
these beautiful buildings transform into a fantastic setting for a
new chapter in their histories,” said Christoph Schmidinger, Four
Seasons Regional Vice President and the Hotel’s General Manager.
“Here, Four Seasons guests and residents will mingle with
Madrileños in the Hotel’s restaurants and bars, meeting with
colleagues, taking a break from shopping and exploring museums, or
engaging in long conversations with friends over shared plates and
the country’s best wines.”
The luxury hotel will be home to Dani, a new dining concept from the three
Michelin-starred Spanish celebrity Chef Dani Garciachef. The
restaurant enjoys an unmatched rooftop setting
envisioned by acclaimed London and New York-based designer, Martin Brudnizki.
The 200-room Four Seasons Hotel Madrid will also
feature a variety of other F&B outlets, a spa spread out over four
floors, a sky-lit indoor pool and sun terrace as well as over
1,400 sqm of event space - including an oval shaped ballroom.
In this truly pedestrian-friendly city, most of
the main points of interest are within a 20-minute walk of the
hotel, including the 125 hectare (300 acre) Retiro Park with its
incredible Glass Palace and endless pathways amid trees, fountains
and ponds. Three of the world’s best museums – the Prado, the
Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina
Sofía – are also within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Steady Growth Forecast for Mainland China Hotel Markets in 2020
According to the latest forecast from STR and
Tourism Economics, the key Mainland China hotel markets are
projected to report performance growth in 2020, despite a
challenging macroeconomic environment.
“China’s economy, and by extension its hospitality
industry, remains strong even with concerns around the trade war
with the U.S. and an overall global economic slowdown,” said
Christine Liu, STR’s Regional Manager, North Asia. “A decline in
Chinese departures to other countries, combined with significant
government investment in infrastructure is driving domestic demand
in key markets. However, the country’s resilience to difficult
macroeconomic situations will be tested if the trade war continues
to decelerate economic growth.”
At the market level, Beijing should continue on
its growth trajectory with a forecast increase of 3.7% in RevPAR
while ADR is expected to grow +1.8%.
“Demand growth is key for Beijing as supply
continues to increase at a healthy rate,” Liu said. “The newly
opened Beijing Daxing International Airport, projected to be one
of the busiest in the world, and Beijing preparing for the 2022
Winter Olympics, highlight potential growth for the tourism and
hospitality sector.”
After a challenging 2019, Chengdu is forecast
for ADR growth of 1.4%. The market is projected to report the
country’s second-largest supply growth rate (2.8%) with close to
18,000 rooms in the development pipeline. Demand will be helped by
China’s high-speed train system and subsequent MICE business.
As the international trading center and
comprehensive transportation hub of China, Guangzhou is expected
to show RevPAR growth of 3.4% with solid increases in both
occupancy and ADR.
Hangzhou, known for welcoming a mix of leisure and
business travelers, is set to see its run of performance growth
end in 2020 with RevPAR expected to decline -2.4%.
Among key markets in Mainland China,
Hangzhou should see the largest increases in supply (+4.1%) and
demand (+4.7%).
Following three years of occupancy declines caused
by the impact of new supply, 2020 is expected to be Shanghai’s
year of recovery. RevPAR growth is expected to reach 2.5% as the
market is likely to pick up displaced demand caused by continued
protests in Hong Kong.
