Firm believer that if it weren't for Sonic, Eggman would be dead and the cause of it none other than Tails and his bombs. (and yes I know about WWMH, this post ain't about that)

Just out of principle that Tails is chaotic good right? In Tails Adventure he saw a flock of birds stealing an emerald with evil plans following (forgive me I know very little of this game exept that they all died) and this lill fella wasted no time in blowing them all up, doing the right thing but uh, catching a feew bodies in the process.

Just the mental image of Sonic being like "huh, hadn't seen Eggman scheming for a while, this is probably bad news.." and than there comes this random 4 year old saying that he "no longer has to worry about that guy."
