8State-owned NTPC has floated a global Expression of Interest (EoI) to set up a Pilot Project on Hydrogen Blending with Natural Gas in City Gas Distribution (CGD) Network in India.

According to the Power Ministry statement, the EoI follows the recent tenders floated by NTPC REL for green hydrogen fuelling station at Leh and NTPC VidyutVyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) for procurement of Fuel Cell Buses. A dedicated 1.25 MW Solar plant is also being set up at Leh by NTPC REL to power the hydrogen fuelling station.

The expression of interest (EoI) follows the recent tenders floated by NTPC REL for green hydrogen fuelling station at Leh and NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN) for procurement of Fuel Cell Buses. A dedicated 1.25 MW solar plant is also being set up at Leh by NTPC REL to power the hydrogen fuelling station. “NTPC Limited, India’s largest integrated power generating company under Ministry of Power, has floated a global Expression of Interest (EoI) to set up a pilot project on hydrogen blending with natural gas in City Gas Distribution (CGD) Network in India,” a company statement said. This pilot on hydrogen blending with natural gas will be the first of its kind in India and would explore the viability of decarbonising India’s natural gas grid. NTPC with its ambition of playing a key role in India’s transition to hydrogen economy would later take this up at a commercial scale across India. The successful execution of the pilot will also demonstrate the decarbonisation objective along with import substitution aim under the government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’. NTPC Ltd is also keenly exploring production of green ammonia to decarbonise the fertilizer industry and possibly fulfil government’s upcoming mandate of using certain percentage of green hydrogen in fertilizer and refinery sector. ریاست کے زیر انتظام عالمی سطح پر ‘اظہار رائے’ کو قائم کرنے کے لیے مدعو کیا گیا ہے۔ پائلٹ پروجیکٹ پر ہائیڈروجن کے ساتھ ملاوٹ قدرتی گیس شہر میں گیس کی تقسیم دلچسپی کا اظہار (ای او آئیNTPC REL کی طرف سے لیہ کے گرین ہائیڈروجن فیولنگ اسٹیشن اور فیول سیل بسوں کی خریداری کے لیے NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN) کے حالیہ ٹینڈرز کی پیروی کرتا ہے۔ ہائیڈروجن فیولنگ اسٹیشن کو طاقت دینے کے لیے این ٹی پی سی آر ای ایل کی جانب سے لیہ میں 1.25 میگاواٹ کا ایک سرشار پلانٹ بھی لگایا جا رہا ہے۔

این ٹی پی سی لمیٹڈ ، وزارت توانائی کے تحت بھارت کی سب سے بڑی مربوط بجلی پیدا کرنے والی کمپنی ، نے بھارت میں سٹی گیس ڈسٹری بیوشن (سی جی ڈی) نیٹ ورک میں قدرتی گیس کے ساتھ ہائیڈروجن ملاوٹ پر ایک پائلٹ پروجیکٹ قائم کرنے کے لیے ایکسپلریشن آف انٹرسٹ (ای او آئی) جاری کیا ہے۔ کمپنی کے بیان میں کہا گیا ہے۔

قدرتی گیس کے ساتھ ہائیڈروجن ملاوٹ پر یہ پائلٹ بھارت میں اپنی نوعیت کا پہلا ہو گا اور بھارت کے قدرتی گیس گرڈ کو ڈیکربونائز کرنے کی صلاحیت کو دریافت کرے گا۔

این ٹی پی سی ہائڈروجن اکانومی میں ہندوستان کی منتقلی میں کلیدی کردار ادا کرنے کے اپنے عزائم کے ساتھ بعد میں اسے پورے ہندوستان میں تجارتی پیمانے پر لے جائے گی۔

پائلٹ کی کامیاب پھانسی حکومت کے ‘آتمانربھر بھارت ابھیان’ کے تحت درآمدی متبادل مقصد کے ساتھ ڈی کاربونائزیشن مقصد کو بھی ظاہر کرے گی۔

این ٹی پی سی لمیٹڈ کھاد کی صنعت کو ڈی کاربونائز کرنے اور ممکنہ طور پر کھاد اور ریفائنری کے شعبے میں سبز ہائیڈروجن کے کچھ فیصد کے استعمال کے حکومتی مینڈیٹ کو پورا کرنے کے لیے سبز امونیا کی پیداوار کی تلاش میں ہے۔

نیز ، رامگنڈم میں گرین میتھانول کی پیداوار کے بارے میں تفصیلی مطالعہ مکمل ہوچکا ہے اور توقع ہے کہ کمپنی مستقبل قریب میں سرمایہ کاری کا حتمی فیصلہ کرے گی۔
