I’ve been messing around with Hero Forge since I saw that Deacon post yesterday and I’m about to make it everybody’s problem :D 

I did not stop at making Jack I also had to make my other favorite boy Sunshine “Moonshine” Bancroft from Fallout 76 and his bitchin’ gatling gun.

I know I’ve been dead on tumblr but it’s mostly because I have been absolutely no-lifing Fallout 76 on the PS4. When I played Fallout 4 on the PC it was easy to close the game and then quickly throw up some screenshots here for all my little friends in the internet before I went to bed. The PS4 has like 5 steps and a USB drive involved in getting the screenshots from my game to tumblr. But my shiny new boy is worth it so I finally got around to it like 6 months later.

BTW 76 fucks because I can just... do what I wanna. I love my favored son Fallout 4 Jack but I very much built him to follow (or sometimes subvert) the laid-out narrative for your player character. In Fallout 76 you’re from a vault. That’s about it. You can choose what to do from there.

Anyway, following the naming conventions of my people, his name is Moonshine and expect to see way too much of this bastard on your dash in the future.

Today’s prompt for Falloutober 2022 was “World on Fire” so I decided to write a little something about setting (at least part of) the world on fire...

  The nuke was supposed to launch at 9 A.M. sharp.   Moonshine tore his eyes off the rolling landscape of the Cranberry Bog and looked down at his Pip-Boy.   8:59 A.M.   He glanced over his shoulder. Everyone was in place.   He shifted his weight impatiently and sighed before checking his Pip-Boy again.   9:00 A.M.   In three minutes he was about to witness what the weapon that ended the world could do.   He wasn’t the only one who would be seeing it for the first time. But many who were with him bore witness to it twenty-six years ago. Many were just children at the time. Some were grown with their own children. But all of them who had experienced the end of the world first hand wore quiet, haunted looks when he had explained the plan four days ago. Including his wife.   He stole a sideways glance at her. Now she glanced at her own Pip-Boy then skyward. Bri didn’t have any of the impatient, nervous energy her husband had. She wore a stoic expression.   The group that had been bubbling with energy moments ago was still and quiet behind him. Even the Cranberry Bog itself seemed to suddenly be devoid of it’s usual activity.   The bomb came careening out of the sky without warning. By the time he noticed it there, it had landed with a brilliant flash that eclipsed the sun.   Oh god, are we too close?   They had run calculation after calculation to determine how close was safe, then still gave themselves room on top of that.   The flash started to fade and in its place a massive mushroom cloud started to climb. All of the destruction the explosion had caused kicked up dust and debris into the air that made the sky glow a hellish red.   Moonshine gasped.   It looked like the world was on fire.   If the world was larger than he ever imagined, then the force that ended it was even larger. He felt primal fear rip through his gut as his eyes followed the cloud upward and upward further. The radius of the detonation was quickly expanding. Moonshine had never felt the urge to turn and run so deeply while also so awestruck he was thoroughly unable to.   A moment later the shock wave hit like a wall of wind. A sound like a shotgun blast ricocheted through the air and a stench like an electrical fire followed it.   He let out a breath he didn’t know he had been holding and wiped the cold sweat off his brow. He squinted at where the nuke had fallen, trying to find what they had come here for.   As the initial blast was clearing, in the distance he could see a hulking figure dragging itself from the earth.

This is a guy who wears one of those boomer dad “She’s the boss” tshirts when he’s out with his wife but unlike boomer dads is intensely sincere about it @thuumwrestler
