Experimental Walking Fortress Oddysey class Prototype unit: WF-T/M12040. “Mizuho” based upon Battleship Mizuho 1947 “Empire of Japan”

First Gato-class submarine to enter combat in WWII. 13 war patrols. 12 battle stars. Most notably, she sank the Japanese seaplane tender Mizuho and withstood a 16-hour depth charge attack on her very first patrol.  

USS Drum now resides in Battleship Alabama Memorial Park in Mobile.
