Refugees
In light of recent terrible news about shootings. Refugees fleeing their home country because it's no longer safe. A numerous group crossing the U.S. border and it being called a national emergency. It is a crisis. These people need help. These are urgent problems. I want to be a problem solver. I don't know how soon it could be acted on or really how plausible it is, considering laws governing whatever country. I would like to start working on it immediately. Then again it may turn out to be one of the "lifetime works/goals" I've mentioned before. Something that could be paired or parallel to the aforementioned homeless rehabilitation centers. Something I’d like to possibly partner with MegaCARE on as a non-profit grant funded program. I tried talking to a friend about this idea and was met with an unpleasant reaction. Treating people who are in need of immediate care like foreign exchange students. I'm talking about people who have children or who are in need of medical attention being processed first. Background checks to keep criminals from main populous or sending them back to whatever country they came from. (violent crimes, drug runners, and severe repeat offenders) Government "starter" houses or facilities/communities. Given identification and a work visa. Assess the applicants level of education. Provide trade based training in areas with most job availability. Education for their children. Healthcare for children under 18. Government healthcare clinics available for small fees for adults. Maybe a window of a few months for free healthcare for adults. For emergencies and vaccines. Access to faith based programmes and materials. If they choose, it's optional. A political propaganda free program. So that it can not be used as political leverage. It would be important educating from all angles, if they need it. So they can make the best decisions for themselves, their family, and our country whenever they're granted voter status as a U.S. citizen. I would suggest the same could be applied internationally. Getting people up to speed, educated. So they can abide by the laws of the country. So they can have somewhere to start. Not just fighting to survive and living in poverty. I also think it would be somewhat beneficial. I heard the reproductive rate of the U.S. is not enough to replace our current population. They would be honourary citizens. Taxes would also be applicable. Like with an employment probationary period. In addition they would have to agree to all the paperwork and regulations or there would be no admittance. One other thought, I'd believe that most of those that are suffering would be grateful for just a chance. In such a way that it would be an establishing of a new way of living for themselves and their families. It would stick. The addition is about the education they receive: That it is one that encourages them to seek beyond the poverty mentality. So, beyond the probationary period they will continue to thrive. Sometimes all people need is a chance.
