The atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation as fans gathered to meet their beloved South Korean superstar, Lee Seung Gi. The event was nothing short of unforgettable, creating a sense of shared joy and connection among more than 600 fans in Malaysia. The walls of MyTOWN reverberated with enthusiasm as fans and the general public came together to celebrate the magic of Korean entertainment.

The heart of this memorable fan meet was the interactive activities that allowed fans to engage with Lee Seung Gi on a personal level. In one activity, fans acted out prompts for Lee Seung Gi to guess, creating fun interactions. Another activity involved a numbers game where Lee Seung Gi picked a number, and fans had a chance to win signed polaroids by matching or coming closest to his chosen number. ONEderful Day with Lee Seung Gi kicks off with an exclusive closed-door fan meet session with the popular singer, actor, and variety host, followed by a public fan-meet at MyTOWN Shopping Centre.

KUALA LUMPUR, 30th October 2023 – ONE, Asia’s leading network for the best of Korean entertainment (owned by KC Global Media) and Malaysia’s leading content and entertainment company, Astro, have announced a live fan meet event with South Korean superstar, Lee Seung Gi. On 4 November 2023, he will be meeting winners from the Astro online contest in a private closed-door event, followed by a live fan event on the same day, which takes place at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Fans and the public can get up close and personal with Lee Seung Gi through an interactive array of games and activities.

Lee Seung Gi is known as a “Triple Threat” entertainer for his success in singing, acting, and hosting. Beginning his career as a singer in 2004, Lee Seung Gi quickly rose to fame with his ballad songs, such as "Because You're My Girl" and "Will You Marry Me?". He has released seven studio albums and has won numerous awards including the Golden Disc Award for Album of the Year. In 2009, Lee Seung Gi made his acting debut in the drama series Brilliant Legacy. He has since starred in several popular dramas, including My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho (2010), The King 2 Hearts (2012), Vagabond (2019) and The Law Cafe (2022). He won numerous acting awards including the 2023 Korean PD Awards in the Best Actor Award category for The Law Cafe. Lee Seung Gi is also a popular variety show host, and has hosted popular variety shows, including 2 Days 1 Night, Strong Heart, and Master in the House. He is known for his quick wit, charm, and ability to connect with the audience.

K-drama fans can catch Lee Seung Gi in <The King 2Hearts>first run on ONE channel on Astro (CH 393) and Unifi TV (Ch 461) from 2 November 2023, every Thursday and Friday at 7.50pm. The popular Korean romantic comedy drama shares the love between Lee Jae-ha (Lee Seung Gi), a South Korean prince and Kim Hang-ah (Ha Ji-won), a North Korean special agent. The two initially clash, but they eventually fall in love. However, their relationship is disapproved of due to the political tensions between North and South Korea. They must overcome many obstacles, including their own families and the evil plans of a North Korean general who is trying to overthrow the South Korean government.

Lee Seung Gi also stars in the South Korean reality show, <Golf Battle: Birdie Buddies>, which re-runs on 11November 2023, Saturday at 6.30pm. Each episode features three celebrity hosts divided into teams to compete against each other in a golf match. ‘Triple Threat Entertainer’ Lee Seung Gi returned to Kuala Lumpur last Saturday night as he was greeted by 2,000 Airens at Star Convention Centre, Menara PGRM. The Korean heartthrob made his comeback to Malaysia after 7 years, which was the last fan meeting in 2012 with [VAGABOND VOYAGE] as Kuala Lumpur was picked for his last and final pit stop to commemorate his 15th Years in Showbiz since his debut in 2004.

“Because you are my woman, I’ll call you by you, no matter what you say. So that you can feel me as a man, I’ll hold you tightly.”

Lee Seung Gi kicked off his tour by performing sentimental ballad from his early hits “Because You Are My Woman”. There is nowhere to look but the stage as your oppa makes his appearance and serenades fans with his melodic vocals. Without the distraction of a spectacle, the music and his sweetest voice shine together. Wearing a black wool coat with a pair of black trousers to complete his sleek, fans were surely hypnotized by his dashing good looks as the multi- talented entertainer greets fans with excitement.

For the second segment, the keyword revealed was “Variety”. Known to be awarded with the Daesang (Grand Prize) at the 2018 SBS Entertainment Awards, crediting him as the best entertainer of the year! The multi-talented star has participated in variety shows such as All The Butlers, Little Forest, and most recently Busted (Season 2). He also shared during the variety talk that each of his works in variety is different especially in Busted (Season 2) where the format of the show is not simple as it focuses on investigating and being on detective mode. He also reveals that he is close to EXO-Sehun (one of his co-star in Busted (Season 2).

Moving on, the screen displayed the last keyword which was “Vagabond”. Playing a role named “Cha Dal Gun” a stunt actor that seeks for justice after his nephew died in a plane crash. The actor shares that filming the action and fighting scenes were very hard and took a longer time filming particularly those scenes that took place in Morocco. A clip of his kiss scene with co-star Suzy is also played on screen, much to crowd’s delight. He also reveals that the process of filming a kiss scene was different from reality as it has to be simple and graceful. He also jokes that during filming a kiss scene, there were about 20 people in the room to monitor his acting. Hence, what is portrayed for audience was different from behind the scenes.

For the second half of the show, more interactive activities with fans are included. The second segment, “Entertainment Corner”, during the second segment, a video is displayed that highlighted some fun moments of Lee Seung Gi on variety show especially a part which showcases his outstanding basketball skills. The stage suddenly changes into a small ‘basketball court” as a portable basketball hoop is brought on the stage! As a challenge, he was tasked with throwing a mini basketball through a hoop 10 times in order for fans to win his autographed posters. He looked nervous and worried as it is not an easy task. As fans continue to cheer him, he manages to complete the impossible challenge! Well done, Seung Gi!

As we reach to climax with third segment, “Date With Lee Seung Gi”. Fans are able to see Seung Gi shows off his culinary skills as the stage changed into a live cooking show. Dressed with an apron as part of his “fashion”, he continues to make a Malaysian local food which is Popiah (spring rolls). At the beginning, he looked confident with ingredients and the process of making the food. Until he decides to add “cheese” in the ingredient which is not “your typical Popiah” and insists that “this is my style”. A lucky fan from Taiwan is chosen to receive the food and the atmosphere continues to heats up as Seung Gi personally feeds her a piece of it! Moving on, 14 random lucky fans are picked to play a guessing telepathy pose game with Lee Seung Gi. Divided into two teams of seven, the two teams will compete with each other as the screen displayed two different pose and each player is required to strike same pose as Seung Gi in order to win. At the end of the game, Team A is announced as the winner which receives a special goodie bag from Seung Gi. Not only that, he personally walks offstage to the left seating zone (Team A) and takes photo at each zone!

After an intimate session with fans, the lights starts to dim as he makes his way out of the stage to prepare for the final event. The lights finally came back as the actor- singer stood centre stage and a special video project made by Malaysian Airens is played on the screen. The hall is filled with pink glows from Airens lighstick and a surprise banner project showing the support and love by fans for Seung Gi. He continues to perform sentimental track titled “Return”. Prior to the performance of “Delete”, he expresses his gratitude towards his Airens by thanking them for sending him lots of loves.

He then closes the two-hour Fan meet with an energetic performance of “Smile Boy” and “Let’s Go On Vacation”. The piercing screams of the estrogen-fueled fans seeing Seung Gi on the stage, feels that the whole 2 hours of the show goes by fast.

Everything about the show feels fascinating and intimate as Seung Gi shares so many stories and plans for his future. Watching Seung Gi on stage, one couldn’t help but felt impressive with his efforts and stunning voice stole the show.
