Worrying

Sitting on a flight to Auckland today I decided to get my write on, I’ve lost count as to how many times we have done this flight,

Today Andy and I were suppose to be enjoying a day out at his work Christmas lunch something I think we both needed and were looking forward too, but on the way there in the taxi we got a call and had to turn around and head back home, pretty much paid to ride around in a taxi, but this is what we do we drop everything every time the hospital rings and we get on a plane not knowing what will be and wish we were flying somewhere else for a change.

as a parents we constantly worry about our children, it’s what we do as soon as they are born till I don’t even no when it doesn’t stop, we worry about what school to send them to, about them falling down the stairs when they start walking, about chocking, about falling in a pool about peer pressure about them socially are they going to make friends are they going to do well in school are they going to be bullied are they ok are they going to meet someone get married, I could go on, this is what I worry about, And then on top of all that parents with children like carter it’s all that x10000 we exsperience a daily battle we become our child, we no them we no more than the doctors half the time, we become a little bitphysic we feel things before they happen, we get good news followed by bad we get bad news followed by bad we get good news and stress about getting the bad, even when times are goad and you try celebrate the fact life is good, in the back of your mind you worry, your constantly trying to stay positive before the positive gets shut down with more bad news and then you stress, it’s always like this, is this the final straw how much more can he take how much do you put your child through, we don’t have a choice but we continue on this journey, we continue torturing him watching him scream and yell “ stop I don’t want to mummy”. “he is so brave”, yeah he is, he’s three he shouldnt have to be this brave, he should be falling off his bike getting dirty getting sick he should be able to get sick without ending up in hospital, this is not fair when you say it’s not fair this is what not fair is.

I ask myself every night why him what did he do to deserve this, This is our life this is what it’s become, I’m done where is the silver lining where is the break we are waiting for stop giving us good news followed with bad, how can you be positive when you try so hard and it always ends in tears.

Is it the mirrors I broke I’ve broken many mirrors that’s all I can put it down too, we’re not horrible people well I don’t think we are, I want to laugh I’m sick or crying I’m sick of been worried, I’m sick of people complaining, enjoy your life enjoy your children be greatfull for every single day be greatfull all you have to worry about is getting them to school on time, let me tell you our children are strong you don’t have to worry so much about them they can get through the toughest shit and still laugh and smile. I don’t want sympathy I don’t want you to post on this I just want you to know that when your car breaks down or you get a flat tyre you get sun burnt and feel sorry for your self, just think about carter and the fact he doesn’t have a choice he would rather be sitting on the side of the road fixing a flat tyre with his dad he would rather be at Christmas in the park running around and not laying in a hospital bed.

How we do it? you realise that you are lucky, all this and we are actually the lucky ones, we might not have much but we have each other and that’s how we do this every single time, we get thrown lemons and we make god dam lemonade we suck up and we bloody do it.

There are so many things in life we complain about but there is always someone out there doing it harder so suck it up people and where dam suncream.

Who let me watch 5.06?

I should be doing an assignment that’s due tomorrow but ya know due tomorrow means do tomorrow. Lol I know I should be ashamed to be a procrastinator but university has ruined me anyway. I’m tired from literally going to one lecture haha, but in any event I’ve been rewatching mad men for the who knows what time but I thought I’d take a break from all that and watch an episode of CtM & @flyingnonny inspired me to do a reaction post so why not? How quickly did/will they fall in love? - Fall in love over a few months during the summer, but Laney denies it until loner.

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - They both do! I also feel like Mason tends to be more of a stereotypical stay at home dad than Laney? Not that he IS but he’s much more domestic than say, Davis would be.

Who is the more loved parent? - NEITHER THEY’RE BOTH EQUALLY LOVED FUCK THIS QUESTION

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? Both of them! But I can envision in my head Laney meeting Mason there after work because they both want to be actively involved - Laney’s parents never were for her so she thinks its important her children know they care

Who cried the most at graduation? -Laney for sure

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Mason because he knows everyone and will be like ‘sheriff he didn’t MEAN to do that come on let him off with a warning and i’ll ground him for two months’

Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? - I feel like it’s Mason? I just imagine that being one of these secret talents of his. Laney probably can cook but she also probably just doesn’t want to. Definitely Mason.

Who is the most picky in their food choice? -Probably Laney. I don’t think she’s actually picky but I can see her being less open minded about food than he is. Like she probably has a hard time stomaching eating the fish she watches Mason catch.

Who does the grocery shopping? - They either take turns or go together.

How often do they bake desserts? - Laney, who doesn’t cook much, is going to want to constantly bake with her children and I’m not sure why. But otherwise it’s probably very rarely and they stick to ice cream out of the tub.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Meat, both of them.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Mason ;_;

Who is more likely to suggest going out? -Either of them, they’re pretty equal in social life activity.

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidently while cooking? - I genuinely cannot decide. I want to say Mason because it SOUNDS like a Mason thing but I also feel like she doesn’t cook that often so probably Laney tbh.

Chores:

Who cleans the room? - Laney!

Who is really against chores? -Neither is against chores and they’re both going to love forcing their kids to clean up their messes cuz they’re lazy.

Who cleans up after the pets? - Mason predominantly because his dogs become his career, but she helps too.

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Mason

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Laney. She doesn’t mind when shit isn’t together when it’s just them but if people are coming over she’s like ‘okay it looks like we killed someone because neither of us ever cleaned up that spaghetti bowl that dropped where’s the bleach i need to cover up this murder!!’

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Mason and then he was stupidly excited about it too and told everyone

Misc:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Laney definitely enjoys a nice relaxing bath - especially future mom!Laney. Although they both enjoy long showers/baths together ;)

Who takes the dog out for a walk? - They take them together!! They always walk them around the beach together at night while they catch up on each other’s day.

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - I feel like Mason takes a lot of pride in decorating the house but probably mostly for Christmas tbh - he’s probably in on the decorating/best house competitions

What are their goals for the relationship? - To basically become Ocean and have the happiest, stress free life doing what they love together on their island and always having each other as a best friend and life partner.

Who is most likely to sleep till noon? - Both of them. Even when they’re parents like if they had a babysitter the night before cuz they went out and got trashed with their group of friends they’d like try to sleep in and cry silently when the kids burst in in the mornings and start jumping on the bed.

Who plays the most pranks? -Mason. No questions asked. Laney hates 99.9% of them.
