Mama Killa

The moon goddess and highest female goddess, daughter of Viracocha and Mama Cocha, sister and wife of Inti the sun god and mother of Mama Ocllo, Manco Capac and their siblings. Mother of all stars.

She gets represented by a round and shiny silver plate with a face, the moon.

Women and girls ask her for protection and advice.

She also protects new borns and get asked by lovers to protect their loved ones.

The cicle of the moon represents the female cicle.

She got worshipped in her own temple Koricancha. The priestresses who worshipped her wore grey and silver dresses. It was forbidden for men to look at them and they had silver earrings that made noises so the men could here them and turn away. The priestresses where known for their magic and healing abilities.

Mama Killa foreigns all female aspects in herself as mysteries of magic, sorcery, beauty, the power of the unseen, knowledge about cicles, feminine wisdom but also vulnerability, so she protects the feelings and dreams of her followers.

In september she has her own celebration called Raymi Coya, a women only event.

Offerings to her include:

-essential oils

-parfume

-water (moon water)

thrown into the air

-combs

-mirrors

-needles

-ornaments

-silver figurines
