 Filho único de um casal de músicos tailandeses, Kittchat Charoenkul nasceu em um dia chuvoso e calmo, em Chiang Mai. Seus pais eram pessoas simples e de coração caloroso. Ainda pequeno, recebeu o apelido de “Misha”, segundo seus pais, o pequeno era a criança que iluminava suas vidas e trazia felicidade para seus corações. Teve uma infância calma, cresceu em meio aos instrumentos e a música, seus pais eram carinhosos e faziam o possível para conciliar seu trabalho com os cuidados necessários para o crescimento daquela criança. Já em sua adolescência, aprendeu a tocar vários instrumentos e a cantar, mas se via realmente apaixonado por outra forma de arte: a pintura e o desenho.

Sua vida era tranquila, mas assim como o as ondas do mar que podem estar tranquilas e do dia para noite se tornarem agressivas, a vida do jovem tailandês deu uma grande reviravolta; ainda com dezesseis anos, recebeu a notícia que seus genitores haviam morrido em um grave acidente de avião.

A dor de perder quem mais amava o abraçou ainda cedo e trouxe muita escuridão para o coração daquele adolescente, acabou sendo levado para a casa de sua tia, irmã de seu pai, a qual prometeu cuidá-lo da melhor maneira possível. Mas não era a mesma coisa. A mulher acabava por ser negligente com o rapaz, deixando-o em último plano sempre. Suas notas pioraram conforme o tempo, se tornou cada vez mais distante da família, coisa que não parecia alarmar a mulher que se encontrava sempre ocupada demais com seu trabalho ou as festas que frequentava quase todas as noites.

Quando completou seus vinte anos, Misha se viu finalmente livre para seguir o caminho que fosse de sua preferência, o que o levou a pegar suas economias deixadas pelos pais e rumar a Bangkok na procura de melhores oportunidades e então entrou na faculdade de Artes Visuais, conseguiu um apartamento pequeno em Dong Muang e recomeçou sua vida naquele lugar. No entanto, o dinheiro que havia economizado não era o suficiente para pagar seus estudos e o necessário para viver, por isso, Kittchat se viu realizando vários trabalhos como freelancer para que pudesse se sustentar. Foi em uma dessas situações que acabou se interessando pelo trabalho de tatuador.

Se viu alternando o tempo entre trabalho, universidade e os cursos de primeiros-socorros e tatuador. Mesmo que cansativo, Kittchat se viu realizado quando finalmente se formou. Ainda sem saber onde começar, iniciou sua carreira como tatuador a domicílio, antes de finalmente poder montar sua próprio barraca no Train Market Night. Coisa que não o impediu de aproveitar as suas noites livres para usar sua arte e pintar as ruas com graffitti, arte que usava para criticas sociais e expressar seus sentimentos.

How’s it feel to single-handedly bring Coraline to the trending list with one post of your amazing art

Going from talking Coraline to myself in an echo chamber all throughout 2021 to having it trend and Neil Gaiman noticing in 2023 is crazy, I can’t describe it.

I'm glad you think so! It's a good ship, I enjoy seeing cosplays of it. But I love their friendship, and I'm just more focused on portraying her trauma.

Same for Wybie actually, a young autistic man (blows kiss to friend) and ace (blows kiss to myself) who's about to inherit the child grave palace the moment his already very old Gramma dies? He's silent struggling too.

Ah fun fact; for the longest time my older Coraline was meant to have long hair!

At the time it was the only way I could think to show growth but keep her head shape, it felt boring though and I wanted my interpretation of her to be original. Then one day I was in a cafe and down the hall there was graffiti of a girl with the 2000s edgy haircut and I immediately thought YES.

Your art style is so familiar to someone I once knew in a horror themed fandom from a very long time ago. Something to do with Stitches and Fire was a ship theme if I remember correctly...?
