Genuine question: do the characters from Witch Hat Atelier have actual official spellings of their names because even within the translation I'm reading there is no consistency please help
#is it agott? agete? agathe??? what is it??????#olruggio? orugio? olugio???#also i was operating under the assumption that qifrey was pronounced 'chi-frey' because 'qi' is 'chi' to me#but there's another spelling that's kieffrey. and then i checked the actual japanese and it's キーフリー#so. i was saying his name wrong. 🫠#anyways. seems like the only spelling agreed on is coco#is there an official spelling is what i really want to know#storyrambles#wha

La joie occasionnée par le succès de Coco durant le défilé de la Nuit d'argent aura été de courte durée… Les festivités sont soudain interrompues par l'irruption de monstres géants dans la cité d'Esrest. Tandis que les habitants de l'île sont emportés dans un tourbillon chaotique, la milice magique, le roi insulaire et les sages luttent de concert pour limiter les dégâts !
L’histoire suit son cours. Kieffrey et Coco affrontent le grand sage qui fait partie de la Confrérie du Capuchon. L’autre jeune fille de la Confrérie fait face à sa victime qui a perdu la mémoire.
J’aime que l’histoire nous montre des personnages complexes qui doivent faire face aux conséquences de leurs actions et qui doivent composer avec leur environnement.
L’intrigue avance lentement mais reste très intéressante et j’ai hâte de voir la suite.

I am just retyping a literal summary of a chapter and disguising it as a thought. I like the ch40 scene because Kieffrey isn’t just pulling a CYA, he does in some way frame it as releasing Olugio from the obligations of his friendship. Olugio is going to help him no matter what his goal, which in this case is one that Kieffrey suspects may kill him.
One way to get out of that is just to smarten up—Kieffrey refuses. The second way is the one he employs. The third way is to alienate Olugio so thoroughly that he no longer wants to help—something Kieffrey has set up. It’s a selfish and cowardly move on Kieffrey’s part to do what he did in the order that he did it. I also feel like the intended reading is that Kieffrey is willing to be found out. The ticking time bomb he plants is one that’s going to keep Olugio out of his affairs when it explodes (or so he thinks). Both outcomes, whether it’s discovered or not, serve Kieffrey’s purposes. He’s decided to nuke their friendship because his own personal death/subversion/destruction is going to end it anyway.

Putting away my manga and noticed just how white Qifrey’s volume (3rd) is compared to the rest despite it being the first one that I bought, I mean, even the paper quality is thicker than the rest
Is this a treefrey hint?
