New Zealand part Day 5- Mt Cook

It was still misty in the morning when we drove to Mt Cook. Months of reading blogs and watching vlogs: I knew it in my heart the view we were supposed to be looking at but sadly it was just blocked by dark heavy clouds and a whole lot of fog...... /insert sad tunes/ but we prayed hard for a view even if it was a teeny one.

When we left the campervan for our first hike, the Hooker Valley trail, it was still drizzling........ about 10 minutes in, the dark clouds cleared up and we began to catch glimpse of mountains with snow filled caps. My heart was beating so fast, oh please let me see the majestic mountains!!!

Sad news, the Hooker Valley track was closed about halfway in, due to a sand avalanche but great news....... the views were amazing! We were sooooooo happy, Alhamdulillah. We sat by the bridge and just enjoyed the view.

We decided to go on another little walk to Kea Point, which was the best decision ever, the view was even more amazing there! We stayed in Aoraki, the base of Mt Cook, all morning and afternoon, truly just appreciating the majestic mountains. Definitely the highlight of my trip!

On the way back, we came across a sign that implied another route to Mt Cook, so we did exit the road. Loved the road with even more precious views. We found a cosy little spot for lunch.

The trip to Mt Cook was amazing! It makes both Asyidiq and I really looking forward to travel to more mountains in the future.
