Small College Basketball Tidbits
There's lots happening in college basketball at the small college basketball. Here are several tidbits to keep you in the loop with some of the recent accomplishments:
Emmanuel's KJ Jones just became the school's all-time leading scorer, as he currently has 2,756 career points, surpassing Larry James, who has held the record since 1999.
In Bethel's (IN) win over Taylor yesterday, Drew Lutz surpassed 2,000 career points.
Gannon's Lyle Tipton scored his 2,000th career point yesterday. He scored 1,758 points at Geneva, and has scored 242 points thus far this season at Gannon.
Colorado School of Mines Coach Pryor Orser just became the all-time wins leader in RMAC history, as he now has 310 RMAC wins, and 437 overall wins.
Rowan's Ja'Zere Noel scored 35 points in yesterday's 112-79 win over William Patterson, which pushed him over the 1,000-point barrier.....in just two seasons with Rowan.
In Cedarville's 98-70 win over Wilberforce, Jayvon Maughmer went for a triple-double of 16 points, 12 assists & 11 rebounds.
In back-to-back games, Emporia State saw two different players go for triple doubles. In a win against Friends, Darius Yohe had 11 points, 12 rebounds and 11 blocks. In the following game - a win against Newman - Alijah Comithier went for 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
There are only three undefeated teams left in all of college basketball at the small college levels: Grace, Langston and Trinity (CT). Grace is 18-0; Langston is 17-0; Trinity is 18-0.
